Awesome display this afternoon!
The change came through to disrupt the last of the rain bands from the low pressure system that didn't quite get to turn into a full-blown cyclone, and we are all very glad of that!
Lots of lovely lightning, though, multiple cloud-to-ground strikes happening simultaneously made it sound like the 1812 Overture out there!

Storm season for South-East Queensland goes from about the end of October through to January, before it settles down to monsoon-type rain until the end of April or so.

On the 9th of December, 2021, a severe thunderstorm rolled over Ipswich. This storm delivered 20mm of rain in about 20 minutes! Watch for the colour changes!

The dry finally broke, giving us our first real rain for this wet season that was supposed to start November last year! That would be awesome, but they all came from the feeder cray tank at the local Petbarn where you get 10 of them for $5. It's not going to be a marron.
@@LittleJimLittleJim But it resembles a marron better than a yabby. May be some other species of crayfish then. But not a yabby. Yabbies have larger and different shaped claws.

How long did they take to grow that big?
About nine months, I guess.
I'm afraid to hold the berried females or even females with hatchlings all over them in fear of her tail movement crushing them. Did the eggs hatch alright mate?
It was pure luck that i found that female in the first place: I'm not in the habit of handling them because of the stress it subjects them to. I think they didn't do too badly, because they appear to have distributed themselves throughout the system, in that there are now yabbies in the two tanks downstream of this one...And I didn't put them there.

Only a little bit. You did ask me what I need. I suppose the pony is more of a want than a need, if I had to make a choice between that and the world domination thing. On the other hand, if you wanted to know what you need to make a setup like this, at it's most basic for a setup like this, you need; An Intermediate Bulk Container, or IBC, which you can pick up second hand on gumtree for about $80. Make sure it's not been used for anything toxic! A pump to circulate the water. Bunnings have some cheap ones. A whole bunch of different size pipes. Bigger yabbies eat smaller yabbies, so the different sizes stop the bigger ones getting to the smaller ones. A bit of PVC or some hoses for a bigger setup, I have a guide to my latest setup here -> imgur.com/gallery/B3h7s
