Welcome! We are Katie and Rob @KRCompares.
We take similar items, generally food, and compare and contrast them. It's a highly subjective topic we try to breakdown into something slightly less so.
If there is something you would like us to compare, please leave us a comment!

Episode 57 - Trader Joe's Haul
The second in our haul series, we explore staples we actually and purchase of camera - on camera! This time we're looking at Trader Joe's.
With how often we say "this is never something we buy" here's a chance to see what we do actually consume more regularly. Plus, a few great deals we found!
Do you know of a place worth checking out? We absolutely want to hear about it!

E56 - Eagle Rock Bakery Haul
Переглядів 36День тому
This is another video that shakes things up for KRCompares! We often talk about, in our food reviews, that "we never buy this" or "it is rare that we eat this." So what do we usually buy? Here's a spattering of foods we get from a somewhat local bakery and our go-to: Eagle Rock Bakery in Eagle Rock, California. There are a handful of sweets and a few staples like oils, bread and peperoncino, am...
Episode 55 - The Woobles
Переглядів 9914 днів тому
This episode is something new in several ways. It's our first non-food comparison, our first using closeups and our first moving the camera to another (part of) the room. The Woobles are meant to be a beginner friendly introduction to crocheting. This episode compares an expert, Katie, with an absolute beginner, Rob. Does an expert have an advantage? Are there ways to improve the kit? Is it act...
E54 - Aperol Spritz
Переглядів 1321 день тому
Though it may be winter, this Italian classic is never out of season: the Aperol Spritz. A slightly sweet, slightly bitter, slightly fizzy orange drink originating from the Veneto region. Apparently there is now a ready-to-open bottle available in stores. Is it worth or is like every other cheap, tasteless and expensive pre-mixed drink you find in stores? Give this short episode a watch to find...

E53 - Cinnamon Rolls
Переглядів 84Місяць тому
With the holidays being what they are and our preference to shoot some videos in advance, this is actually the first video we made for the new season of KRCompares, though it felt more appropriate to test cinnamon rolls in December. But are they any good? With Kroger, Annie's and Pillsbury names on the line who rises (get it?) and who falls flat? You know how to find out! 0:00 Intro 9:08 A word...
Episode 52 - Egg Nog
Переглядів 33Місяць тому
'Tis the season to rush out and get yourself gallons upon gallons (or several liters, if you don't use the imperial system) of Egg Nog. In this episode, we try several store varieties from marked down and cheap to expensive and unpronounceable. How do they compare? Is $11 too much for Nog? We have those answers and more in this holiday-themed episode! 0:00 Intro 8:44 Alta Dena & Kroger 14:42 Pr...

Episode 49 - Spicy Pickles
Переглядів 272 місяці тому
Here's another video we decided somewhat spur-the-moment. We both love pickles and we both love spice so this did not require any further thought. As always, the question remains: are they good? Are they worth their price? And do they even taste like what they say they do? You know where you can find out! 0:00 Intro 3:12 Vlasic Frank's Red Hot 6:43: Famous Devil's Spit 9:32 Suckerpunch Spicy Di...
Episode 48 - Sam Adams Beer Fest
Переглядів 432 місяці тому
This video was made on a crunch. We ere able to fix last minute camera issues and also find something that fit the holiday theme. Thus: Beer Fest. Honestly, this one was a lot of fun. More than anything we enjoy having a chatty time and bantering back and forth and this episode perfectly captures our usual dynamic. also, we give our thought son this Sam Adams seasonal selection. 0:00 Intro 3:01...
Episode 47 - Pumpkin Creamer

Did it today and it was a hit!!! very very good! and sooo easy
Loved the year in review- Congrats on your 1 year for KR Compares
loved it. And yes I'm one of those one or two people who get it lol
Preach it Rooooob!!!
BISCUITS!!!!! should be at some point lol
That cherry cheesecake one is soo delicious
im a basic bitch, and i love pumpkin spice creamer
No argument here!
Crispy bacon and scrambled eggs- sometimes with kielbasa on the weekends
Solid breakfast!
This was so fun to watch, you both are sooo entertaining!
This was cool!
Thanks! If you have any suggestions for things to try in the future, please let us know!
“I am Rob” “…ok” 😂
yes, you have to put the noodles in the fork's prongs lol.
Update: After much debate, we have come to the conclusion that, due to the balance of flavors, particularly when mixed with lime and vodka, Reed's Extra is our preferred Ginger Beer for a Moscow Mule.
ginger beer is my favorite drink to order at a bar when I want to be sober but pretend im drinking a mule lol... like yesterday
The ridges are good- (good when dipping) but love kettle-cooked- much tastier-never had Taytos- is that a California item? Also, loved Katie's Lasers :)
Taytos are Irish, actually.
W review
Gluten free Double stuff Oreo's gf are really good- also, you should try Chips Ahoy Cookies- taste pretty good too.
lol absolutely loved this one- the commentators were awesome!! 😀
Fun Episode- yes, final thoughts Jerry Springer lol. love that it was known as his phrase :). Also, loved your guest Maikayla- A lot of fun to watch
dragonfruit ones are usually delicious
Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate is the best boxed brownie mix.
We have heard this several times this aired, actually! I suspect we'll have to revisit this in the not-too-distant future and include Ghirardelli.
That was fun. The headsets, the jacket, the mugs. True commentators.
To raw dog tofu was something I wasn’t expecting to hear. Fun episode!
This one was so much fun!!
Always great to hear folks enjoyed it, even if it costs us our taste buds for the rest of the day.
Definitely gonna try and find these!!!
S’more’s is still the best 😅
We plan to do a "deluxe" episode at some point in which we explore the fancier flavors. S'mores is certainly up there.
This was a fun episode. Enjoyed learning the different Chobani Flavors. I have been using the Oikos for the protein- they don't have as many flavors as Chobani
We've been using Oikos for a bit and, yeah, we find it much healthier than Chobani: fewer calories, more protein. The vanilla is quite good, but the fruit flavors are less enticing.
Fage Greek yogurt with honey is the best!
cereal first
Great Episode- and yes, definitely loved
My brother also hates watermelon as well as cantaloupe and honeydew. It’s an interesting spectrum. Also, cubing your watermelon is totally a thing. Makes it easy for storing in the fridge and the ocasional quick bite.
KR Compares 2 - 0 Kroger. Maybe third time’s a charm. Great episode!
It’s always good to have a wet paper towel while eating your Takis. Gotta keep those fingers clean.
Wet paper towels would've been better than dry. Fine point.
Really enjoyed this one with the protein bars- I've been using ONE Bars- there are so many different types- would love for you both to compare the different other types- for a meal replacement/protein for a healthy diet. Also, Hopefully, you will compare protein shakes. -Premier is a good one. Thanks!
Ah! Protein shakes are definitely on the list. Our current approach is to keep things economical (for us) and a shake episode would be pricey. Stay tuned, though!
Thank you! Also some of the protein bars taste delicious if you heat them up about thirty seconds or less depending on microwave- they can taste even better
Arnott's make a LOT of other great biscuits- Kingston, Venetian,, Monte Carlo, Orange Slice, Iced Vo Vo, etc. THEY do a family assortment pack with a few diferent varieties - an Aussie tradition at Christmas. Shapes are an Aussie legend - you'd often go to school with a box for lunch. Tthere are about 5 or 6 different flavour, each a different shape. BBQ or pizza xare most people's favourite, and the Cheese & Vegemite is pretty good too. They also make special varieties and the meat pie and sausage sizzle flavours are bloody brilliant (but I still prefer BBQ).
These are all very intriguing! We will have to look into these.
The Murray River Salted Caramel has a more distinct flavour than the Chewy Caramel
If you like honeycomb you should try Violet Crumble; they're chocolate coated honeycomb bar from Australia - so much better than Cadbury's Crunchie.
We've had the Cadbury Crunchie but Violet Crumble sounds divine.
Golden Syrup is made from sugar cane.
I love the bracket idea! Only issue might be if you guys don't reach an agreement on which one moves forward.
We're there almost always, but as shown here it's not 100%. That is a very fine point. Maybe it branches to create the KR Cinematic Multiverse where our top picks... I'm getting ahead of myself.
The “Potass” dude sounds like a cool guy!
Can't fault 'im. We figured out what he meant.
Update: One week later: The Bauducco was consumed early so information does not exist. The Muzzo Tommaso softened, becoming better. The Peluso dried out slightly. The D'Onofrio packaging has perfectly preserved the panettone keeping it as fresh as the day it arrived.
YESS - TRADER JOE'S!! Try the UNPASTEURIZED, please! 😄
We have a short planned to compare the two Trader Joe's Brands; stay tuned!
The fact that Katie prefers Pepsi over Coke gives me a trustworthy palate profile. Happy new year you two!
I think a Coke and Pepsi off - perhaps a blind taste test - is in order. Happy new year!
:) nice vid! personally i cant stand pulp, but i understand why people like it. happy new year!
We will have to compare pulp and non at some point. I have the feeling the flavor might be different. Until then, thanks for the comment and happy new year to you, also!
I live tim tams then they stopped carrying them in my area 😭
When the pandemic hit, I fell in love with Chewy Starburst bites, which they don't make in the USA, so I relied on getting them from the UK on amazon and i love them.
And to think... i can get them anywhere, any time :) Life is good!
It's dangerous for exactly that reason. We would eat far too many.
How many Pop Tarts can you eat before you slide into a sugar coma? Great video!
I think you were referring to the Nut Crusher Peanut Butter Porter at Wild Ride Brew in Redmond.
Great episode. I think Rob took bigger sips hence the blushy face towards the end. That being said, good job Katie for holding your own. Looking forward to the next one. For pasta sauces, I find the organic puttanesca from Whole Foods quite enjoyable (if you like olives).
