I am NOT a professional UA-camr, I'm not even an amateur UA-camr. I'm just a regular guy sharing bits of information in relation to firearms and shooting.
I'm a retired USAF Security Forces member. I retired as a Master Sergeant (E7) after 23 years of service. I was also CATM (Combat Arms Training and Maintenance) certified. Additionally, I served 2 years as an auxiliary police officer with the Panama City Beach Police Department. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Criminology from Florida State University. I previously held a few FFLs and primarily sold firearms via the internet. I'm currently working as a Armed Security Officer on a Federal contract. -2024
Shield Arms Mag Catch / Release Installation on Glock 43x or 48
A quick, no nonsense tutorial on installing the Shield Arms metal magazine catch/release on a Glock 48 or 43x. There are a lot of videos that show how to complete this installation. Here's one more from an average Joe showing you how simple it is.
Shield Arms sells these direct on their site for $12.00 but I needed 2 and was able to find a better price on Gun Broker

Gunskins Wrap on Glock 48

Quick video on a Gunskins vinyl wrap on my Glock 48. The skin on slide serrations can cause handling issues with wet, sweaty or gloved hands. Use a hobby knife and heat to set the vinyl deeper or remove the vinyl in this area. Check out www.Gunskins.com Note: This is not a carry or home defense gun, it's just a target pistol for me. I wouldn't recommend a vinyl wrap for a carry gun due to the l...
Adding an O-Ring to an AR15 Extractor Spring
Переглядів 44 тис.10 років тому
NOTE: There are a few times when I say "ejector", I mean "extractor." Common fix for pistol and SBR failure to extract/double feed issues. This video shows how to disassemble the AR15 bolt carrier group and how to install an O-ring over the extractor spring. BCM has an upgrade kit that includes an o-ring bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-extractor-spring-upgrade-kit/

Pigtail Gas Tube Test Fire

Test firing the AR15 pistol after installing a M16 Clinic brand pigtail gas tube.
This video is 10 years old and needs to be edited by me.....Ya don't need the o ring.....Toss it......Just the black insert and an extra power extractor spring......Sprinco 5 coil....Wilson Combat....ISMI......That's an old mil-spec design used in tropical environments......You'll get better more consistent cycling when an AR/M16 is tuned properly......
Thanks for the comment. Since the initial post I have included a link in the description to the BCM website that contains the 3 pieces: spring, insert and o-ring as a kit. bravocompanyusa.com/bcm-extractor-spring-upgrade-kit/
@@BlueBeretFirearms Yeah I know.....I've purchased the same kit.....Actually Sprinco packages their kit with the viton o ring......And they also give advice not to use it with the 5 coil.....LOL......God Bless America.....
very informative video👍
Using a magnetic bowl is NOT a good idea as it will magnetize those parts. SOTAR uses a demagnetizer on any bolt parts if they check out as being magnetized. That magnetic bowl although great to secure small parts will unfortunately magnetize them.
This video is over 10 years old and this is the second time someone has made this comment. I'm curious, how long would it take to magnetize a part? As you can see, the parts are in the bowl for a very short time. However, I have taken this into consideration.
My Ancient M4 had no O Ring.. 🤔
M4 has a 16" barrel. This is more of an issue with shorter barrels such as 10" or 7.5". Obviously not every firearm will need an o-ring.
Not a great idea to magnetize the bcg in case you shoot steel may cause issues
I don't regularly store my BCG in a magnetic bowl so I've had no issues. Great observation and interesting comment though.
Lots of people dint use o rings. Great video
If you can't control your SBR you can't control your tool. You should tighten up on that grip your rifles bouncing around like you're shooting a Beowulf or something.
It was a test fire. Wasn't sure what it was going to do at first so I was keeping away from my face. Thanks for taking for the observation and comment. Always appreciate constructive criticism.
How the hell did you get that o ring on!!! Mine is not going on at all!!!
Thank you!
Holy over gased
I'm having similar problems with my CMMG Banshee 200 40 cal AR type pistol. I just replaced the original extractor spring wth the BCM extractor spring upgrade kit..It came with an o-ring, but my original extractor spring didn't come with it. So I didn't use it. It helped some. But was still having issues. Do you think the oring will make a difference in my case even though its not an AR 15?
Absolutely! O-ring that mother lover!
Has anybody had issues with the O ring heating up or no?
Fuck lighting. Fuck decent sound, too.
Just seeing this comment after 3 years...lol. Hey, I'm not a professional UA-camr, hell I'm not even an amateur UA-camr. Just a regular guy sharing information. It seems to have helped some people so all is well.
My o ring caused malfunctions because it tore/ melted a bit and was sticking out of the bolt
Thank you for the video. I put my "O" ring on my BCG today. It is recommended that any barrel length under 14.5" to have an "o" ring on the BCG. Excellent video.
Interesting. My AK pistol had FTE issues and I just had the o ring installed. Hopefully it fixes the issue
In addition to what you said, it’s also recommended for all 300 blackouts. This according to BCM with my newly received BCG.
Yes, apparently that's a CRANE fix. MSW/DEVGRU
@@Wreck-It-Robmy 300blk out has a short stroke issue, should i upgrade the spring and oring and see what happens, what else should i look for
Your video saved me quite a bit of headaches and lots of time! I field stripped and cleaned both my ar-15 rifles and four handguns and when I was done, I found a small o-ring in my solvent bin and was trying to figure out where it came from. I searched my part diagrams for all four handguns and couldn't find any small o-rings listed, so I started searching for the ar-15 rifles and found your video. I have to change my cleaning habits and take my time making sure I don't have left over parts after cleaning each firearm. Thanks!
Pretty straightforward. Just a tip on the video - use a contrasting background so your camera isn't hunting for focus and exposure. Black parts against a black mat confuses it.
You think u had enough CLP on that boot before shooting
Oh snap it's double 07 with deze tunes
You can get O-rings from Bravo Co. www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Extractor-Spring-Uprade-Kit-p/bcm-exspring-1.htm
Interesting. I took my bolt apart this morning and there was no O-ring. But the Oops small parts kit I bought a while ago, had some O-rings and I couldn't figure out what they were for. I guess if the rifle starts to have extractor problems those O-rings will come in handy.
Finally! Someone who uses a magnetic bowl to keep small parts from running away! Got mine from Harbor Freight. A must-have item on the workbench. Thanks for the vid!
I know this is an old comment, but wouldn't that magnetize parts?
@@jd8565 yes so that way they don't fall out of away by accident for some reason.
What size o ring is this. Where did you get it?
www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-Extractor-Spring-Uprade-Kit-p/bcm-exspring-1.htm
if you put the modified bolt back into your rifle are there any issues?
Joe Holtz No issues
It's actually the extractor rather than the ejector. Just to make sure you know lol.
Mr. Guitar CAGED Yes, I caught that after I recorded. I do mention that in my comments. I just got lazy and didn't want to re-do the clip.
what size is the original needed?
Did it work??
I know this reply is 3 years old, but Yes, it worked.
Thank you for this video. I needed to install an O-ring and had no clue. After viewing this, it was a snap. Fixed the failure to ejects too.
Britt Ringel what size o ring. Where ya get it.
Wish me luck. After years of grief with my AR-15 pistol failing to extract/eject I'm hoping the O-ring I bought will fix it. A while back i put a stronger spring on the extractor and it didn't seem to help so I started tweaking other things. Only recently saw the suggestion of a stronger spring AND an O-ring.
@@bioforce5 did it work?
What the hell sort of ammo were you shooting? It looks awfully dirty.
