I do a little bit of every, I post a lot of videos of trains, model railroad, my trucking adventures, my children, maybe even some life hacks. I drive a truck for a living and in my spare time I can be found changing diapers or photographing trains.

Tweetsie Railroad Ghost Train 2017
Переглядів 29 тис.7 років тому
A few clips from the 2017 ghost train. Haven't uploaded in like a year to UA-cam so I figured it was time to shoot something new. Shot on a Canon 6D with 50mm 1.4 lens, video isn't my strong suit. This years theme (escape from area 12) was great, a zombie themed trip. Seemed fresh and new after previous years. Former US Army and White Pass & Yukon 190 disguised as number 13 pulls passengers aro...

Nice video
YIPPIE
GP16??
Glad you caught that. I used to live in Hickory. Never thought I would see the day NS would drop through traffic from that line, it used to be pretty steady and consistant all the time with four through freights, the coal trains, locals at Oyama and whatever else NS threw into the mix.
Mmmm. Looks good!
0:59 sounds the best
My entire track does this if anyone knows of a way to fix this that would be awesome
Great video! I love how you frame your shots to take in mountains and scenery.

The power of steam will never die
Very Good video 👍
Hey kitty!
I see nothing wrong with this. A straight forward move. However as others have said, the problems really start if the wagons don’t clear the points so the loco can’t go back onto them. Get a feel for your handbrakes as you let the wagons roll, don’t panic and don’t stop too early.
Maybe check the Rail Joiners. I personally am no N scale train expert and am more used to HO/OO model trains.
I can’t believe I found my dad and he used to be a youTuber that is me that is me that is me!!
Goo goo ga ga
Oh my goodness you thought I was cute when I was younger look at me now that is literally me he is my dad!
Omg that is me when I was younger!!!!
This would fit right in with building a model of disney land in the G scale version of the USA.
Rest In Peace to 777
I know 777 was retired, but 711? I thought 711 is still running.
@@RailfanDaniel1997 Oh my bad, I thought it was 711
I love that horn called Leslie RS5T-RF
Sadly, #711 no longer has it. Her RS5T and bronze bell were stolen by vandals a few years ago. She now has a K3LA and a steel bell.
@@RailfanDaniel1997 wow ☹️
So did you get an "A"??? Looks good.
I wonder if a railroad would ever try this with one employee with a belly pack and a remote controlled locomotive? I guess you need at least 2 people with one working the switch if you need to have a person always riding the cars, and working the hand brakes.
I know it is many, many years later, but that was a good editing job of the various clips.
Nice catch.
По-русски это называется французить.
Cool...
Like to see the yard behind the camera to the right
Don’t really agree with this kind of rail car moving! Lazy crew!
very old video
Nice. Subscrito a tu chanel !
A variation on the "Dutch drop", quite illegal.
Well that's one way to do it another way would be doing the flying switch maneuver
We use to do gravity drops until BNSF put a stop to it.
Do not try this at home
I’ve done this with 70 car trains
PRR , LIRR ,it was called a flying switch
Good thing those cars co operated lol
LJUKAVA LJISICA ovaj koda je iz naših krajevâ - snađi se druže
I wonder if they have any rules about doing this I know it is common or was, but with all the new rules, who knows
Been illegal in the USA for decades. Used to be a very common practice.
I sure do love the old locos
Gotta love the sound of the 567 prime movers, EMD bronze bell, and the N&W Leslie RS5T-RF horn. Sound alot like our C&O GP7 #5833 at Hocking Valley Scenic Railway (equipped with EMD bronze bell and Leslie RS5T-RRO horn)
I like it
NEVER GiVE UP
I still don't understand how come they didn't use the siding right in front of the yard to run around
Because they would have had to do double the work.
Check wiring might be opposite from before and after turnout
Health and Safety Executive would have a field day if that was done in the U.K.
Jolly good show

This was one of the scariest drives, we had a GMC Sierra and a 24 foot camper! Getting to the camp site was worth every scary moment! Wish we had stayed longer!
How did they release the brakes without air? I thought the brakes applied when the air is disconnected.
The air dumps once the locomotive detaches, the brakes are only applied when air is in the system. Otherwise you can bottle the air (which you should never do) and do it that way.
The air was bled off the cars. No air= no air brakes. They set the hand brake and used that to ease the cars out of the siding and then stop.
@@haroldreardon8070 Thanks. Train brakes don't make sence to me for some reason.
@@insylem Basically the compressor on the locomotive pumps air into reservoir tanks on each car. When the air is popped, these tanks use their air to apply the breaks. Normally this air will hold the brakes for a few hours, maybe even a few days on some models, but it will run out of air eventually, and the brakes will be released. That's why we still have to tie enough handbrakes to keep the train stopped without the use of the airbrakes.
I had the same question insylem - I had (clearly mistakenly) always thought that the build up of air pressure was to release the airbrakes and therefore if a line broke the disconnected cars would lose pressure that was holding the brakes open and thus "fail safe"... I'm not a railway employee so I have no argument with those who have experience/knowledge, but I can't figure out how failsafe is possible if the airbrakes rely on the absence of air pressure to release and the presence of air pressure to engage? but i do recall if trucks lose air pressure they lose airbreaks so if trains work the same way then its the failsafe aspect that i don't quite get...
