They can be bittersweet or hopeless or liberating or a mix of all that. Olivia's is probably my favorite since she thought of herself as so frail and incapable and ended up living through all that happened, eventually becoming a happy, confident botanist.

28:08 O'ssa's commentary on the slums is so interesting. Hardened by witnessing extreme despair, he believes in taking fate into your own hands and overcoming hardship with great strength. It's good personal advice, and it's clearly a mindset that has carried him far, but he also resents these people for being weak. Everybody else instead understands the slums as a product of a broken society, and view Ossa's commentary as cold or offensive. It's not reasonable to expect everybody to be exceptional and overcome true hardship. I love the radical selfishness of the yellow mage faction, and this dialogue is such a great piece of their ideology, as well as a great set of character moments. Really well written stuff.
