    Good suggestions. Better turn will yield better results. More through the ball swings and less lift/arm swings only. I suggest these to a group I travel with. Many are 70s age. Now, to me. Age 57, pretty good player (3.3 hcp but trending up :( with good speed (DSS is about 98-100) I sometimes get the ball pushed right ever slightly. Hit it dead center but goes to 1:00 vs. target line. When I over compensate it can go 11:00. Both tend to miss greens. My thoughts are lower body is beating upper body on those pushes?? Suggestions welcomed please! Jon, from Iowa, USA

      Thank you for the comment, In answer to your question possibly. Flight always comes down to path and club face. So the pushed shot being the the path is to far to the inside and the face is square to the path. There are loads of reasons this could happen so difficult to say with out seeing it. I personally hate to see the ball start left so I don't mind the slight push but I would work on closing the face to the path slightly and promoting the draw shot.

      @@KevinDelaneyPGA Agree. I do come inside naturally. I'll work on that. Last summer I had a rotator cuff muscle injury. Still lingers after 4 months of treatment. No surgery and I can play. Thankfully, pretty well still. I just have to finish better on swings. That injury I think mentally reminds me about it. Golf. Always something. Take care!

    • @KevinDelaneyPGA
      @KevinDelaneyPGA 6 місяців тому

      It's a good point, I suppose it's personal preference. I know that with the driver, Ping was keen to make the 430 sound better than the 425. It doesn't mean that it will improve performance, but it will improve sales. The irons are different, I know, but for me, I want it to sound good. This iron sounds loud and it can be a little strange. I would say, I have had a few other people hit them, and they have said the same thing. Thank you for the comment though.

  • @richdiorio3650

    Great video. Watched a video by another guy who compared the 430 to the 730 in 5 categories and the 430 won in all 5 categories. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the 2 esp if you get the stronger lofts in the 430's plus the 430 is cheaper. Your thoughts?

    • @KevinDelaneyPGA
      @KevinDelaneyPGA 6 місяців тому

      Thank you, I completely agree for me the 430 are a better club they perform very similar I can't really see the advantage is the 730 considering the price difference. I know that in the shops the 730 is not sold as often and the 430 is a top performing club on sales I think that says a lot.

    All bunk. Only accomplished golfers actually use their body trunk muscles to turn back. Instead of using them they allow them to remain dormant or "followers". You have to actually activate the muscles on your body trunk which are located just above your belt line. It might be hard to do at first when you have not done that all of your life. Even touring pros often do a mock take away on every swing just to be sure their brain knows which one's to activate. I do two practice take always myself. This is why Nicklaus insisted all his life that the first two inches of the take away is the most important part of the swing. This is where you must do that because it is the only place you can. It is also how you bring your range game to the first tee. You are taking out most of the need for timing. Touring pros call this "tightening up" their swing or getting "connected". Their arms and shoulders only go along for the ride in a connected fashion. Note how "short" a lot of players are getting today. Now you know why. You have same of more power besides. Saved me as I got older. An arm and shoulder swing is all timing and as you get older it does not work anymore. Basically you are going to a body based swing also known as "the modern golf swing". Body muscles and not leg drive is providing the power like they did in the old days. Even Nicklaus has said he would use that swing if starting out today. He was a leg drive man like Johnny Miller and Billy Casper.

      There are numerous ways to get it done. Like all videos on this platform, the advice given must be tailored to a specific individual and may not be suitable for everyone. This video is primarily aimed at individuals with poor flexibility who need some assistance. Dismissing it as "all bunk" is quite disrespectful. I am simply demonstrating something that has helped my clients. Comparing an average club golfer with these issues to prime Jack Nicklaus, Billy Casper, or any tour pro is like night and day. With that said, thank you for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. It's always good to receive comments, and your feedback is appreciated.

      @@KevinDelaneyPGA Sorry, but telling anyone to use their shoulder, arm, and legs to turn back is like telling them to remain a hack. I changed over because I did get old and inflexible. I was thinking about quitting the game for old age. And I luckily discovered the solution form GOLF MAGAZINE in a 3 part series and extensive computer analysis on 600 people.. It extended my playing days by 15 years. And that IS worth passing on. What you advocate is all bunk. Suck it up and get yourself up to speed.. If you don't use your body muscles of course they are going to get stiff at any age.

      @@mesillahills Wow, three whole magazines! I'm impressed. Clearly, my decades of experience can’t compete with a 3-part series and computer analysis on 600 people. Silly me for advocating a holistic approach that’s worked for countless others. Maybe next time I'll just hand out copies of Golf Magazine at my lessons. For the record, I never said all tips work for everybody. If it works for you, great! If not, fine-just move on. As for "suck it up and get up to speed," thanks for the pep talk! I'll get right on that... right after I finish reading more revolutionary tips from the latest issue. Happy hacking! 😉 #ExpertInThreeMagazines #GolfGuru #SuckingItUpAndSpeedingUp #ToEachTheirOwn

      @@KevinDelaneyPGA Not only that but 200 of them were active touring pros and the 400 were assorted handicaps. Then they hired really talented artists to do full page and color pictures of the differences and it went on for 3 months. What I saw in the don't do pictures was exactly my swing. I knew in no uncertain terms why I was ready to quite the game. After a lot of time on the range I went on to scratch golf all through my 60's and early 70's. My timing had become such as mess with all those movements I could not keep the ball on the golf course any longer. When I was younger my lateral slide kept me straight but I could not do that anymore as I got older. It all started with Curtis Strange's back to back U.S. Open victories. Jimmy Ballard is the father of the modern golf swing.

  • @johnreeder8125
    @johnreeder8125 6 місяців тому

    Great advice. I have always had a short backswing but as I get older and will get less supple I thought it sensible to try to create more turn while I can. I was frightened I’d not be able to hit the ball (small changes are hard!) but realised I can actually do it and it does help with a better swing path. The idea a getting the shoulder past the ball is helpful to me. It’s most helpful with driver. Thank you.

  • @noahtruth6554

    It’s no surprise that a person that hits a draw turns the ball left. A more realistic test would be to have an actual slicer demo the SFT.

    • @KevinDelaneyPGA

    Thank you. Turning the body has gotta be one of the hardest things to get right especially if like me you played for years without giving it any thought.

      Completely agree I think flexibility and movement can be overlooked as we focus on other areas of the game

    Hey Kevin, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel

    Thanks for that reminder about the club face matching the spine angle. That is genuinely one of the things that has improved my golf over the last year. The other is not cupping the wrist at too. Nice one.

    Nice review. Is there anything worth knowing about the difference between retro and power spec lofts or is it just a question of taste/preference (or is it just marketing?)

    • @KevinDelaneyPGA
      @KevinDelaneyPGA 9 місяців тому

      Good questionnretronlofs are weaker and better for shorter hitters power spec is supposed to be for powerful golfers

      @@KevinDelaneyPGAWith all due respect, I believe power spec is a stronger loft to give weaker swings more distance and retro lofts are weaker because stronger swings don’t need the help for distance. I could be off though.

    Good video. Your videos would benefit from having a proper mic setup.

      Agreed I have a good shot gun mic but sometimes the sound can be lost a bit even indoors

    This guy must be new doing this showed practically nothing of the club itself.compare the head to other ping forgiving club with a closeup

      Only been doing it for a couple of years, always trying to get better. I tried to show the graphics on screen to give a better look at the club. Fair point could have put it next to another club to show that its bigger. Sometimes that can get lost though in a video depending on the screen you are using

    You should have a closeup of the iron so we could look at it as if we are going to hit it.

    I really like the sticker idea. I’m starting to understand the importance of the club face position on takeaway and it’s made my striking much more consistent and helped my confidence.

      The stickers work as a good visual aid helps to really get the point across

    Agree. The slight mark from a wedge, branch or cart path will not have drastic changes. All depends on what level of wear is on a ball. Maybe do the test into a green from 100 yards? See if they are worse in that area. Thanks!

    • @KevinDelaneyPGA
      @KevinDelaneyPGA 9 місяців тому

      Could be worth a go, I did this because my golf spy said that you lost 30 yards from worn golf balls but in truth there was no difference in both my tests. The only time it was affected was when the ball wasn't round, liggtlybworn golf balls are fine.

      @@KevinDelaneyPGA Agree. Also agree on the refurbished balls. Painted over other name balls to look like ProV1. Found balls of mint quality are fine never had an issue.
