Forest Trends is a Washington D.C.-based international non-profit organization that was created in 1998 by leaders from conservation organizations, forest products firms, research groups, multilateral development banks, private investment funds and philanthropic foundations. Our mission is four-fold: to expand the value of forests to society; to promote sustainable forest management and conservation by creating and capturing market values for ecosystem services; to support innovative projects and companies that are developing these markets; and to enhance the livelihoods of local communities living in and around those forests. We do this by analyzing strategic market and policy issues, catalyzing connections between forward looking producers, communities and investors, and developing new financial tools to help markets work for conservation and people. Our approach integrates the fundamental dimensions of ecology, economy and equity because our goal is to have an impact on a scale that
State of the Blue Carbon Market
This Ecosystem Marketplace Insights Briefing webinar took stock of the size, scope, and supply & demand dynamics of blue carbon credits, as well as a discussion of potential for scale and challenges/opportunities in realizing that potential.
Blue Carbon ecosystems are critical components of strategies to mitigate climate change. By some estimates, BC ecosystems sequester carbon at rates many times that of terrestrial forests, yet these important habitats are subject to high rates of conversion and ecosystem services loss worldwide.
We are at a critical juncture in which the ratcheting up of supply to meet global demand can be made possible by getting governments and the private sector on the same page regarding blue carbon’s potential. Significant investment in blue carbon ecosystems is needed to stem degradation and maximize the potential of these ecosystems to mitigate climate change and help countries adapt suitably. This webinar will advance understanding of blue carbon’s potential, and a core set of strategies to unlock public, private, and blended investment.

Great timing for this event and thanks very much Stephen!

Excelente, 👍🦜
Obrigada pelo vídeo, me acrescentou muito conhecimento! 👏👏👏
I do not think clothing them should be the first step, but mental attitude towards better life is best, clothing should be their choice based on their environmental conditions not a rule simply you are shy seeing naked people
Amazing content. Looking forward for Offsetting Trends on Latin America. Greetings!
