On my way home today this is what I see. I have not seen one of these since the '70s. And they were super rare then. As I was leaving, he rolled out the original motor and loaded it on the flatbed.

It's official, I'm stupid!

I was freaking out because the valve spring height was supposed to be 1.90 and I was measuring 2.015. I completely missed the obvious.

update on the Holley cast oil pan fitment issues with the rear main studs
There is a problem installing the Holley oil pan on the gen 3 hemi for the Challenger.

The main studs hit the pan. Oh, and it's a Melling pump, not Milodon.
Rockingham 2021 and meeting Turbo John
Переглядів 472 роки тому
Drove all the way to Rockingham only to discover a bad oil leak at the back of the intake. I thought we had it fixed but it started leaking again. But the good news is we delivered 2 hemi blocks to Arrington speed sport for their expert machine work and we got to meet Turbo John. Go to his youtube channel. Turbojohnracing. Lots of videos on going fast on a budget

just got the diaper installed and started it up to make sure there are no more oil leaks. we found that it had also been leaking at the rear of the manifold and we thought it was the rear main seal because it was leaking down the bell housing and dripping off the bottom of the bell housing.
Lesson Learned. Cause of the fire.
Переглядів 333 роки тому
I hoped we could find a simple cause for the fire and we did. A valve cover leak and an exhaust leak.
10.10 ET at Bristol Dragway with a "little" engine FIRE!
Переглядів 383 роки тому
Test and Tune at Bristol Dragway. Dart is running great. A little oil leaks from a valve cover on to the headers starting an engine fire. Thankfully Bob Burton, the fuel attendant saw the flames as I drove by and stopped me. He had a fire extinguisher as did about everyone else who came to my aid. Thanks to all of them and especially Bob for saving the Dart.
First step with the 6.4 hemi. Should I leave the crank in with the torque to yield main bolts?

Motortrend built a 6.4 that made 1050 HP with just a drop in forged piston and rod kit. I wanted ARP main studs but they are not available until December. Here is a link to the Motortrend article. www.motortrend.com/features/build-practical-bomb-proof-6-4l-hemi/

I used a belt sander because I ran into the same issue
Hell yeah
Sweet setup.
Thanks. That’s answered my questions about the system
@oldandboosted
Hey . I'd like to chat with you about the sniper on e85. Please pm. Me
I'll be happy to discuss the E85 in the sniper but I don't know how to PM on UA-cam. What is your Facebook page?
@@oldandboosted Jp poole
Congratulations, it's in really good condition.
I also had one that color and a black vinyl top, and a 4 spd to boot, but the TA motor was gone , had the original tranny.
Dont know why, but i love seeing these cars in less than perfect condition, ratty like this one. This green looks the best on the AAR cuda's in my opinion.
Could you run more boost than the 10lbs on e85 with those injectors?
The injectors will run out at about 17 lb of boost at about 7,000 RPM
@@oldandboosted sounds good. I have a 421 SBC that I'm debating on going to the sniper or blow thru carb on e85 with a big single turbo. I only plan on running 15lbs max but my NA power is close to 700hp@ the flywheel.
@@bagwellpower2951 The injectors can easily be changed on any Holley Sniper product.
I Have same color aar cuda fully restored! Bring her back to life with alittle work. Most iconic muscle car
The guy said it was going to a new owner to be restored. He even had the original 340 six-pack engine
What are the specs on the cam?
Thanks for watching and commenting on my video. This engine was built by Hensley racing engines outside of Knoxville Tennessee. They spec'd the cam from Comp Cams. It is .631 lift on intake and exhaust. Duration at .050 is 260 intake and 262 exhaust with a 112 lobe separation. It is grind number 4017BE / 4015BE R 112.0
@@oldandboosted You're welcome, and thank you for the specs! A detailed walk around of your car would be great. You're running awesome ETs and I'd love to hear about your set up and how you have your Sniper set up. I noticed don't run a intercooler. I'm looking to run efi and boost in the future. Keep up the great content. New sub!
Yes, it certainly has rust, but it certainly isn't gone, it can be saved.
Thankfully, yes. He said he sold it to a guy who is going to restore it.
@@oldandboosted thank you for sharing this car with the internet world. Glad it's going to be saved
I'd show you my mistakes but then I'd look retarded 🤣🤣🤣🤣 we all do stupid things Shout out to Johnathan the genius who saved the day 👏👏.
Thanks for your post. I felt so stupid when Jonathan in tech support pointed out my mistake
How have I not seen this video?! Thanks for the info
Send it! Lol
That's what I may have to do. I guess we will find out
Got any videos of the car running at the track?
Thanks for your reply. I will post a video soon.
How are running your fuel lines you know you can run bigger injectors in it one guy's making 2300 hp on sniper 4500 with 210 lb. Injectors
For this car the factory 120 lb injectors are plenty. It's a stock block. We run a 1/2 inch cloth braided hose from the fuel cell to a filter, then to 2 walbro pumps up to the front, filter again, then through Sniper, to regulator, then return to cell.
@john McLeod who is making 2300hp on sniper efi? You sure it's the carb style throttle body or just Sniper efi bc they have ls style intake sniper efi stuff too
When you run e85 what do you have to change on the Holley to make it work
Nothing on the Sniper itself but all other components must be rated for ethanol. We flush gasoline through it after a race weekend because the car might sit for a week or two. If you run E85 in a daily driver, you should be fine. Of course the tune must be changed. It takes about 30% more ethanol than gasoline. Some people have had success by upping the cubic inches by 30% in the set up wizard, but we got a professional tune from Steve Morris Engines
@@oldandboosted so for example, if I want to run my NA 466” BBF on e85 with this set up, simply add 30% displacement (extra 140”) in the initial set up which would take it from a 466” to a 606” roughly? Am I understanding you correctly?
@@taylorgtrotter many others have "cheated" the cubic inches like that but I went with a professional tune.
@@taylorgtrotter That would get your motor to START, not run correctly. It would just start and run, so you could proceed and tune it (not use the auto-tune self-learn magic-box bullshit that holley pushes)
What type rwhp
Haven't had it on a dyno, but it went 6.47 in the eighth mile on 5 lbs boost launching off of idle. Car is 3500 lbs
