You Better Enjoy The Ride You're Not Here Forever

How a simple unplanned motorcycle ride turned into a cathartic look at life . If you didn't know , Memento Mori is a latin phrase that literally means " Remember You must Die". Hey, Terry... 🤔... I think you might remember the TV show "Petticoat Junction" ? And if so, you'll probably remember the intro part that says; "there's Uncle Joe, he's a movin' kinda slow" ... well, my point is... I've become an Uncle Joe. So what the heck makes you think that I can scramble quickly into the comments section, and start a comment, and type in "Honda 550 Four K" with zero typos and and no backspacing or inputting corrections and then find and hit the post button, all in less than 30 seconds 😳😖🤪... maybe 20 or 30 years ago, I was still pretending I could match the speed of "Quickdraw McGraw" or mount a speedy steed like "Dudley DoRight"... but now I can barely find and grab my bifocals and put them on before time runs out 😮😅🤣🤣 Oh, and by the way, I honestly knew it was a Honda, but no way would I have gotten which one, or which year, those 70s Hondas were my favorite bikes when I started riding 😁👌👍

      @joewilcox-qu7he Hey Joe most of the characters I ride with put a nut tight against the inner tube inside the rim .But not tight against the rim on the outside of the rim .they'll put the outside nut up against the bottom side of the valve stem cap.So as long as you have normal pressure in the tire if the tube starts to migrate inside the tire you can see the stem won't be perpendicular to the rim and you can correct the problem before you rip the stem out of the tube .Hope this helps .Good luck and ride safe. Leaking petcock and needle valves are the problems what I have found also in my veteran 125cc 2-stroke bikes. It's really irritating to find petrol everywhere it shouldn't be. As a matter of fact I renewed petcock's seals of 2-3 bikes I own, but the problem continued, until I realized the petcock spring needed re-organizing/stiffening. Watching videos like this from Ryan pays - it makes You better understand what lies behind the problems and You are not alone with these irritating problems getting Your bike again on the road. Getting new petrol valves from EBay is frusthrating because some of them aren't sold anymore, anywhere, for example: Yamaha RD 125 1974 Teihin carbs. I have thought by now that it would be better for me instead trying to find any new ones, but instead try to find and buy a pair of matching Keihin carbs instead. In Europe (I actually have a new repair kit to them) Keihin carbs repair kits are much easily available. Though, I'm still interested if someone have these and is willing to sell buy those new Teihin petrol valve needles. Thank's for the video, I found it most interesting!

    • @TRyanLearnBikes
      @TRyanLearnBikes 9 днів тому

      @juhaposo5742 You raise many interesting points .The fact you're experienced at working on older two strokes and have been able to diagnose problems accurately is worth it weight in gold .We have an uphill battle finding quality parts these days for sure. Especially as OEM bits aren't easily acquired from dealers either. So it leaves us improvising. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave such a great comment. Cheers to you good sir 🍺
