Переглядів 14День тому
“What you eat has a big influence on your cardiovascular health,” says Robert Segal, MD, Cardiologist at Manhattan Cardiology in New York City. Your doctor may suggest lifestyle modifications to naturally reduce cholesterol even if it is just slightly higher than normal. A diet high in heart-healthy foods can be part of this. But even if your physician recommends cholesterol-lowering drugs, par...

Your doctor will give you a set of numbers when the cholesterol test is done. You can better manage your heart health if you know what these figures represent. On a lipid panel (cholesterol test), you’ll see several numbers: LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol: “LDL cholesterol is bad cholesterol. I remember it as ‘L for lousy,’” says Segal. HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol: Thi...

It’s more than a fast heart rate. It is more along the lines of automatic nervous system disorder. It was first called soldiers heart, then efforts syndrome. Finally pots. It runs a full spectrum of autonomic disregulation. It is also seen in those who have had brain trauma.

I thought you had to have symptoms such as dizziness before your blood pressure could be classified as low. Generally, people get symptomatic when their blood pressure is less than 90 mmHg but many don’t have symptoms until it gets much lower.

I would think the cuff would miss most cases of low blood pressure. People put the cuff on panic and the pressure goes up. One thing for sure if you get a low reading reading your blood pressure really is low. You can get a high reading and it's just panic.

There are so many more symptoms. Heat intolerance, histamine intolerance, fatigue, feeling extremely ill, weakness, widespread pain and fainting. You feel like your going to die, it’s extremely frightening. I had it from toxic mold exposure and my daughter has it now and has had it for 9 years. It’s completely debilitating and unpredictable. The fact we both experienced it shows a genetic factor I haven’t seen explored. None of the current treatments helped either one of us. I recovered after 6 1/2 years. I recovered on Mother’s Day, the day my daughter moved in with me when she could no longer care for herself. My symptoms simply disappeared and haven’t returned. I’ve been POTS free for 7 years. It vanished as quickly as it plagued me.

Are you guys hypermobile? Many people with POTS have a genetic connective tissue disease called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome type 3. I didn’t even know I had it until my POTS diagnosis.
