Great review!
Thanks so much!
@@fourthdominion much appreciated Meadow ❤
Yeah this is going to finish high in my AOTY list... Also, i just now realized that Rob reminds me a bit of a young, metalhead Eddie Marsan. That's a compliment btw..
Thanks so much for having me on! Loved talking to you two 🖤🧡.
The vocals are recorded the same time as Time 1, so around 2006-ish So he was pretty good back then too.
To me I thought It had a lot of filler, its ambitious but not for me.
Sounds like you say The way of fire and Wall of the shadows haha
I agree with a lot of this, it is all 'bombastic' and I definitely feel overhyping myself left me disappointed. All I was wishing for after storm was it to slow down and flow, but silver leaves left me again, disappointed. I hope a few further listens will make it grow, but at this point, it is just a wall of sound.
I think that on subsequent listens it will grow on you. I agree with the wall of sound comment . It’s why when listening with good quality headphones ( where I could pick out more things in the mix ) I enjoyed it more . It also lead to the album feeling souless as I said …. It did grow on me though
Minimum five listens for the album to fully reveal itself. Especially songs like Storm / Silver Leaves
@@Denton1944 Jari said himself in a recent interview that a normal human ear focuses on 3(?) sounds at the same time. On repeated listening's you focus on other sounds etc. I felt the same with Time 1, but Time 1 grew on me a lot.
Strange song cuts is another thing I noticed.
Second listen... this album has more emotional deep than Time 1
Great review sir, agree w/ 95% (which is v good)... was also missing that big gong sound at the end of the album :)
You are very kind, thank you If you’d consider subscribing it would be massively appreciated ❤
Storm, first seconds, start to sound like Be'Lakor :)
I shall be awaiting for the review for the upcoming new Opeth album 🙇🏻♀️👀
Keep your eyes peeled 😂
Sick intro. Sick shirt. Sick banner. Sick review m8 🔥💥

thank you for this, hoping it comes out on apple music soon
Thank YOU for taking the time to listen to me talk about time 2 … after all this time If you like our content we have loads of interviews and stuff on our channel if you’d like to subscribe. The more we grow the more opportunities for advanced listens and content we get
@@HornThrowers you earned a new sub my friend 😎 thank you
On first listen is good but not as good as Time 1
My conclusion too
It's not even close...Time 2 is just not good...
His vocals improving over the last ten years doesn't really make sense, because everything on Time I and Time II was recorded at the same time in 2006.
My understanding was that time 2 has had many parts re-recorded and remastered over the last 10 years ?
@@HornThrowers I've heard about the re-amped guitars and the re-mixed orchestrations, but this is the first time I'm hearing about anything being re-recorded entirely. 🤔
@@HornThrowers I think so too. The bass, drums and rhythm guitars were all recorder at the same time, but everything else Jari was working on until much later. And mixing of course has been the main thing that took him so long, as he could not get it as perfect as he wanted.
@@HornThrowers This. Just gonna add that e.g. "One With The Shadows" was originally written in 1998 and clean singing part and melody parts were added later on to fit Time 2 album theme, everything were definitely not complete in 2006 About the interludes, Jari mentioned that if you listen to Time I & Time II back to back (the way it is supposed to be listened), blast beats only can be quite tiring to your ears
If I remember correctly, the vocals are mostly recorded between 2008-2011. The drums are still the same ones they recorded in 2006, but they guitars were all re-recorded years later since they had too much white noise.
Hope to see Them in Poland.
I’m hoping to catch them on the paganfest tour

What’s so problematic about The Witcher?
This fucking rips!
Great interview, loved this one
Delightful convo, makes me want to make/listen to more music!! And yall have such great senses of humor <3
I feel seen 🥰 This is such a fantastic interview, love all of you!
Blessings to you all for including our dear Brother Jeffrey on your fine show.
great interview! another LOTR named band that's not about LOTR is Numenorean.
Oh great to see this anarchist black metal world coming together
That split is amazing and both these women are so talented. Loved Forest Brienne's remark about the second wave of Norwegian Black metallers being rich white kids.
fuckin love Lust Hag
Ashen Eidolon and Echoes of Battle are 2 of my favourite albums ever. Also Conqueror's Oath is such a killer album. Everything Jake does, either epic heavy metal or atmospheric black metal, is such a throwback and such amazing albums. Hope Visigoth come to Greece so i can see them live
Loved this interview, they seem like such cool guys. Excited for the album listening party tonight to hear it in full. (Also I love ghost haha)
Thanks Marcus, yeah it was literally the conversation I had with you I was referencing there haha. The album is killer, I am sure you are going to love it!
OI. my english is not such fine to understand all. please write down the recomended sources & bands (especially at the end)
nice talk. if people are more into the story of the "greenscare", there is a movie on youtube: "if a tree falls - the story of the " (will not type the word^^)
A great interview, thanks! :-) (Just as a suggestion: using a compressor to make the audio a bit louder and have a more consistent volume would be really great for future interviews)
Thanks , I really appreciate the feedback. We are still complete amateurs, the issue I had in editing was that Petri is far more soft spoken than Sami so it was kind of hard
Great conversation- Jake is the best! Love his bottomless passion and positivity. Also loved hearing his insight into the first law trilogy, Joe Abercrombie is an amazing author. Very hype for new visigoth material
Thank You SO much man!
Honestly this video changed my life
For the worst
Great chat - cheers for having me along!
I don't know metal but I lile the podcast, interesting conversation
What a lovely guy. Pls tell him thanks for discover me Holy Martyr. Great interview, btw!
Greetings from Brazil.
Nice interview! Btw, ain't STS from Finland?
You are correct and I will amend this now haha
Just a quick one: any homophobic or transphobic comments are getting deleted. Have a nice day, happy Pride <3
Killer interview
Glad you liked it, check out our backlog of interviews and podcasts if you like
I love Dysthymia, this is awesome 🤘
What a great (interview-) talk going on, such a great dynamic of two lovely metalnerds talking and nerding out. Also very great to hear and see Jake talking about the issues going on, he seems to really care and I'm so happy he makes a clear stance on some issues. Metal is love, love is metal.
Honestly it's one of my favourite conversations I have had for the channel. He is such a lovely guy. Thank you for your comment!
Oh man, the way my face lit up when he said First Law
The way mine did and we said "Joe Abercombie"in unison haha
good te here you working on new material
Dawn Gay'd. 😂 Dipshit commie warbling
I love this band, I'm fucking obsessed, a new album is comming, for sure it will be another master peace.
