While I typically agree with you, these items are from a higher end brand that positions themselves as “higher quality” so its misleading when people look at the fibre contents and general quality and its lacking. I totally agree a knitting machine version to achieve the crochet look is perfectly fine if thats all people can afford but these are quite pricey pieces that for just a bit more you can shop locally or small businesses and get way more bang for your buck. Also im sick of this argument “its all people can afford” when I’m showing tops that cost upwards of $100. These prices are past the threshold of affordable clothing and fall more in to higher end where I would suggest to shop small businesses. Obviously i don’t have time to cover all these points in a 60 second video but the sentiment remains if you can; here are some higher quality alternatives, If you can’t; this store is too expensive regardless.

@@KatrinaLashmar But now you're changing the narrative - the video only highlighted that you hate knitware that is "pretending" to be crochet, not that you just hate fancy brands doing it? If it's an expensive brand my point is even more valid - they couldn't make crochet clothes that also give a fair wage either, so they found a solution that fills the gap in the marked without exploiting people. That's a good thing. The only real solution to your problem is for brands no matter pricepoint to stop selling anything that looks like crochet - which both you and I know isn't going to happen for as long as it's trendy. So, making machine knits look like crochets is literally 100% the best solution out there.

Oh ouchie ya I would really hurt after a while. Also a lot of yarn comes in balls so it would be easy to wind with a winder but when it comes in a hank like this you really need a swift! Takes up a lot of space though

Theres lots of yarn available at thrift stores and craft stores can have more budget options that are exactly same materials if not higher quality.

Its knitted lace stitches trying to mimic trendy crochet garments. You can find yarn closer to $5 to $10 per ball. My point is if you like this ‘crochet look’ dont buy from fast fashion and instead look for more sustainable options where people aren’t being exploited to make them.

I think it depends on what country are in but normally you’re allowed to bring non-metal needles only but you can always check the airlines website

It doesn’t matter. Someone has to operate the machine and sew the pieces together. These people are still being exploited and these fast fashion brands should be avoided altogether for more sustainable options.
