You're wrong. Dreadnought are sleeping for so long that the empire only woke them up when the battle sparked. On the other hand, helbrut is the opposite of Dreadnought. Helbrut pilot never kept them sleep and let them live in constant pain and agony

This is probably the dumbest thing in warhammer. You know what would work equally well? a chute. there's grimdark and then there's edgey for the sake of one uping the stupid edge lore already established.

I hope sm3 we fight eldar and necrons. Chaos can take a back seat. Pvp as eldar or necrons would be legit too.

Small correction The age at which child can become astartes is 8-11years old, with training, surgery and mind-indoctrination finisged by the age of 16-18 years old. After which they serve in 10th company (Scout company) to learn the basics, scouting, target-identification etc - you know, field experience Then Devastators - teaching them that they are a weapon and finally doning their full Power Armor.They possess weapons that are the biggest one in town, and they're supposed to use it TACTICALLY so. Then they become Assault Marines - stripping them oway from big gun and placing them on a 1st line of attack. This is the part where they "learn" how to go first-in-last-out style, to get used to close & personal fighting Astartes EXCELL at And THEN - at long last - they become Tactical Marines, able to utilise all previous weapons, tactics and apply them accordingly to the situation. All of which usually takes up to a 100 years - depending on the potential of a Marine & the chapter itself.

Astartes can live much longer than 200 years old, but 200 is the average age they reach before being killed in battle or by some other means. They can also essentially shut down their entire body when they receive a mortal wound and put themselves in a sort of stasis so they have a better chance of not succumbing to their injuries. The oldest known space marine, Gravius, entered this state of suspended animation during the Horus heresy and remained that way for 10,000 years, but he had all but lost his mind and was essentially fused with his armor and whatever he was sitting on, so he was put out of his misery when his battle brothers found him.

Who are the Guardsmen? Corpses and corpses to be, and by the throne they wouldn’t choose any other life. If 10,000 die to kill a single squad of enemies, that’s a victory.
