Приєднався 19 гру 2013
My goals are modest... I like to tinker with things in my basement workshop. I decided to try my hand at youtube Basically, I like to play around with my hobbies and film it.
I'm inspired by folks like AvE, Jeri Ellsworth, This Old Tony, mrPete, BigClive and many many more.
I have many interests and hobbies. I like to do things like rebuild/refurbish vintage tools, vintage electronics (ham radio, televisions etc)
and old machinery. I like to make new things from old things or Make old thing do new things.
Mostly I want to invite like-minded folks into my shop and share my experiences. I also would like to see what they are doing.
If your a maker type person of or a DIY type come on into my shop have a beer say hello :) constructive feedback welcome and encouraged
Cheers :)
I am in it for fun... Not much on the channel yet as I am just learning how to play with the medium

@@John_Doe62 dont do it... i quit 4 yrs ago
Men were men back then, lighting their Player's unfiltered off that thing, then leaving the kids in the car when they stopped at the bar on the way home. "Don't touch the radio!"
@robmarsh6668 funny thing i actually quit since this video... no longer a slave to nicotine:)
@@Drifter69 That's good to hear. Cheers to you
Ive got a 1909 Otto Bernz kerosene torch i haven't fired it up yet i just got a leather washer never heard of one until now but im going to put it in and fire it up hopefully I won't blow up any suggestions 😅...dont do it just joking have a nice day 😊😅
should be relatively safe with kerosene .. its not fumey ...
We buy Porter Cable at Tractor Supply here in the US. I prefer their power tools.
Mazotla çalışan pürmüz yapabilirmsiniz
Don't you use Coleman fuel
Kerosene
They both are owned by Stanley black and decker so same shit different name
This thing is SCARY! A health inspector's nightmare!
It's running ragged because it's not for gasoline. Its for lower grade fuels.
I found one of these in the garage of the house I bought, never knew exactly what it was until now! Thought it was some sort of acetylene lamp or torch type deal. This is awesome, gonna go see if I can blow myself up now! Good times!
Remember to stop, drop, and roll 😅
I was watching a video a while back and the lady was using one. I was going to look for one on eBay, but when I was putting salt in the softener, I noticed one sitting on a shelf. It's crazy how easily we look right past something just because it's not familiar!
OH the bottom with fill hole is sort of funnel shaped! That helps with building the pressure, too..
Buddy you are my hero
It's good for hunting beasts
Can you burn kerosene in it?
Can you interchange the batteries?
You need a adapter
craftsman, dewalt, and porter cable are all basically the same thing.
New ones are still made in Ukraine but they're steel not brass. The old Turners etc are less corrosion prone. Those torches are as safe as they ever were in good condition. They were designed for daily trades use. Mine works fine.
Great tool I have it and I use it for many good projects that I have had 💪🔥💪
Are the batteries interchangeable?
Cool, glad to see someone still firing one uo
If you still have try it with kerosene it’s safer,
This is not a gasoline torch, this is a kerosene torch, good didn’t explode with you, my dad had many he used to use them to burn Knots on wood boards,
This design is specifically for Gasoline... They even say it on the side. A series of valves stops the flame from going inside the vessel.
I don’t think I’ve seen a shittier explanatory video ever. Smoke another joint ffs
Definitely Craftsman. I like the brand better. I use only Dewalt for my work. Last longer amd very tuff
Porter cable is the one I’d go with
Porter Cable disappeared and Craftsman is all you can find in 2022... I'm kind of sad. I made the same mistake and now I'm forced to buy new tools and I'm so angry about it...
Far as I'm concerned you really can't go wrong either way They'll get the job done whenever you use them
Very cool and clear video, great instructions. I was just trying out my torches, purchased at scrapyards for pennies - despite being older than me, they all fired up pretty much fine - although the jets got clogged up after a while, probably due to some old gasoline residue that was still inside. For something so relatively simple, they pack a lot of power - the biggest one I have produces a flame well over a foot in lenght!
Very clear video? What were you watching
This is not a gasoline (petrol) blowtorch, it's kerosine or Paraffin.
How do you know ? It looks like a Butler blow torch to me and afaik many were gasoline powered although some were able to be ran on kerosene... do you know which torch this is ? blowlamp.co.uk/MY%20WEBS/index2.htm
loved the stream man! :)
Lowes is going all out with Craftsman. I bought the 6 tool kit combo today. I don't think I saw any Porter Cable stuff. I passed on Porter Cable after watching several UA-cam comparison videos on them. I remember Porter Cable struggled in some tests. Also Porter Cable is a little more expensive which also influenced my decision. I also saw a test of the Craftsman impact driver removing and tightening lug nuts. That sold me.
I am very happy that you like my story, it is 100% lived, and 100% sweating, 100% of sleepless nights to develop this and that.
what is your question?
How do you mean ? ( the bot thing was ment for a different comment from someone else ... for some reason my response attached to your comment .. sorry, i removed it once i realized it happened :)
Sir, given my age (70 years) and since I have always been involved in technique, when I say something, it is the result of a long experience, in the jargon this is called: "to have a lot of kilometers on the clock! ". It is impossible to summarize in a few innocuous profane words sorry.
@@albertinomodonutti4658 it is folks like you I enjoy learning new things from... I wish the world was smaller so that i could invite you all over for a beer :)
It is still useful to share a little of his experience, to instruct young people. But there is a phenomenon that is present in most young people, they cannot bear to have lessons from someone older than them. From people of their generation, this is the only advice they accept. When someone mentions such a technology, and it is from a date prior to their birth, the remark is always the same: “there I was not yet born”. So we can say by transitivity that everything that existed before their birth, for them it never existed, it never product. Everything that was before their existence, passed over in silence. We can say that they carry out revisionism without wanting it, without knowing it. She is beautiful today's youth! Now the concept very relative to the smallness of the planet, it due to the application of technology. Indeed in prehistory, it took 1000 years to go from point A to point B. With technology, wheels, horse-drawn vehicles, engines, planes, etc., the distances will be relatively shortened. You can move from one point to another on the planet in just a few hours. Moreover, we notice the goodness of this method by moving pandemics in just a few hours, all over the globe.
Consumer products In Asian manufacturing there is good and bad. The chapter: drills. In the 40s'-50'-60'-70 ', it was always an adventure to perform in the wood (tender or hard) A 5 mm hole, and in the metal it was, for Mr. Everyone, mission impossible. The price of Electric drills was prohibitive for someone non-professional. So to perform a hole In the wood, for audacity, used an old used mechanical chignole. To do the same Hole in the metal, it was the obstacle course. All weekend was taken to perform some anodine operation. To pierce in the stone or in the brick, there was a special wick used with a mandrel and tapped with a hammer, again it was a whole program, the Sparadraps and the Mercochrome were essential. In old walls, we were doing a big Hole we placed a wooden cube, and all fixed with fast-taking plaster. To make DIY in this way, it took a lot of time. From the 70s' that existed metabo percussion drills, 100% aluminum, but it was necessary to save 7 months to get it. But Black and Decker combined drills started to see the day and at affordable prices. All this made in Europe. And plastic started little by little to be an integral part, electrical appliances. This implies that there was double electrical insulation, and consequently, they no longer needed grounding. The chapter: Calculators. I took courses on the night for more than 12 years, and until 1976, we had to calculate moderately a calculation rule, certainly he had HP scientists (HP 45, HP 67 A magnetic cards) but it had to Winning the lottery to pay one. In 1976 at Photo Hall we could buy HP 21 has Very affordable price of Asian manufacturing. The chapter: television. In the years 40'-50'-60'-70'-80 ', to obtain a position it was necessary to save more than a year, Because these positions were made in Europe, and their manufacture was very expensive. Most, to see the programs, they went to the cafes. These positions were mediocre from the point of Design view, especially those with lamps. They fell very often down. In these times, do the HiFi tv denial was a very profitable profession, I can affirm it because I am an electronic Graduate and ex convenience store. With the semiconductor event (transistors, integrated circuits and finally Microprocessors MOST FET) The reliability of these products, is an exceptional reliability, the number Faults is very rare. For example flat screen TVs. The electronics is omnipresent in almost all electrical appliances. Alas, they are of absolute invulnerability to an average IM, which can bring us back to an electronic lamps technology 40 '. I can deepen this important topic, but it is very vast. To say what is better between the old and the Modern, the discussion is as exciting as useless.
🤩
Hey, how is your TH42 project going? Did you finish it?
Im trying to find time to get back to it... the shop had fallen into chaos, life got complicated and busy (work life etc). I need to clear out the unnecessary.. and get back to it.. shop adhd lol
If you need the gear cover I have a couple of them
Actually ordered one of ebay awhile ago.. thank you for the offer though
Both are good! I went with porter cable!
Hello, leave some feedback, subscribe or something. Done. Nice to meet ya.
Hiya how is it going :) ... the project kinda got shelfed... i plan to get back to it soon
@@Drifter69 understood!! I look forward to seeing you wrap it up and turn some cool stuff!
Gasoline will work but not as many BTUs as white gas. Any kind of naphtha is what that thing should be running. As far as volitility, naphtha is one step below jet fuel

Porter cables not gone
Ave he the mad Canadian scientist love his channel if you're Canadian here in the states Porter-Cable just struck a deal with tractor supply which is like a farm and feed store that sells like all kind of stuff for forms clothes work year car stuff dog and cat food and stuff for horses yeah that same kit for $99 American dollars
I'm pretty sure craftsman will eventually replace porter cable and PC will be phased out by black and decker.
seen one of these on a auction was thinking on getting it... now not going to happen to unpredictable good for a backup if you have nothing else though.
Not any more dangerous than a propane torch, just gotta know what you are doing.
Torque test????
I ended up getting a bosch set so this video no longer matters
You always wonder why over 90% men in 1800s have few less fingers lol
They're not that old these were used up until the mid/late 50's
not that old they came out around the 1920’s
Dam,I thought this was the churchvthat passes blow torches in pews so kids, grandmas, tottering can touch it.
Touch the torch... you know you want to
DO NOT use gasoline for these. Just use Coleman camp fuel.
Likely good advice :) gonna try kerosene next time to see if it will run
Then Coleman fuel
