The land owners are letting you enjoy their property. If the owner wasn’t there for whatever reason at least they honored your reservation and you had a great time. You should be a bit more grateful and not down grade the farm. I mean, it was 20 dollar that I think you said you even not paid, however you spent who knows what amount of money in the restaurant. That doesn’t talk too good about you both. I was going to subscribe to your Chanel but no thanks.

I have 8 golf cart batteries, 800 watt solar panels and a Dometic 12v refrigerator off grid. The trick is to divide up your loads on separate solar/batteries.. EXPENSIVE yes, but reliable !!

I have been looking up these review videos because I have been thinking about Signing up as a host for HH or BW. We have a farm in the country though, and the road isn't the best?? We have family camp outs all the time but most of the family has tents or pop up campers.

I do not understand what benefit a land owner or business owner would have allowing someone to stay for free on their property. They are assuming a possible insurance liability just to have someone stay at their place for free. Plus they have to greet the person and make sure that the person or people leave when they say they are leaving.

Yellow Post Sites in the forests are doing the same thing. And the rules for Yellow Post Site rules are the same as BLM land rules. But in my travels I have encountered many encampments and the people setting them up claim they don't have an encampment, they are just camping with friends (30 of them). I too, beg people to stop overstaying and to please not litter. I pick up trash, lots of it, literally at every single camp I have been to in the last 3 years. I have even seen nomads that think it's ok to over stay and not keep their trash picked up and a clean camp. They all have this entitlement thing going on and feel they are owed something so they do as they please. It's aggravating to say the least because I am being harassed because of it and I keep to the rules, keep a clean camp, pick up litter from others and dispose of it properly, and I put out illegal campfires. People today have absolutely no respect for others or anyone or anything they come across. I can't believe how people act these days. It's truly appalling.

question: do you take into account that a cruise on Grandeur costs 1/3 of what a cruise on one of the new ships costs ? What costs $1K on Grandeur might well cost $3K on Icon, or Wonder, etc.

Couldn't agree more. My wife and I are very boondock experienced. our new trailer (Coleman Rubicon POS!) came with a 12 volt fridge. Battey monster! I have 4 new golf cart batteries 180w solar on the roof (low-mid quality). 3 days and we had to run the generator with two Battey chargers running for 8 hrs just to save the batteries from damage. First chance we get we're swapping to something with a propane option

I run one small deep cycle battery I replace every 4-5 years (100 bucks) my fridge is a 3-way that I run on propane. Life is good. A friend of mine upgraded to a new RV and the first couple of times out had to run a generator most of the time to keep his single dealer supplied battery and to keep from losing his food in his 12volt. Now he has a small fortune in lithium and a new generator. I prefer propane and really can’t stand the noise of someone running a generator first thing in the in the morning. It’s all about preference and your camping style, if your off grid I would think propane would be the best option but I am not an expert like you 12v fanboys.

We went on grandeur just after covid when it sailed from Barbados. We had a grand suite and it was very tired which was understandable being such an old ship. We also got bed bugs and we ended up with food poisoning from Giovanni‘s. The sun beds on our balcony were covered in paint which wasn’t good considering it was a grand suite plus all the silicone was mouldy around the windows and doors. So unfortunately when we got back we complained about our experience and they refunded the whole cruise back and we will never go on that ship again.

First & last cruise. The pool is microscopic. Food is average at best. Interior is dated & worn. Level 2 smells like musty sewage. It’s for older ppl. If you have kids or like actual nice vacations do not go on this ship. Cozumel port is so run down. Literally a place for Senor Frogs & T shirts.

Crew (or guests) moving/dragging deck chairs around either early in the morning or late at night? Could you hear Late Night partying above? What were the negatives about this particular cabin?

My new furrion 10 cu ft draws 2.4 amp in 70 degree weather and 3.8 in 90 degree weather on off grid setting.

Just got a brand new keystone. It came with one small battery and 220w solar. I started my fridge about 5pm to get things cold before we left the following day. Its a 10 cu ft. fridge. By morning battery was down to 65% after running all night in hot weather. On a cloudy day my battery was back up to 100% within a few hours in 100 degree weather. Fridge has an off grid setting for running on solar

First off I would like to say that your videos are very helpful! Our first cruise is in January on this ship. We had our worries of course because of the mixed reviews. This being our first cruise doesn’t really give us high expectations. I have to ask, what was your favorite ship of all time?

Why do the older ships have the best itineraries. I hate that. I booked this ship for the itinerary. I'm looking forward to the ports we're visiting but I'm afraid I may hate the ship. Glad to see you at least five it a 4 out of 5. That makes me hopeful.

I went on a cruise to Canada on this same ship in May and I was surprised how good the food was on the main dining restaurant compared to the Sea side MSC ship, the buffet restaurant indeed was crowded but I noticed you could find plenty of seating at the end of the buffet restaurant, I have to admit MSC serves the best coffee as well the best pizza. The only complaint I have was the rudeness of many passengers at the buffet cutting in front of people to get food without even saying excuse me, I would definitely go on another cruise vacation on this ship!

I got off this ship on 5-18-24. It was our first cruise. I got 2nd place and then 1st place on rock wall speed competition. The ship was beautiful. Classic and relaxing.

2023 my wife and I cruised this ship. I ended up loving it. I am an a very outgoing person and I felt like a celebrity while on board. It was my second cruise with my wife and my third cruise overall. It is now 5/24. We have six more cruises planned till 12/24. Lucky enough for me our 7/24 cruise will be on the Grandure of the seas. I can't wait. We've cruised mega ship and they're lots of fun but I feel comfy cozy with less people.

Very interesting video and some very helpful comments, have just fitted a solar panel to our VW T5 camper and was looking to go lithium but have my doubts now. The solar seems to manage with the 12v fridge just fine at the moment (it’s summer here) but will probably not keep up with the power draw in the winter and there’s little solar to be had, more research needed !

Several questions. Can you book your times for the Main Dining Room in advance? How much is the Gelato? I heard they charge for a 2nd entree (ridiculous) in the "Complimentary Dining Room"? Not sure if Florida is one of your ports but do they offer an excursion to Disney? How were the lines in the buffet? 🐸

Now I'm bummed out. I decided to grab a quick cruise and haven't been on a cruise in 30 years...this will be my first. Never been on MSC. Two past cruises , long ago, were Royal Caribbean. I'm already disappointed and haven't gotten on the ship yet. I should have done my research before just calling an agent and saying I want a quick cruise to celebrate my birthday! Lessons learned. They did upgrade me to a premium balcony so worse case scenario, I'll be on the balcony looking over the water! I 've lived in Vegas before for many years so I'm not really looking for a "Vegas" cruise. Never been to the Bahamas or Nassau so maybe that alone will make up for anything lacking in the cruise itself.

do either of you know if theres going to be an indoor connection between the two for wintertime?

We just finished a Grandeur cruise and I'd say your review is spot on compared to our experience. Seems like some staff cared, others were fishing for something. For example, my wife on "formal" night had her hair put up at the spa and part way through (a $90 service) started getting harrassed by a sales person trying to sell her additional services. I texted at one point because I thought we'd be late for dinner and she texted back that she was trapped and almost in tears. Would you pay $90 to be in tears? We ate in the dining room most nights and the food was okay, not anything great but EVERY night we got a lecture from, I guess, the dining room manager about how they depended on a survey rating of 10 for their lively hood. What? Don't fish for a rating. On two occasions they asked what else they could do and I said, "Stop bothering us about the rating!" and unfortunately that just resulted in more pestering. Overall, I would never use this ship or this cruise line again. But.... disclaimer, that was the experience my wife and I had, you might have a wonderful experience.

You are way off base. My trailer came with a 165w panel and furrion fridge. All you need is enough battery to make it through the night which has never been a problem. If I run the nonsense too much after sundown I will run a generator for a half hour to make the the batteries are up before bed. When I added Starlink to the mix I am using more than I am producing. I am adding another panel today. The12 v fridge is deeper due to the lack of mechanical crap in the rear. It is free to operate. It cools on startup in 2 to 3 hours. It is a huge upgrade. Period.

As a host I would have to say that some of your information is out of date. I would greatly like to give my take to you on this topic especially considering the unfortunate changes since harvest hosts/boondockers welcome changed hands
