How many weeks old can fry go back in with their parents? I have a 55g nano community tank (spotted blue eyes, cardinal tetras, 2 hillstreams, otos and pygmy cories) but plan on putting eggs if i find them in my 5g neo tank until the babies are big enough not to be eaten then put them in my big tank.
@high_fructose_corn_syrup to be safe, I usually wait 2 months or so, depending on the blue eye species. When they're big enough that they won't fit in anyone's mouth is always a safe bet.
@DepthsUnknown oh wow, I didn't realize it can take 2 months for them to grow big enough. I was thinking a couple weeks. Lol ty for your reply. I truly appreciate it 😊
@high_fructose_corn_syrup some species get bigger quicker, I err on the side of caution. The cardinal tetras would probably be the ones to worry about
@DepthsUnknown i have 1.2 of the spotted ones. My male has the purplish coloring towards the end of his body Ive seen some that are teal. Are they different species or do they randomly produce the different colors? I'd like to get some of the teal ones also but I don't want to muddy up their colors if they are all different sub species/strain. Can you help explain the colors even tho they have the same scientific names?
@@DepthsUnknown also i keep seeing them doing the mating dance/ritual. In plants and even along the gravel but I never see eggs. I don't get it? Been feeding baby brine to help condition them and the females do look nice n fat with eggs but im just not seeing them? They show zero interest in the spawning mops. They like the real plants and moss.

@nattergalen1000 a decent amount for that size tank would be 15ish. And male to female ratio would definitely be more females than males. I'd go for something like 3 females to 2 males, or 2 females to 1 male.

How does the overflow box work to get the flow into the sump? I’m gathering info on how to make my own sump pump
@tnt_mrparkup7253 The outflow pumps up to a top tank. That tank has a drilled outflow drain that drains to the sump.
