    That’s totally awesome !! 😁👍🏽 You turn the turning manually I see,but what’s moving/driving the router ? I’ll keep looking,but I don’t see it yet.

    • @andrewgarratt5191
      @andrewgarratt5191 5 років тому

      Ohhhhhhh!!!!, they are linked up via the rods,turning the turning is moving the router at the same time! I see now. Did you invent this ? I had to do a barley twist once,my wife was frustrated because she manually turned the lathe while I worked the twist with chisels,if she’d seen this video she’d have slapped the taste buds out my mouth that day. 😂😂

    Hello. What is the maximum length of wood you can put in the router lathe and also what is the maximum diameter of wood you can use please. Also is the same as the trend router lathe .thanks.

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 5 років тому

      The biggest I have used is 750mm long, you could probably go to around 900mm safely. The maximum diameter is 90mm. I don't know the Trend Router Lathe.

    Jason--thanks for posting, great job. I actually just picked up a router crafter today. May I ask--if you are just "rounding" your stock do you hook up the router carriage to the cable?

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 6 років тому

      I round it off in a wood lathe before using the router-carver.You have to hook up he router carriage to the cable, either to the top or bottom, depending if you want to go clockwise or anticlockwise.

    *Works great.>>>**t.co/7CQ7Gl17Au** No need for the more expensive model. We tore down an old post and beam cabin and salvaged a TON of wood. We planed it all with this. Very pleased with the product.*

    Hi again, I doing the doors or the 3 panel in Plexiglas completely, will soften ( heat gun ) in a semi circle on top and then at sides to meet down to the side boards as you have. I'll put latchets on all 3 pieces and adding hinges from the front panel to be able to push it along when not spiraling , it usually doesn't dust at front toward you. or perhaps make a cut groove on the front to move it along and avoid the dust all together. The side panels you have , what size circle you made?? That's all for now, when I accomplish it all I'll make a picture of it and send it to you, thanks again very much.

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 6 років тому

      That sounds interesting. The size of the holes on the sides are 100mm or 4 inch in diameter. I'll look forward to see it when it is finished.

    • @ccccen

      Yes, due to bad back all in wood would be heavier to remove from my router table.

    • @jasonyoung7782

      Yes that's right, they have 5/16-18 4-prong T-Nuts at the back, to hold them on.

    I like the shoe box you made for the crafter, any plans for it? :) I did a 4 ft hollow spiral but it was weak at center and one broke, next time I'll set a wheel at center of the piece so it can remain straight.

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 6 років тому

      I didn't really make any plans, just made it up as I went along using various scrap pieces of wood I had laying around. The measurements for the bottom piece is 1185 mm X 305 mm. The sides are 390 mm X 270 mm. I used 16 mm MDF board, piano hinge, Perspex. Let me know if you want any other measurements. I will upload more video, hopefully this can help you.

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 7 років тому

      Not sure of the manufacturer, I bought it second hand a long time ago. I have modified it a lot, and made the case to enclose it to control the dust.

      The machine is a '' Sears wood crafter '' you can find one at EBay or Craig's list, it's not new but was sold by Sears way back in the 70's but they still remain good.

    • @jasonyoung7782
      @jasonyoung7782 6 років тому

      I just found my owner's manual, it is a Vermont American Router Crafter.

    • @ccccen
      @ccccen 6 років тому

      I'm pretty sure that this machine is a copy of that of the ''Sears Craftsman router crafter'' in which is from the 70's but still around and doing beautiful legs and other stuff. EBay and Craig's list have some but they are asking too much. I bought mine for $30.00 plenty of reading instruction book. there is on UA-cam this Columbian instructor that gives a lot of detail on how it works and the things it does and he do a lot of them. What he doesn't explain you can pick it up from the instruction booklet. If you need translation pls let me know and I'll do it for you ok:) Look for it on '' Arte de Torno , he has around 7 videos on this machine .
