First of a few videos. I can be more specific if you ask, but this is mainly just to keep track of my progress.
F100 crown vic front end measurement
Переглядів 5 тис.6 років тому
I just finished up a crown vic front end swap on my ‘67 F100. This is where my wheels landed and the measurement I used. This is just a recap of what I did. It’s not intended to be a “how to” video.
Where can I buy the motor mount?
I know this video is wicked old but what spring rate did you use in the front? Im doing basically the same build with my 74 and I don't know how much the nose will weigh with the vic setup and lt 5.3 motor
Where did you get the engine mounts
Outcast autoworks
Also what headers did you use
Congratulations on this successful install man! Sounds sick!
Looks good ! Who did you get the motor mounts please
What oil pan was used .
Stock truck pan.
Cool.. doing the same thing on my 57 f100. Just can't make up my mind witch headers to run
Hey man nice build... How is it working out for you after a few years? I'm starting a similar build on a 67 also but I'm going with a manual 5 speed transmission.
Found the site for the engine mounts thank you😊😁
Do you have the part number for the brake master cylinder? Thanks.
What axle did u use looks like crown vic not explorer
crown vic axle
Yoir drinking the right beer !! Modelo time
What after market steering column are you using ?
Summit brand steering column.
Does your front wheels hit front sway bar if turned hard?
I am working on a similar set up in my 73
Do you have pics or a video of how the harness and computer came out?
Good job looks nice. The LS install is real clean, where’d you mount the ecm? I just started a cv front end swap on my ‘70 and am picking up a 6.0 w/4L60E tomorrow.
...and what headers did you use?
You need a C10 to put that power plant in
Finally found a build that is close to what I am building. I have my 72 and an 06 CV. Using everything on running gear from the CV. Motor, trans, drive shaft, rear axle, fuel pump, and most of the wire harness. Mustang tank, triangulated four link (ride tech). What size coil overs did you use and spring rate? I am still working on cleaning up the old brackets on the 8.8. Great looking truck and suspension design.
where did you purchase you 4 link suspension?
Ridetech website
nice truck
Thanks man!
What fuel tank is that for? And the fuel pump
Fuel tank is for a 1970 Mustang. 22 gallon made by Tanks, Inc. The fuel pump is a retro fit pump made by Hyperfuel. Got both from Summit.
@@claytonhubbell9984 okay thanks! Working on something similar but on a 79 F100.
Looks real nice 👍
Really cool man👍🏻. Where in California are ya I’m about to do my 67 6.0 cvs
Ventura
Do you think the ford crown Vick front will work for a 49 f1 with an ls. And what mounts are they?
I’m not sure about 49, I’ve seen a similar set up on a 56. The locator pins on the crown vic front end are 31.5” apart so if your frame rails are close to that, I’m sure it can be done. LS to crown vic mounts are from outcast autoworks.
Clayton Hubbell trucks are new to me I’ve been doing Chevy cars all my life nova and Camaros etc. my most was a 67 with an ls7 but not sure how to tackle this ford but all I know is my ls2 is goingnin there some how
Getting the LS in there is the easy part. There’s plenty of room and the motor mounts from outcast will position it right where you want it. That’s IF the crown vic front sub assembly fits your frame rails.
What part numbers did you use for the fuel tank and pump, I am doing a similar build on a 74
Would like to know to... thanks
I'm interested also lol
Truck is awesome man! Im jelly..
Did you do all the fab for the four link yourself? And what axel are you running in the rear? And lastly how does the driveshaft measure? Is it too short too long? Im looking to do the exact same build but with a single turbo so im curious.
4 link is a ridetech kit. They don’t make a specific kit for this truck so there is quite a bit of fab work to get it set up. Nothing too difficult, I did it all myself. The rear axle is the 8.8 from the crown vic. If I were to do it again I’d use a 8.8 from 1995-2001 Ford Explorer. Explorer is narrower, so more room for wider wheels. Drive shaft had to be custom made. I don’t remember exactly but I think stock shaft was too long.
How is the oil pan clearance. Does it hang lower than the subframe crossmember?
Oil pan is the lowest point. Not by much, but it is lower. I plan to make a skid plate for now, but in the long run will put a shallower pan on it.
+Clayton Hubbell how does the ignition work with the factory computer? Is it an easy setup?
I used a stand alone harness from PSI, so the wiring was pretty straight forward. Takes a lot of patience, but it’s not difficult.
Nice build. Im working on a 5.3 for my 67 also. What headers did you use.
The headers are from speed-engineering.com part number 25-1021 for a C10 truck. they fit really well on my application.
Thanks did you lower the front more after the cv swap or is it stock cv front end
It has Ridetech coilovers in the front, which lowered it about another inch from stock CV height.
Hey I'm thinking about getting a hell cat engine with the computer and every thing with it. Any pointers
No pointers, but good luck on your project!
Engine soports
Nice truck can you provide me formation where you get the motor mountains you see on the video did you get it from a gentleman
Jaime De Alba search for outcast autoworks on google and you’ll find the website. They make mounts for this and set up and more.
Wat part # you us for motor mounts
