Mock up bent tube in 1 degree increments
Переглядів 63Рік тому
These are 3d printed mock up bent tube pieces I make. It allows to mock up from 5 degrees to around 120 degree bends. Each piece twist locks together and pieces are added or subtracted to get the desired bend degrees. I have tested them from as small as one inch tube with a 3" radius and up to a 2" tube with a 7" radius. The ends are sized to slide into tube so they can be used to help visualiz...
Stop your welder from getting stuck on the cord.
Переглядів 181Рік тому
With the layout of my shop I always have cords of some sort laying on the ground. Anytime I went to move it my cart would hit a cord and stop. I would have to move the cord and then move a few feet and would run into the cord again. So I printed these skirts that go around the rear wheels and keep it from getting hung up. northpeak4x4.com northpeak4x4@gmailcom
Tube Bed Rebuild for my Ford Ranger Part 1

This is the rebuild of the tube bed on my 1993 Ford Ranger. With a standard cab storage is limited. I needed to increase storage in general and also more dry storage. This is how I am trying to accomplish this.
3d printed lower die for the Swag Offroad finger brake
Переглядів 351Рік тому
This shows a new lower die insert that I 3D printed to put into my Swag Offroad finger brake. I have seen people use various pieces of angle iron to make the lower die opening smaller. I decided to try this instead. I used 3/8" round rod inset into the print to be the point the steel touches to bend against. Would this hold up for production use? Probably not but if you are bending with a Swag ...

After 12 years I managed to have both front springs fall out at different times on a recent trip across the Dusy Ershim Trail. So I cut the brackets off and redesigned them. While working on them I found the drivers side coil bucket lose and had cracked the frame behind it. northpeak4x4.com morthpeak4x4@gmail.com

Marking jack stands to make it easier to set to the same height
Переглядів 703 роки тому
I got sick of counting teeth to make sure I set jack stands at the height. Took some left over paint of different colors and painted the teeth different colors. now you just line up the colors and you are at the same height. I should have done this years ago.

Strong work, can you perhaps look for some blacktail up north for me?
This is exactly what I’m wanting to build. Any info, or cad models you’d be willing to share for the main structure?
Wish I had seen this video about 6 weeks ago :) I have been cruising salvage yards for aluminum and I thought I had scored big time when I found a 10 foot 2x9 3/16ths extruded beam (80lbs). I was going to drill 4 inch holes strategically on both sides to lighten the beam. I thought I could knock off at least 40lbs doing that, but you have me rethinking the plan. The gantry was going to be on the 8 foot side, of a 4x8 table. Really really really like your water pan and air pressure, I am going to do that for sure. Really appreciate your explanations. Two questions if you have time, It looks like you did a 2x2 steel frame, is it 1/8th wall or thicker? Does your gantry run on bearings as well as slides? Great video, loved it good job!
@@c2jacks frame is 3x3x.120 wall square tube. Both axis run in linear rails and bearings.
Have you ever thought of selling the plans for it? I've sure many of us would buy it.
Hi.. what do you call that water filling systems so i can Google how to make one for my table.. please thanks
What kind of laptop are you using? Brand, how much memory?
@ethanmorehead8386 it is a 4 year old gaming laptop I bought from Costco. Running the table itself doesn't take much of a computer. Using Fusion 360 and my 3d scanner are what max out the computer. My plasm software would probably work on about any new laptop that is currently sold.
If the only thing I have is a 1350 can that fit on a 1995 ranger?
@charliesosa5299 it can but the front driveshaft will be different. You will also need to make sure you get the correct shifter linkage to match the transmission and t case.
That’s in great shape. Where are you located? You do some great work
That was impressive.
thats a great truck
Thank you 👍
My guy! I love this!!!
Nice work man glad you got it all figured out.
Gotta see this next time I'm by!
Very nice for it's age, still got a lot of good years left in her.
This is great!
Looks identical to Justin’s from the fabrication series
That is where I got the idea. His is definitely nicer.
Badass!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Nice job. Awesome products you make. Wondering if you have any for sale?
Yes. I can sell it in a kit form that you weld together. Email me at northpeak4x4@gmail.com for more information.
very nice ,how does it work on hiway or on the rough road? deleted tursion bars?
Very sweet would you be willing to share the file? Nicely done !
Will this kit work for a 1995 ford explorer sport?
Nice job. You should get pics of the bumper painted, will help to sell it.
Nice video, useful thank you.
Offset forks are for the 1350. Straight forks are for the 1354. Short forks are for TK5 and FM145. Long forks for fm146 A4LD and M5OD.
Super cool but what’s the price?
Email me at northpeak4x4@gmail.com for more info. I need a zip code to calculate shipping.
Nice job!
Id like to make my 97 ranger 4×4 but id like to use what came from the factory. What do you recommend i do?
You will need to convert the transmission to 4wd or swap it out. A 1354 case. Then if you want to use all the factory front suspension you also need to swap the motor crossmember.
@northpeak4x4 would I be able to keep the automatic transmission function, or does it have to become manual?
@tacticalpalatero4479 yes you can keep an auto. A manual shift 1354 will be easier then an electric shift t case.
Still making these? I see theyre still on your site but i read somewhere you stopped making them? Looking to finally start my ranger project i planned before C19
Still making them. Email me at northpeak4x4@gmail.com or use the contact form on the website for ordering information.
cool grinding table!
Where did you get the rack and pinion from?
Automation-overstock.com No affiliation at all with them all of the slides and rails came from them as well.
I dig the set up!
Where you located I’m in Fresno with a 94 ranger in process of sas

can you make video to show us how plasma work and also can you show us the parts of table . thanks
glad to see it done! far cry from when i last saw it. and not sure if i just missed it (i was watching over lunch break this afternoon) but i didn't hear anything about the coke storage.
Thanks for the inspiration, that is an awesome bed. Hope to build up my 04 in a similar way.
Pretty sick bed.

thats great, nice work very robust
Sweet rig
Looking to put a 2002-2003 manual shift 1354 into my 98 but there rare. Anyway to convert a 96-97 manual shift 1354 to work in my 98?
What issue would there be to adapt? If you're thinking front driveshaft go talk to a driveshaft shop to build one with the older transfer case side and front to match the 98.
@@ponyboi.gamer36 I was thinking the hard parts in the transfer case itself. I know the way the front driveshaft mounts to it is different -97 to 98-11
1354 to 1354 should be same internals minus the shift mechanism. The outter case on the manual shift is different too but bolting up the older one shouldn't be an issue as the A4ld and 4r or 5r auto trans all have the same output spline and bolt pattern. You would be better off just bolting the older 1354 to the newer trans
Gonna sell them? Sell the STL's? Or share them on Printables? Brilliant idea!
Thoughtful, beautiful build! Great ideas and innovation!
What does it take to put a 6 pinion into a 1350? Does it go right in or is it more complicated than that?
It pretty much dropped right in. You might have to use the 1354 shift fork as well. It was like 15 years ago when I did it, and I don't remember all the details. I know I used whatever parts I had between the two cases, and I didn't need any special machining to make it work. I also used the parts out of an electric shift 1354 to put into my manual 1350 case.
@northpeak4x4 Thank you for the info!
Brilliant!

@North Peak 4x4 thanks. I will PayPal you soon. Will these work with vertex coilovers
@@marcusglover9639 I have never heard of Vertex Shocks. I designed it around the Fox coilovers.
@North Peak 4x4 oh ok I'll go with fox
The little things in life.
You can 3d print a secondary torch mount to eliminate some of the slop I would also line the ebay mount with neoprene to cushion the extra space.also I would look into an Anti corrosive additive for your water. Or a better one for it if you are using it. There still seems to be some rust on your slats. And even just having that (none on the pan or whatever) can cause issues down the road.
Awesome build so far are you going to be putting or making rear bumpers on your website?
Eventually yes I plan to make a kit that fits a ranger with the stock bed on it. This specific bumper won't fit the stock bed. It was designed just for my truck.
@@northpeak4x4 awesome and at some point I plan on getting one of you're front bumpers and console
Thing is sweet, getting ready to build my 96, currently has fac🌲 bed with an are fiberglass tannue cover with lids, but really debating a flatbed, yours looks great
