Split Peak Wave Pool Configuration - -Olas Surfing Technologies
We are OLAS, an Ecuador-based company, created with the vision of taking surf wave pools everywhere. In 2009, British award-winner physicist and passionate surfer John Baxendale (who won three Science Queen Awards for his inventions and scientific novelties) started his search for a perfect artificial wave. After several years of research and development, in 2014 he patented his Wavemaster technology for wave generation, capable of creating laminar flow waves (movement of surfing waves with zero turbulence). A modular, highly energy-efficient wave generation system.
Olas purchased John’s Wavemaster patent and hired a team of engineers to further study his technology for wave generation, test it and scale it to real size waves.
Through a long period of trial and error, testing and improvements, we realized the versatility of John’s model. Its modularity allowed us to twitch many variables to either create perfect waves or emulate the imperfection of surfing waves in the sea.
Through our team, we have tested John’s technology and have reached our own proof of concept. Our wave generation system has very low energy consumption, allows for the creation of waves of different sizes, shapes and durations. We can create rights, lefts and split peaks with different sections (barrels, wedges, cutbacks, maneuvers).
Waves can be as long as the budget allows. They can grow in size using larger modules. Spilling or plunging waves to meet different surfing needs, for advanced, intermediate or beginner levels. Compared with other electromechanical technologies, our technology is fairly simple, robust, and works perfectly with little maintenance.
