Blinky the clown, in Denver Colorado, and his antique shop.
I watched Blinky all the time when I was a kid. He was a great influence on children. My family even sing Happy birthday to each other in the way Blinky use to sing it to the kids. I wished I had gone and visited his antique shop before it closed. I loved him then and still do 45 years later. A great Icon.
Maybe you're ugly and/or smell bad.
I remember Blinky! His rendition of happy birthday is forever etched in my child hood memories. Sadly his shop is now closed:(
I grew up in Leadville in the 80's and that fence was always there. It was there in 1980 when I moved up there. How funny to see it again.
Thanks - I appreciate it!
Thanks! He was stranded at the 7-11 across from him shop-said he waited 2 hours for a cab and the nerd that I am I offered him a ride home. Completely random and unexpected but I remember him so clearly. We had a great talk as I drove and he signed an 8x10 picture for me when we got back to his house. I am going to get a frame for that one! I hope that sets the tone for 2009!
I met him today and he said he fell three time with the cane but now has a walker/seat combo and hasn't fallen once. What a good guy, 87 years young and looking forward to 90. My 2009 stared off great with this meeting.
I met Blinky on south Broadway, he is a very nice man."God Bless you Blinky"
I grew up in denver and never went to his show. but I watched it all the time as a kid. funny thing is he is the only clown I like
This IS a neat sight to see, and only a slight detour on your way downtown to the Golden Burro.
Thanks--he is a Denver children's TV institution! I have chatted with him a few times. He's a nice old guy.
