The City Commission fails miserably to properly fund, educate and train the police department. The crime is much higher than reported. They intentionally deceive the public on that fact because they are concerned that if people knew the truth, they wouldn't send their children to U.F. While they boast "good medical care" because of U.F. and Shands hospital the reality is the polar opposite. "Again" they deceive the public with intent. The County government isn't much better. Actions speak louder than words. Overall, extremely high cost of living and utilities because of GRU does not make this a good community to live in - even if its in Florida.

I was trying to start at the Myrtle beach campus but they’re aloof with a lot of issues such as transfer credits. Example, I have one English class listed as transferable on their unofficial guide and when I fought to get my transfer credits evaluated before stating, they came back and would accept anything. I have a bachelors degree already and they wouldn’t even take an english class. They want me to take everything over so they get more money. And they won’t give me an official answer about taking specific classes at a community college to transfer those credits over… I just want to know, officially, if they’ll accept certain classes/credits before I take them specifically to transfer them over (it’s cheaper at the community college).
