Quite possibly it was the high pitched induction noise of air going into the engine that caused it. You may think that far fetched, but I have seen it happen when a bike was approaching and was still 20-30metres away. Group of 5 horses standing next to me simply bolted. They all jumped around me and fled. When the herd leader saw that I didn't bolt, she stopped (it was a herd of mares) and so everyone else stopped. They all settled down after a few minutes and that was the end of it. Motorcyclist knew nothing about it. They were long gone. The only safe thing is to stay absolutely miles away and follow the direction of the rider.

This is also a massive issue here in the Texas hill country area, roads here are so lazily made and there are so many times I've almost been hit or almost hit someone because a turn or a hill has zero visibility. We literally have stop sign intersections at the top of hills with no visibility here, really don't know what goes through some of these road designer's heads.

English road infrastructure is just so ancient it really does not hold up well

Awesome guy- thank you for being such an awesome road user. I heard the car driver moaning! These are living creatures- they get scared! Lobby government to provide safe off road riding - till then the are on the road as there is nowhere else for them

Personaly my opinion is that horses need to get banned from the road.its not the fucking middelages anymore.they shit everywhere there slow they get spooked easely its just a danger on the road.And its not even healthy for a horse to walk on hard surfaces.

So lots of people praising the biker but no-one condemns the idiot who is riding a poorly trained horse on public highway that they do not pay road tax for whilst uninsured and without any means of identification in the event of their selfish behaviour causing an accident. People should take responsibility for controlling their pets in public

And this is why horses shouldn't be on the road at all... plenty of room to overtake anyway. =D Even done it myself a few times going the speed limit of the road with a nice exhaust sound as I roll on by - can hear the exhaust from a mile away easily.

Here I thought I was a danger to myself and others by riding my motor scooter on the roads. The danger levels created here put my scooter antics to shame.

Never understood why England loves to plant hedges or build walls right on the edges of roads. Where are you supposed to pull over in case of an emergency or flat tire? Don’t they have a lot of accidents because of that?

The horse shouldn't be on roads like that if it's easily spooked by vehicles.

I don't think I saw the rider thank you for your perfect behaviour towards her and the horse. Least she could do. Not thanking gives riders a bad name.

Once there was a horse that would get spooked if it saw its own shadow and whenever it passed us, we had to stand still or if we had umbrellas, we would have to put them down because otherwise the horse would spook on the road.

The rider is not dressed in the proper high vis gear, and whenever you are riding on the roads you should always have another person with you. Also NEVER trot or canter on a road. That's just dumb.

Once I was riding my horse chip this girl on her horse told me to be careful because was far from the road then an 5 min later chip was scared from an drunk driver so I stopped chip to tell him to move aside then the car came straight for us moving where we were so I risked my life jumping someone's fence n they told me I could stay for a bit I told them no thanks I need to get home before nigth n kept moving but then the drunk driver said "what you think your doing bītch!? " I told him shut up if you run my horse over its over for ur driving because I'd already call 911. And then he left cussing at me so me n chip gollaped home stopped if car came n told the cars to move over if they were on the lane we were. But we made it home safely

Omg this is me on my horse but he not scared of the massive truck he fines the leaf on the ground scarey (who's horse or pony is the same)

Why was the person riding their horse on a narrow road in the first place???
