I like the idea of LPN to RN because I’m only in school for a year before I become a nurse and can work with nursing experience while I’m pursuing my ADN. The community college I will do my ADN-RN at, there’s a pre-program entry phase that I have to do before I get into the semesters. There’s 4 semesters in the program.
Hello Jativia. Currently I am a CNA/PCT in a hospital. I will be enrolling into an ADN-RN program at a Community College. After I graduate and get my RN license, I will start my Nurse Residency Program at my hospital. I will be a Med Surg RN. I’m looking forward to this journey. Oh and the tuition will be covered by the workforce development center I’m a part of because I’m a scholar of the workforce center

What made you want to be a nurse?
@@syelling1976 my first job was caregiver at nursing home & then I became a med tech. I loved it ever since. I have a very caring & compassionate personality & love making a difference, even through the hard times.
I’ve also worked at a direct support professional caring for people with intellectual disabilities.
Ok then ma’am you are just doing it big then. I love that you are doing this and should others that they can do it too. Keep up the great job. I have done CNA before but i moved away for a while now I’m ready to go back into it because of the people as well as the experience.

Did you make flash cards for the stuff you highlighted or did you just reread it over to Memorize?
Yea I would do both.. sometimes I would use Quizlet that’s similar to flash cards or just reread it over & study that way. Making sure I understood the material vs just trynna memorize it and it not stick

I had a little bit of experience already from me being a med tech so I was already comfortable with the cart. But for skills I am still trying to get comfortable lol I’m 6 months in and I am still learning.

I was going to go to Ecpi Greenville but it wouldn’t work for me , they wanted me to pay them but didn’t give me a schedule where I could work
I know exactly what you’re talking about. They wait until like a week before your next class to give you the new schedule & that’s something I dislike about it! Luckily I worked somewhere that worked with me to be in school.
I’ll say if you do still consider going, it is harder said then done. But get a job that will let you work every Saturday & Sunday and 1-2 days during the week for shifts after 4pm! Because classes/Cliniclas are mostly Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.

@@kenyettafant I think as long as you go back before your credits expire, it’s 10 months. I am required to take college algebra which I’m taking right now and then my LPN-RN transition class next. The actual program requires like 7 nursing classes (Med surge, Peds, etc.) I’ll graduate this November.
