The kit turned out great
awesome haul! :)
Have you ever come across a reasonably priced wide nose cn diesel in ho scale
@@andystrains4335 Occasionally I'll see one on ebay, or marketplace
You have some good stuff I have a lot of the same kind of trains that I have had for years
@andystrains4335 Some of the older stuff is my favourite. It reminds me of my childhood and my introduction to the hobby
👏
Hey man where can I find these vehicles
@JAYSMODELRAILROAD I bought these ones on an online estate auction a couple years ago. I haven't seen many of them online , however they do occasionally pop up on ebay. My thoughts are , if you find similar vehicles from another railroad and then buy decals from the railroad that you're looking for, that might be your best bet.
@@Trainguy1969 Jeeze but then it becomes difficult to get it to perfection
Love the NAR!
Thanks for producing & sharing your vid' 🙂 "G-Gauge may not RULE, but it GROWS on Ya !! " djc'99
Awesome! Wish i could have gone. Thank you for the short video.
You are welcome. I will be posting other videos from the show in the coming weeks.
Great looking model ,you did a an excellent job , I liked the look so much I had to order it,received it yesterday, planning on installing LEDs inside to light it up at light.
@@ddistrbd1 I appreciate the compliment. It is a great kit. LED lights would look great on this kit. All the best.
Ho scale 1:87 ?

WOW COOL
Great work! Oddly enough I was thinking of doing the same project after seeing it done in the display layout in Trains and Such in Calgary. How did you 3D print the handwritten Tim Horton's logo?
@PB-fw2mx I too decided to create mine after seeing the one in Trains and Such. The signature is from the Tim Hortons sign on the Thingiverse 3D printing website. Unfortunately the words alone aren't there, so I took the sign they do have, separated out the signature and scaled it
the slow speed/start/stop does not seem to work very well
I have both the Palace built up theater with chase marquee and sign lights .I would love to add the same to the Rivoli .l believe that the back with the on off slot was used for the Palace theater light switch.
You may need to add a wooden water 💧 tank on top of the back of the theater as the final touch. I see 👀 that old movie 🎬 theaters have them.
Did you manage to repair the light bulb? 🙂
These are exactly Athearn Overton coaches. The 109 is a single pack version with the item number RND16379. I have a set of Athearn Overton 4 car pack in Canadian National scheme with one coach numbered 108. The single pack 109 coach is now really rare on the market.
@dannyzhao2340 I didn't realize Athearn sold them individually. I have the complete Athearn Roundhouse set for Canadian Pacific.
Where can I find this to buy
@@JAYSMODELRAILROAD I bought both of these off of Ebay.
@@Trainguy1969 how much
That would be an O gauge train, referring to the spacing of the rails. Lionel o27 and traditional line features semiscale train models. Great video though
Very nice, at that scale they look great!
Nice set of gifts you got there. I hope you will enjoy them. Like the F7A engine and B unit as well the hopper too.
Nice train 🚂! Congratulations 🎉
I thought you got the new genesis one they now have one in DCC and sound!!!
@Railfan-uf9mw I would love that, but I think my wife would have disowned me if I spent too much on another locomotive😁
that little loco has more detail than you know ,,,i weather and make my locos and rolling stock look as real as can be ,,i paint them black first the lightly drybrush and bring out the detail that is there but hard to see because of the color of the loco ,i have the same loco but it was southern pacific
One day, when I start doing HO scale model trains, I will definitely try and get my hands on Fairbanks Morse Cab Units as well as Cab Units from other builders like Alco, EMD, and Baldwin.
My wife and I traveled with Strates Shows for 2 years. Lived on and rode the train. Too bad that the railroads wanted to much money for them to keep it on the rails. They're a road show now, and leave alot behind in Winter Quarters in Florida. Talked to Jimmy and John Strates a couple of years ago, and they wanted us to come back. We said no.
That's pretty cool. Must have been an interesting adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Pretty day after a storm with that utility pole in the road?
Those were placed to keep people off that road
@@Trainguy1969 Ah.
Would you happen to know what kind of decoder is best to use with the DCC ready? I have two CSX Athearn RTR DCC ready but dont know how many pins the decoder should be. Thanks!
It really depends on the manufacturer, but most are 8 pin. Digitrax decoders are popular and seem to work well
I have also seen some 21 pin. I will check one of mine and let you know
@Trainguy1969 thanks! Yeah, it's the Athearn AC4000CW like this one, it's just CSX instead of CP. I'm not good with the computer stuff and don't wanna screw it up 🤣🤣
Looks like these locomotives have both a 9 pin plug and an 8 pin plug. I have attached a link to a UA-cam video that shows how to attach a digitrax decoder to the 9 pin plug. ua-cam.com/video/JpaMT5UbZcY/v-deo.html
Videography & set up perfectly plant.
Silver Streak
Exactly, I believe they used CP rail locomotives and rolling stock in the film
Thanks for sharing. I would like to add one of these to my collection 👍
I do occasionally see them for sale on eBay
Hey just wondering if you added DCC to this loco? If so, how difficult?
No I haven't, not sure how difficult it would be
@@Trainguy1969 Thanks
Nice work! I didn't like the 2D details they included, at least sticking them to the windows, it took away the 3D look in my opinion.
I agree, which is why I only taped them on. At some point I will look for or create a 3D interior.
@@Trainguy1969 good call 👍
I was given one of these trains as a Christmas gift back in the 70s when it first came out. I still have it and it is as it was back then. However I don't run it on my layout because the locomotive motor is not strong enough for a grade grater than 1%. I have considered replacing the motor but decided against that as it would destroy it as a collectable train set. Instead it is proudly displayed above my layout.
It certainly is a great addition to anyone's collection.
Dunno about "express". I don't recall it reaching more than 110km/h (that was in Pitt Meadows).
So true, I guess they felt using express gave it a sense of speed, it doesn't achieve 110 km/h is its top speed on the line. The top speed of the locomotive is 177km/h
What a great shop! If I was into trains Id feel like a kid in a candy store here.
nice shop! :)
I would like to buy such a caboose but they are out of production. Any ideas?
I bought mine through hobby tech in Calgary. You could try them
Unfortunately they have no more. I've looked a bit online and no one seems to have them!
That Tim Horton's looks suspiciously like the Walthers Modern Dairy Queen kit. I kitbashed mine into a Burger King.
It's amazing what you can do with a Grill and Chill 😁
You did a good job on the brick walls, the whole thing is well done.
Thanks...I appreciate the compliment.
I work for transit in metro Vancouver. (bus driver) I take commuters down to this train 4 days a week. Anyone needs any details about this train, happy to offer. :)
I have this but i have no idea where to find a coupler for it
How much did you pay if you may recall
The locomotive was an ebay bid, I believe it was around $60. The cars were closer to $100
@@Trainguy1969 $60 for that locomotive is not bad at all!!
Holy crap I haven't seen this in decades. The F7 looks so inaccurate. The CP F7 never had the double headlight. This was more of a Union Pacific frame.
Yeah...Bachmann often only tooled one version and painted it in many liveries.
Love the lights in the snow ... very cool effect! Merry Christmas!!!!!
Thanks, Merry Christmas to you too.
As a Brit who models American HO I have a great liking for railcars. I currently have a Budd RDC plus's two Doodlebugs in my loco collection. Watching a single railcar plodding along the track in a rural setting evokes a sense of nostalgia.
Sure does, I loved seeing and riding the dayliner when I was a kid. Unfortunately, they stopped the service here in 1990 and have never replaced it. I guess people like their cars too much to consider a train. There is talk however of building a hyperloop between the cities Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary
not bad ? but it could be better... there were FOUR colors to a camoflauge paint job ...1) black ... 2) chocolate brown ... 3)cream brown ... 4)army green
Interesting. I was basing mine off of an image of a Husky Armoured Recovery Vehicle I found on the net. It seems to have only three colours, black, brown and green. What militaries' camouflage are you citing in your comment?
the colors i gave you are the colors i wore in the 80s & 90s ... colors always change - it depends on the country & year ... it doesn't have be perfect
Thanks for the info and your service. @@markhellman-pn3hn
