Trees & Customer Appreciation | It Cost More than I Thought!! ROAD TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM 35
Well said Brother. God speed on your business.
Going to be much faster with the plow
Love the content man🔥
Thanks brother!! 👊
Tyler went to Paul smiths. Good college for forestry and arboriculture
i have a plow for my tractor, it was for a light duty truck or suv but it had the brackets attached so i can put it on in place of the bucket. im getting ready to put the bucket back on, last time i had to plow i moved a bunch of dirt now that its not froze. i dont expect anymore snow but if it happens i will just use the rear blade and turn it around so it doesnt dig in. my snow plow is the sno-way with the clear mold board. its probably the best weight for my tractor. its just had the lights & pump removed.
I was definitely digging up some lawns and driveways as well. When the grounds not frozen there’s almost no way to avoid it. I might try some shoes on the plow and see how that works
@@roadtofinancialfreedom2011 i would probably use shoes also but where they attach on my plow it needs repair, looks like someone used it at the wrong angle.
are those all pay jobs or are you just a good guy?
Haha all paid! A couple are my Dads rentals but other than that I definitely don’t work for free lol
I bought 2 plows for my tractor in the last 2 years. never used them for snow. we had one good storm a few weeks back but I didn't want salt on my new tractor! does that leave marks? mine is 50hp 6700 lbs its too much for a nice driveway
Mines a 45hp and with the plow it definitely leaves a mark when the grounds not frozen! It’s been great for in the city with all the tight driveways. I try and wash it right after each storm because the salt is brutal on it
Man cranking off then going to town. What a life this guy lives
It’s truly one of a kind
Word of mouth, reputation and who you know! Keep up the great work!
That’s it!! Thank you sir 😁
Awesome let’s work together
Master operator for sure.
Nice job
Thank you!
Great job on the brochures those look very professional! Your business is growing nicely
Thank you sir! I’m excited to track how successful they are
Who are you calling little?
🤣🤣
We went through the same problem this season with not enough stuff for the guys to do. A diversified portfolio of commercial, seasonal/hourly/per event type contracts hedged our revenue/labor/weather pattern variables. Maybe also ask the guys if they have any other skills besides landscaping (mechanic, interior, etc) that you could quickly learn just enough to market and sell jobs for. Just my two cents
Love the hustle btw I’m subscribed
Thank you for the advice! I’m thinking of adding some other services for next winter. I’m hoping to find something that we would only do in the winter so it doesn’t affect our summer work
I’d say a pizza party once a quarter is a your best bet for incentive to work
The classic pizza party haha
love the content broski ill be with you on your journey best of luck to you!
Thanks for the support brotha!!
Oh baby!! It’s in and it’s glorious
I took it to the hotels and actually had a blast haha
Wow that Tyler guy sounds like a real hero.
He blows more snow than Tony Montana
if you're running any kind of equipment you need $100 an hour minimum when actively working. Lots of set up time and getting to the job and upkeep of equipment.
I agree. I have a hard time estimating the hours I will be working with a piece of equipment on each job so I built the cost into my hourly rate per man. I based the increase on the number of hours I use my equipment in a year and the number of man hours we work in a year. I'm not sure that's the best way to do it but its been working for me
@@roadtofinancialfreedom2011 Think of everything in 20 -30 minute blocks. Half hour for stairs, half hour for deck, half hour to plow, half hour for sidewalk. That way even if you have issues with your equipment you build enough buffer to cover your time into maintain equipment and talking to customers. Nothing is ever free, and remember, you're not running a charity, you're trying to make money. Never be the cheap guy, be the good dependable guy and charge a premium for it.
That’s great advice thank you!
That plow is going to be a time saver !
Big time!

nice work =)
You're doing a great job. Just a little advice that I noticed you aren't doing that can save you a lot of money in the future. Turf and plant diseases are very easily transferred from one property to another. Make sure you are cleaning or at least blowing off all your equipment between jobs. That includes fall leaf cleanup. The last thing you want is to transport fungus and disease from one job to another. Keep up the good work and wishing you great success. Don't forget under the mower decks.
Do yourself a favor- don’t use the helmet set up, cuz the helmet setup makes most people dizzy! Too jerky. And please cut back the shrubbery some, so you can get all the leaves underneath, otherwise it looks unfinished. Thanks. I will sub, anyway, to see how you do. 😁 PS,I do lawn care too, so know whereof I-speak. And if theres leaves on the windowsills, get those too.
Hey! I just started watching this series the other day (I'm actually only on #5 at the moment). What would you do re; storage if you didn't have the garage to store your tools in? I'm running into that problem now in making my business plan; I live in a big city where space is expensive to rent. I already have the truck but would have nowhere to store a trailer. Edit: and I'd be concerned about storing tools in the truck overnight etc.
Good question! What tools would you be using? I would recommend renting any large items that require storage such as trailers, mowers etc. any smaller hand tools I would buy and keep at my house or apartment. Once you’re busy enough and can afford it, I would look into renting a storage unit or finding someone who has a garage/shed that you can rent for a deal or maybe an exchange of services. If you need a trailer and don’t want to or can’t rent one, I would definitely look into a storage facility with better rates outside the city or start asking around and find someone with extra space. If you’re comfortable leaving it outside there are trailer locks that you can buy, but I would still be nervous only using that in a big city!
How much did you quote for that job?
For the hedge? I sent a quote of $3,000 to cut and remove the tops and $5,000 to remove the whole hedge including stumps
🤔 20 to 30 bucks _per month_ per customer to pick up trash???? Are you grabbing one or two kitchen bags per customer? How did this work? That sounds crazy.
Some of them only had a couple bags but the majority would have right around 5 bags per bin. You can imagine why I got out of it!! Only the companies with insane volume and route density as well as packers can make a profit. Not a game I want to play!
Wait, you guys clean under the decks, but not the decks themselves?
Good observation! We did blow off the decks but if they had a lot of personal belongings that are easy to blow off we wouldn’t! The HOA requested under the decks is a priority
🗑🗑🗑🗑
I should’ve moved it sooner. That’s one of my garbage bins from when I had my garbage business!
Just subbed, just to see a fellow entrepreneur try to make it in this crazy world! Good luck!
Thank you I appreciate it! Good luck to you as well😁👍
subbed so i can follow your journey, im curious how u get money from leaves ?
Thanks so much! And we have a lot of people in my area that pay to have their leaves removed off of the property. You can turn the leaves to compost and sell it that way to make money but we make our money from the customers!
@@roadtofinancialfreedom2011 awesome man im routing for ya , keep an eye out ill comment on a few videos help you get the algorithm working for ya :)
Much appreciated!! Ill keep trying to put better content out there 😁👍
I love it! Great work keep it up! One tip I’ll leave with you is make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy in case them leaves get on your mower and start a fire! I’ve seen it happen a lot! But keep up the awesome work and keep the videos coming! I’ll watch them all
Thank you!! That’s definitely good to know I will start keeping one with me 😁👍
Good idea🎉😊
Lay your hose on the Ground. Push the Leaves to the hose, it will save the Hose and your Back.
That is a lot of work. Good job. I just couldn't stand doing all that. I would of found a drier day and mowed/mulched it up. Seems it would of been much faster and healthier for the lawn too.
Thank you it was a lot! Some yards we mulch but with this amount of leaves we removed them to prevent snow mold and other disease. I would have blown them into the woods but the customer insisted on having them removed!
Huge clean up!!! how many acres? I think it looks like 5 or so, either way your system seems pretty good
Thank you this year was the first year with the plow and debris loader. It’s made things much easier. And you were close it’s 7.78 acres!
Vous m'avez donné le vertige, désolé mauvaise vidéo
Sorry to hear that! I will try mounting it to the equipment or slowing it down. Thanks for the feedback
I can try mounting it on the equipment next time!
The camera is moving so much that I'm getting motion sickness!
This video had me dizzy from start to finish. Head cam does not work. What a shame because this could have been really nice and relaxing to watch.
What are you talking about dawg? Clearly it works.
Can you make a video talking about how you go find a business to buy or get into and things of that nature?
Definitely!
How did you like the ram 1500?

Very helpful info I also have a small landscaping business here in upstate the ADKS to be exact. I’m going into my second season and looking to grow into commercial
No kidding! That’s awesome. I’m right near lake Champlain in Plattsburgh.
@@roadtofinancialfreedom2011 I’m in lake placid!
