    I have a Wren too :)

I have my 1st pair of House Wrens nesting in my yard in a bird house I put in a dogwood tree. I named the male Harold. He has such a beautiful song and is always chattering about. I made the mistake 2 days ago of playing house wren calls on my phone while sitting on the back patio watching them. He was not happy. He just started singing louder and was hopping from tree to tree trying to get a better look at me. Even after I stopped, he was following me around the yard 'yelling' at me lol. I didn't realize until after I watched some vids that these birds were so highly territorial! But they are a welcome addition to my yard, and I hope they chase away some of these House Sparrows and Starlings! My yard is infested with them!

Doesn't opening his nesting box as he's building it deter him from using it? I always pretend I don't know there's a nest when I walk by my birdhouse so they don't get nervous.

I didn't realize a single bird would build a nest before finding a sweetheart. The mate who chooses Terrance is one lucky girl. ❤

I could hear the wrens in the neighborhood already, so I put up a little house. About a week later, there they were, fussing at me for being outside. I told them they would get used to the dog and me being around. I am SO EXCITED!!!! Their song is my favorite bird song!

Did they end up getting used to you? I have my 1st pair nesting this year in a birdhouse I put up in one of my dogwoods. I love listening to their songs and watching them flutter about.

These birds are extremely territorial and very destructive to other nesting birds. Not just other cavity nesters, but basically any other nest in what they perceive as their territory. They will kill the eggs and nestlings. They make a nest in just about everything and anything and are quite prolific. I discourage them from nesting on my property because they are more of a threat to native songbirds than non native species such as starlings and house sparrows. They are notorious for poking holes in the eggs of robins and bluebirds. While they are cute, we need to look at the whole picture.

I'm glad to come across your channel and hope you still have Terrance. I live on outskirts of Atlanta going toward Alabama and I have Wrens,Cardinals,Swallow, Georgia Brown Thrashers. They love most nuts, cashews, walnuts, almonds, and, pecans. Peanuts they don't like, must be allergic. 😄 I saw them eating cantaloupe, watermelon, and, strawberries I fed the rabbit who hangs around. You're right about how loud they can get. I have one who's scared me a few times by unexpectedly whistling close to me. I hear him off in the direction of my neighbor and she tells me "my" bird visited her. So funny that her daughter said that's Mrs.C's bird and don't mess with it. I've named a few and the rabbit is"Bird Bunny"due to coming around when I called the birds. I hope you enjoyed my little story 💕 I really love your channel.

My cat brought me one today, she carried it in, set it down, I went to pick it up. It opened one eye and flew off. He’s hiding behind my dads bed as he had to give up the pillow but we have left the window open as wide as we can hoping he can find it come daylight. I love cats, but not the mass murderer aspect.

If you have wrens, you won't have many song birds. Although they are not a song bird, even robins shy away from wrens.

I think wrens are the most expressive birds ive seen apart from Chickadees... Wrens dont appear to be afraid of much and act incredibly brazen when around humans ..no fear ..only curiosity & need for survival.. I think this is very cool bird to learn about in the beginning stages of studying birds .. but i still always try and maintain a respectful distance.. The human Giant im sure i appear to be .. 💛😅
