remember which way the yellow stripe goes before you place the highway down. in the UK and Europe the stripe should be on the right and the ramps should be on the left. in The United States and the rest of the world the Stripe should be on the left and the ramps should be on the right. if you placing it International style place the stripe on the left if you have it European style your doing it wrong and you can cause a crash.

Ok! Another newbie question...What are those little grey rectangles that you are using to raise the plan by a fixed amount? I've tried various things but nothing seems to work like that in my game.

I've just bought this simulation and I'm trying to get to grips with the road networking. So, these videos are a godsend. However, some things aren't working for me the way they seem to for you. For example I've laid down a motorway using RHW as you described and then tried to use the rail trick to get it to level, and it doesn't seem to work as well as it does in the video. It smooths it slightly, but doesn't flatten it as perfectly as it seems to in your example. I've tried an experiment by creating a steep hill and running the motorway over it and then a railway, and I'm still left with a pretty steep sided hill in the road. Any thoughts on why it doesn't work as well in mine, I'm wondering if I'm missing another Mod. BTW: I thought it was cool that on the steep sided hill the motorway was changed to have double yellow lines between the lanes to stop overtaking on the blind hillside.

No matter what I do, I just can't get this RHW to let me build the off/on ramps up the slope. Following video to a tee. When trying to drag the RHW ramp up slope says "unsuitable grade for construction". Wonder if this has to do with the newer NAM / RHW version I'm using since this video or something. I feel like I have to be making this harder than it needs to be to build a simple on/offramp & connect. Getting frustrated. Can anyone help?

FINALLY!! Some Sim City 4 Tutorials that explain slowly, thoroughly, and concisely. I can hear the tutorial without shitty music thumping in the back (fore) ground. And the screen isn't blurry as all hell. Can't wait to start playing the game now with all your tips. Thanks man!

Are you kidding?! You see cloverleafs only in rural parts of the US. In metropolitan areas, you have more complex interchanges such as the stack, windmills, turbines etc. There are some weird interchanges with no shape also, take a look at interchanges near Los Angeles and all the other cities around it, you will rarely see a cloverleaf.

Your tutorial is superb..... but I have nothing but problems with networks vs. terrain. I do like SC4 but the NAM has become so complex it's ruining the fun of my game because I'm now wasting vast amounts of time dealing with it.

But this sin't a highway at all it's an avenue, can you build a tunnel with a six lane highway?
