SCENTLOK HYDROTHERM V2 Review- Late Season Jacket/Bib
Переглядів 1,6 тис.Рік тому
This is an open box review of the Scentlok Hydrotherm V2 Parka and Bib. I have not personally worn this suit in the woods yet. I made the purchase for the 2023 deer season. I try to show the way the suit fits, all of the features, and try to give visuals to any questions someone may have about either the jacket or the bib. I'll try to leave an edit or comment to this video during deer season to...

Late Season Archery Buck- Bedded PIEBALD Deer
Is it too early to rattle and snort wheeze in the first week in November in Kansas?
We have a couple of videos on the channel of us turning a buck around by grunting at him at the end of October and then we had one posture up and circle us after we grunted and snort wheezed at him during the first week. We didn’t have much luck rattling at that point. Most of our calling luck wasn’t blind calling. We tried, but our best results were calling to a deer we could see headed away. We usually got his attention and made our decisions based on how he’d react. Good luck!!
Great video
If you go to Kansas you need to know that everyone that lives there thinks there the reason they have trophy deer they all believe the 1/4 acre food plot is the reason monster bucks has been taken there for the past 50 years and second most of the land is leased to scum bag guides who are to lazy to work a real job and the bow hunting council sets the seasons where only the bow hunters gets to hunt when the deer are moving I guess this is to make up for them crippling and losing 50 percent of the deer they shoot...... Hopefully this helps
I'm in Hot Springs, I was so proud for you watching this, your enthusiasm was contagious. Congratulations! Do you have final weight and measurements? I'll be out there for the first time tomorrow, thanks for this educational video. That was a perfect shot.
I know that exact location, I killed a big buck there in 2019 and a giant 8 point in 23. I’ll be back there opening week, about 40-50 yards from that same tree.
Congrads!!
👍🏼🐻🏹💯
Wow‼️
Nice hunt…. Good buck…
Fantastic deer. Congratulations.
Southpaw slammers stand up!! 🤘🏼
Is this the first year they did tac down in Oklahoma?
Looks like my place in North East Oklahoma.
Nice!
Awesome shoot here on mulberry mountain! Come back next year!
We saw some pictures and videos! Looked awesome!
Nice deer! Great hunt! Nothing better than November rut hunts in Kansas!
Thank you! We’ve had some great experiences the past few years!
Great video!
Thank you! Appreciate it!
Awesome Buck! Congrats!
Thank you! Thanks for watching! Memorable hunt
What we’re using for bait ?
Daniel used a ton of junk food and more lol. He details it all and gives the story in one of our podcast episodes if that helps!
These are great events. The staff is awesome. The courses are perfect.
Agreed!
Nice work !!
Thank you!
Man, what a great looking place. Where and what was this shoot? Had to be a blast. I enjoy using my hunting setup in places like this rather my 3-d rig. It’s awesome practice for spot and stalk which is my favorite tactic. I use a three pin slider set at 30-40-50 which has worked great for me. What’s good about this video and you guys to me is you guys actually know how to use a release. No punching. Awesome. 👍👍
It was at Arrowhead State Park. A company called “SHOT- The 3D Experience” put it on and has a few other events they do as well in OK and AR. They have info on their website and social media. It was a good time and good practice for those situations like you mentioned! Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
Can’t wait for Choctaw Lodge
These are great! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to check out 3D archery
Scored every tine wrong. It’s not from the center of the main beam?
We realized that after and redid it! Mistake in the moment.
@@WhitetailMission I only know because that’s how I use to do it 😂
I attended the Tulsa and Canadian Oklahoma events. Tulsa was pretty much flat but Canadian was much different with steep shot and some serious hiking. Had a great time at both. TAC is next then hoping to maybe catch the one at the hunting club or mulberry mountain. 🎯✌🏻
Awesome! We will be at TAC as well!
How much for the butthole shirt? 😂
To think if that lil 100” buck walked in before you seen that 160” buck.
Thank you for this!
No problem at all! Thanks for watching!
What camo you guys wear im trying to to find some good quality hunting clothes for those late october November morning
In terms of brands, we’ve used a mix of Scentlok, Nomad, First Lite, etc. If you’re looking for a warm suit, I just used the Scentlok Hydrotherm bib and parka and loved it. There’s a review video of it on our channel. I try to show as many details about the suit as I can.
@@WhitetailMission okay awesome I just watched the review on the bibs and jacket they look like quality clothes my dad always used scentlok back in the day and swore by it i never used it myself but I'll have to give it a try thanks
After 6months how has the parka and bib been doing for you?
Great! My only complaints are the cuffs on the parka are a little tight, but it’s good when it’s cold. I had one end of the leg buttons pop out on the bib, but I’m going to have it fixed. Somewhat frustrating that it happened in the first season of owning them.
You guys are awesome for sharing such great information. I just started hunting other states 4 years ago. I have scored a buck in PA but I am still looking for my first OH buck. I hunt a lot of Public Land in NYS around the Finger Lakes. I plan to apply for a nonresident Kansas deer Hunting license for the the fall of 2025. It is about a 20 hour drive and I plan to sleep in my truck while I am out there in mid/late November. What are the options for camping on Public Lands in Kansas? What did you guys do for sleeping? Do you have any other suggestions for sleeping? Curt WhiteTALES Deer Hunting
No problem at all! We hope it helps! We’ve done just about all of it. WIHA properties don’t allow camping, but the wildlife areas have places you can and some of the towns throughout Kansas have camp areas. Another option could be lakes if there’s any lakes by where you go. We’ve slept in our trucks at places as well. Depending on weather, we’ve also stayed in hotels/motels. So we’ve done just about all of it!
@@WhitetailMission I appreciate guys. TY for taking the time to answer. Amazing how much work there is that goes into planning a public hunting trip in another state.
@@whitetailsdeerhunting7159 Anytime! It definitely takes work especially with how far away yours will be! You’ll have to keep us updated on how it all goes.
@@WhitetailMission Absolutely. I am finally upgrading from my shitty little Canon Vixia handicam to a Canon Vixia G70. Not the camera I would like to buy, but it’s what I can afford. I am excited to have a better camera. After 3 years of self filming I am still loving it even though it screwed me on 2 bucks this year. Live and learn. Super challenging but I was fortunate enough to shoot the biggest buck of my life last year, on Public land in NY.
@@whitetailsdeerhunting7159 We have an older version of that camera and it works well! We’ll be following the channel to see what you get on film!
If at first you don't succeed.... reload!
Exactly!! 😂
Hey you boys keep this going love the videos
Thank you!
Ole man lookin real grey! Tell him he needs to be more confident. The look on his face lmao!
Very nicely done guys. 👍. Great state to hunt. 😀
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Cool video, nice buck Steve.
It’s good to see the old man with a nice buck!!
Always!
That exit looked great. Maybe due to the angle it caught only 1 lung. Congrats.
That was our thought beforehand as well! Turned out to be a double lung. Entry was high lung which we assume helped the deer go further. Thanks for watching!
Dude that was some awesome rut action!
It was fun man!!
👏🏼
Thank you for the tips because I really needed this. I also hunt KS and OK. Looking forward to some Oklahoma content!
Thanks for watching! We’re by no means experts, but we wanted to share some of our experiences. Hope they help!
@@WhitetailMissionYou guys working on 2024 content?! Looking forward to see your hunts for 2024.
nice buck! going to Kansas next year for the first time
Thank you! It can be a fun place. You definitely have to be willing to work around the pressure depending when you go, but it’s fun. Good luck!
Great job enjoy the meat you did good
Thank you!
Nice video, agree on everything you said. Agree on the ground hunting. I am a travel hunter since I live in San Diego. First trip to Kansas it was private land with set stands. Saw lots of deer, but totally artificial over corn. I didn't like that trip. Next trip, I did all public, solo and thought I'd be in my harness, but actually spent very little time in it. The best spots had thick nasty trees and low cover, not hardwood canopies. Ground hunting is phenomenal in Kansas. So many times I just tucked into the thick nasty stuff downwind of hot sign and trails using just a simple camo screen and brushing it in. Way more deer, way more fun, easier to call in, and I had many, many deer within 10 feet (not yards) that I passed on and they just milled around for minutes. leaving never knowing I was there. Awesome. I highly recommend a portable decoy to get them to turn and stare away from your ground set up. Also, get a lightweight, non-thread type ghillie suit and put it on once you set up your blind. Threads will get briars and be ruined in one use.
Thanks for watching! Love the response. We’re slowly getting into the decoy side of hunting. No success yet, but we need to use it more!
Why don’t people show these actually with hunting boots on instead of sneakers or other light footwear that you never wear while hunting.Would like to see big rubber boots or other real scenarios?
P r o m o s m
Learn to zoom and pan slowly. Makes for a much more enjoyable video. Great buck thanks for sharing.
how did you fix the noise in the other camera?
I haven’t technically fixed it. It stopped doing it a few weeks after that and worked all through turkey season. Hoping it doesn’t start doing it again. We’ll see!
Man this is awesome I live in Oklahoma. Havnt got me a wall hanger yet but hopefully I will this year.
We hope this year is the year!
