Hi chodeshadar18, the kit is one of the repops of the original they released a few years back. I baught it from my go to retailer who has a Facebook shop as well as a physical shop. Fair comment, I was only annoyed because I didn't follow my own advice to wait until the paint had fully dried. Well, I think that was of the reason why the paint lifted or it could be just one of those things.

Hi Neil, I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. I'm busy preparing my next build. You can absolutely use decals for the pattern. I did consider that myself when I was in the planning stage. One of the main reasons why I didn't was my printer. Even if I put the dpi above 600 I would only achieve around 35 to 50% colour depth. I wouldn't do it as strips though that could lead to stepping. I would overlay the pattern and make sections to print out as a decal sheet. I could do a video if you are not too sure how to go about it.

@@ReckshawScaleModels Yes, I thought you might suggest something like that as I recall you designing and printing your own decals for something - was it aztecs for another Enterprise?

@@neilhughes9310 yeah I did the aztec decals for the NX, A, B, D and E. For the into darkness Enterprise I made a template and painting them in.

@@stevenwheaton874 thanks Steven. I actually finished the build at the weekend. Lots of video editing to do now. I'm debating if I should load up the videos as I do them or staggered to one every three days. It all depends on how quickly I can edit them though.

Welcome back Steven, the Enterprise D turned out of, the E I wasn't too happy with, my painting could have been much better. This one is just to see how it would look with a tartan pattern. I've got a couple in my stash so my thoughts are if I screw it up it won't really matter.

Hi Steve, wow those prices have shot up. I think I paid around £20 for this one a couple of years ago. I must be lucky because the 1/350 original and A and refit Enterprises where around the £60 mark. I think I've got the moonraker shuttle also or that may belong to the wife. I do like those amt kits, yeah they are smillians more often or not they are fitting issues, probably more so with the star trek kits but they are fun to build.

I didn't realise there was sound problems I'll look onto that.

Hi Neil l used to sigh when I opened a kit and the track links are individual, needing to be made up, Meng kits are known for this. But I do prefer that too those rubber ones.

Hi Steve, I have built the Tamiya Churchill, If memory serves I placed it in a War of the Worlds Diorama I built for a friend a few years ago. I remember it was a good basic build which you expect from Tamiya armorour at that price point.

Hi David, this kit's release was back in 2011 however the mold is from its original MPC 1978 kit later taken on by Airfix in 1980. The 2011 version has new decals and the new parts from the 2006 release. There is another release of the kit for this year but it is still the same as the 2011 kit I believe. Reckshaw Scale Models is just the name of my UA-cam channel, Reckshaw is my gaming name that I’ve used since the 1990s. The story behind it is too long in the telling. Thanks for watching.

@@ReckshawScaleModels , thanks for all your information. I enjoy learning the background of the kits I like, and the various vehicles (planes, ships, tanks, etc.) they represent. A "shaw" is a line or section of trees along a farm or landed estate.

Hi Neil, the track on this one are a pain if I'm being honest. That's mostly down to the soft plastic they are made from, it is always difficult to get the paint to stick to that type of plastic. Hover-tanks would be cool but my brother may have a different opinion, he has many stories (not sure if I believe him) on how he managed to crash and sink his Challenger II. I could imagine the chaos he would cause in a Hover-tank 🤣

Hi Penny, the tracks on tanks are always the tricky part for me. The springs on this kit are something else, I've never came across that set up before.

hi Neil, those spring are something else, I do sort of like them though. I did think about building the bundle but thought better of it. I didn't won't to add the extra weight to he front and risk it tail sitting.

Hi Neil, I think your right about the 5.5 gun and Matador, I don't know if one is out there but I think it what be good to see that set in a 1/35 scale. The thing that really amuses me is that I did a 15 minute video having a go at the fact the instructions are wrong. It was only at the end of editing the video that it was me who got it wrong. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Hi Neil, I should take my own advice some times. Just the other day while at the bench I was modifying a kit. Removing some plastic I managed to let the hobby knife slip and push the tip onto my finger. Not a large cut but deep since it was a new blade. After calling for the medic and explaing to the wife why my sare wee finger has devastated my whole existence I called it a day. The following day I did the same thing again and managed to cut the finger in the exact same place 😂.

I usually used a dime to open them, and when it got too gnarly I could spend the dime on hockey cards... 😁Yes, we've all damaged ourselves with sharps from time to time -- not to mention acetone, whew! 😵 At least our blades are sharp and usually cut real clean... I like to cook, and sliced the tip of my thumb off one time. It mostly grew back 😏. I like the thumbnail for this vid -- looks like a tasty slice of ham... 😋

Hi Tye, thanks for the question. I use it straight from the bottle, which is thin enough of your using a normal brush. If your using an airbrush it need thinning down but even then It can glog up the nozzle quickly.

Hi Greg, thanks for the suggestion. I'm sorry to say it's a terrible habit of mine. The main problem is when I zoom in and forget to look up at the monitor when I'm so focused on the build. Lately I've started to place a smaller cutting mat on top of the larger one to help me keep on the correct position. However I keep on moving the thing without realising it. Hi Tye, I glad you enjoyed the build log and most importantly that it helped in any small way. The kit was a joy to put together but I did regret not placing in a hanger deck. At the time of the build I was toying with the idea though. Now a days I tend to build just out of the box and leave scratch building for dioramas or missing parts. The only real exceptions are any kit that I decided to give the 'What If' treatment. In fact I'm just about to start a modified version of Star Treks Enterprise from the original series. Hi Neil, those little 1/72 are always fun to build. I did build the old Airfix 1/24 spitfire and found that a joy to put together. The newer tools looks amazing, the Typhoon and Hellcat where two examples that I loved building. I may have to build an F35 at some point. I'm lucky enough to live about 3 miles form Sywell Aerodrome and they had there annual airshow over the weekend. I forgot all about it until I herd the roar of an engine, I looked up and watched an F35 fly over my back garden, the following day it was the Red Arrows turn.

Hi Penny, I cna understand where you are coming from. The next couple of builds are all part of two dioramas which in itself are an experiment in reusing materials.

Hi Neil, those artists pens are fantastic for that job, I have a set myself but rarely use them, it wouldn't surprise me if they haven't dried up by now. The reason behind that is that I want the graphite from a pencil to run and smudge when I apply the varnish. It's all part of how I approach the weathering. To be fair it can be difficult to control though and it will depend on how thick the pencil lines are.

Hi ArisztidOlt, unfortunately this build was completed a little while ago so I can't make a separate video for this kit however I am planning to build the RSM Titanic at some point this year and I intend to fully light that up, its one of those kit that come with the LED's. Is there any particular area of the light set of for this build I could help with, I'll try and explain it the best I can. Hi Neil, the last time I built the galactic I didn't bother with the aztec, something I now regret. I was so relieved that I was able to get this wings off. At the time I was thinking I'll just place the wings on then take a brake. However I was in the moment and carried on luckily. The wing where just on the point of setting, another five minutes and it would have been game over. 😂

Hi Steven, I. Was looking at the Millennium Falcon 4D but I've got the Bandi perfect grade one as well as a couple of little ones so I thought better of it. I suspect the wife may have something to say of I did get it. I did built realise that the comments had been turned off for the horsa, I did get a couple of nasty comments so I may have turned them off instead of blocking by mistake, thanks for the heads up. Ive just finished a couple of very simple diorama for a hurricane and spitfire, they where more of an experiment in different materials. That build will be up after this one. @@stevesmodelbuilds5473 those comments do happen from time to time. I. Don't mind if someone doesn't like what I'm doing in the hobby, we all do things differently and that should be encouraged and celebrated. However some think that their method is the only way and get rather upset when they don't see that happening. Others just don't like way a person sounds or explains those methods or just want a reaction. Either way it's easy to have to no filter behind a screen and the most effective coarse of action is just to bloke them.
