This will stop the major of damage to my steering components. I have not experienced any damage on either my Ryft or Bomber since installing this draglink on them. They have even provided protection during severe crashes. The link is normally solid but will give way due to the springs ahead of the point where damage would occur. I do not expect it to reduce my steering effectiveness at all duri...

This is the test run after replacing multiple damaged parts from the last time. Upgrades include a Treal front axle housing, Protek 370TBL servo, Vader skidplate, and upgraded shock bands. I found one issue regarding the dig servo but it did not affect the test drive. A new dig servo has been installed since the filming of this video. Everything is operating as it should now.

Red Rock Reservoir Level / Redcat Gen 7 - July 19, 2024

Looks like you bent the lower arms, that will also exacerbate the clearance issue unless you use longer lower arms to rotate the pinion away from the wishbone, or go 4 link.
@@JamesMcNamara-j1g I had to bend it that severely to make it equal the length of the stock piece. The pinion angle is unchanged.
well sorted. Shows our insanity building these things. Never-ending. I have no desire to seriously compete because it will cost me more time and money that I am already exceeding my plans. Bought and built a very mild build of an Everest 10 for my 10yr-old nephew. Just finished a build of a Gen 7 sport for my old son's best friend. It now has a bunch of pro parts and other stuff to make it capable, but not a serious rig. About to do a very mild build on a Gen 7 pro for my brother-in-law so he can wheel with fore-mentioned nephew. Technically we don't have a lot of RCs except we kinda do. I am about to embark on a quest to make all the old toy-grade RCs we have from when the boys were growing up into somewhat hobby-grade RCs. Servos, receivers, ESCs, new motorvation, etc. Nothing crazy, but lets explore what more these can do because the only reason we advanced to bigger/better stuff was because we exhausted what those were capable of.
@@douggregoryHOTMotorsports I have wanted to take a toy grade boat and update it with big electronics and motors. Best of luck with your plans. Get it on video. : )

Very cool video, very well put together and very informative. I'm definitely a beginner, I only started the scene a few weeks ago, I've never actually owned 'axial SCX24' as such, I made my rig from aftermarket parts..... injora 50t pro brushed motor, servo, servo horn, esc, skid plate, stainless high clearance links, king trekker tyres, I used the meus isokinetic axle's and the meus 'ultra 4' style hard body bronco, I used some red spider wheels that I liked the look of and the proline big bore oil filled shocks. I'm wondering if I made a mistake by not actually owning the axial SCX24 to begin with as I don't know if mine is an improved version or not 😳 what are your thoughts on this? Cheers👍
Build everything you can. Every time you do it teaches you which things work and which ones don’t. Every component is replaceable. Don’t worry about messing up. I enjoy building almost as much as driving.
@@EXPIOWA thank you for the reply and the extra advice 😎👍yeah I'm totally in agreement with you, there's lots of fun to be had in the development process side of things. My sons 5th birthday is coming up. He's absolutely besotted with the rig I've built, so my plan is to get him the standard blue hard body bronco and all of the parts to take it to the next level, this way we can build it together, I guess then we'll get to see the true transformation from stock to modified 🤞😎 do you have any recommendations on parts for him or does what I have on mine sound like a decent formula to you? Cheers👍
