Jeep JKU - crawl up out of Indian hot springs to the west
Bruneau and Jabridge wilderness rivers area heading up and out of the canyon. It starts out slow gets little steeper and off camber about 15 min in. Yes I stalled the jeep a few times. Its an interesting feeling when you stall and start to roll backward when on steep inclines. :)

Beta 300 xtrainer ride out by Rabbit Butte to Snake River big utv/atv group ride
Переглядів 1095 років тому
ATV buddy txt Friday for a ride Saturday morning. I thought it was going to be a small group ride so i brought the beta xtrainer instead of the atv. turns out it was a big utv/atv group ride with around 50 utv/atv mix. I knew it was going to be a slow ride at that point but I still made the best of it and had a good time. I rode mostly off the main trail to stay out of the stream of dust.

    did you have to buy a fuel programmer or anything? any added power?

    • @DAG-gf6gc
      @DAG-gf6gc 6 років тому

      Yes you will need to buy a programmer if you go with the dual barkers. Yeah i noticed a good bit of power added but where you really notice it is when you start adding more engine mods. In this video all i had done to the motor was a HS raptor cam and EHS's performance intake, the grizz was pretty punchy off the line and topped out mid/70 mph if memory serves. Exhaust has held up great over the years but the black powder coating has faded a bit.

    What trail tech do you have?

    • @DAG-gf6gc
      @DAG-gf6gc 7 років тому

      Hi Grizzly 8600, its the trail tech vapor. Love this thing. IMO its mandatory once you starting adding motor mods and things like that to know right where your water temps are and rpms. Thats really only what i use it for it has other things as well like trip meter and speedo but never hooked up the tracking magnet for that. I use the stock pod for speed and trip meter. Anyways its held up great over the last 3 years that includes being out in poring rain, being pressure washed after each ride, snow, below 0 temps you name it. Oh its worked now for over 8000 miles on the grizzly. Good Luck!

    It's cool to see a Grizzly take a brute. You should list all your mods on here.I have a 784cc was 633cc (Brute) and it's stupid fast. Fun to have something different.

      Yeah your modded brute would probably take me because of the nature of how your clutching works vs my wetclutch. My belt might last longer though haha I bet that brute is crazy off the line for sure!! Since this video i blew the motor and had to completely rebuild it. I'm now running a 778cc grizz mods include: +5mm stroker crank 105.5mm bbk top end 11-1 CP piston "EHS Racing" Stg1 port/polished/shaved head with +2 ferrea valves/springs intake/exhaust "EHS Racing" Custom grind camshaft +3mm bored out throttlebody true dual exhaust from Barkers PC5 w/autotune EHS Racing custom racing billet intake with intake lid JBS machined primary with other modified clutching upgraded 3 core radiator with spal fan Radiator fan override switch DynaFS Dynatek Coil Kit Elka Stg 3 suspension Rox 5in riser kit with aero bars Highlifter 2in lift kit Weller Racing custom middle gear drive support Dual Batteries wired with a true battery separater switch that i can flip to run them in parrelall for really cold starting, wired with separate relays and fuse blocks for accessories, custom welded battery box mounted in the rear of the grizzly under the seat Totron Dually cubes PIAA "loud as crap" horn ViperMAX 4klbs winch with amsteel Pitbull Growler 27x9x12's on all 4 corners STI HD Beadlock rims Full AP skids SuperATV Rhino axles Upgraded LED blubs HALO LED around headlights A plano storage box in the rear with a custom welded and reinforced rear rack/frame Kimpex rifle mount/storage on the front have a mount on the rear for a 3gal and a 2gal rotopack and a mount on the front for 2x2gal rotopaks for extra fuel

    Great video Dave :) I wish my Grizz had that kind of power. I have an 09 700 with big horn 2.0's, AP skids and a titan cargo box, but no engine mods like what you've got.

  • @holeshot888
    @holeshot888 8 років тому

    did you ever find out what caused that? I'm looking into the 734 kit for my 700 as well.. trying to do my homework on it...

    • @DAG-gf6gc
      @DAG-gf6gc 8 років тому

      +holeshot888 Hey Holeshot, Well at this point i'd just be guessing at what the cause of that mess was exactly. IMO it was probably do to a lack of oil in the crankcase. I just about rolled the grizzly about an hour or so into riding that day. I was climbing a grade with about 16-20 inches of snow to get up to two different razors that were stuck and needed help. I ended up standing the grizz on the rear custom rack i made and the storage. Its the only thing that saved it from coming over ontop of me and pinning me into the snow/ground underneath it. When that happened the grizz was still running and pointing straight into the air and slightly leaning backward toward the downhill slope. As you might know if the grizzly's are running and pointing straight up you will get oil blow back out the crankcase breather valve. Turns out when i opened the airbox that day in my garage i has 3/4-1inch of oil in the airbox. Thats a lot of oil missing from the crank case. When i checked the oil dipstick it was a good bit under the lowest mark. :(. You add no oil to the motor and running the rest of the day balls out 7700+ RPM's for extended periods of time doing snow drifts.. i think thats what did her in. I'm glad i didn't bust the connecting rod out the side of the cases. Anyways if you are looking at a BBK they are really simple to do. Make sure you get a fuel tuner so you can add fuel as needed for the bigger piston. Specially if you have the barker duals and are planning a port/polish of the head and a bigger cam. Are you a member of Grizzlycentral.com? Great community of guys over there and an unparalleled amount of information about anything grizzly including guys that have have done huge motor builds on these things. I actually have a running thread of the complete tear down and build back up of this motor project. In that thread there is a step by step on how to tear the grizz top end down if you just want to do the 734bbk. If you've not done this before it might be helpful. Also recommend a service manual before you start. Good luck, hope to see you on GC... Always good to see another guy willing to take the plunge and build up the motor!! --Dave

  • @rzl07375
    @rzl07375 8 років тому

    Whats your plans now. any new kind of build?

    • @DAG-gf6gc
      @DAG-gf6gc 8 років тому

      +rzl07375 Oh ya it would kill me to bad just to part her out and the grizz isn't worth anything without a running motor. I've already pulled the bottom end cracked the cases cleaned everything out pulled all of the case bearings. I already have a new 105.5 cylinder and a new +5 stroker crank sitting in the garage with a complete bearing kit, seal kit, new bigger middle gear support bracket from Weller Racing, new oil pump, oil chain, and timing chain. Sent the head, original cam, throttle body and TB boot off to EHS Racing. He'll port polish the head with +2 knibblewhite valves/springs port match it to the TB boot and +3 bore out the throttlebody for me. Oh and also put in his custom grind EHS Cam. Should be back up and roaring as a 778cc grizzly in no time with all the head work to go with it.

    Did you bed line your fenders? They look awesome. How is it holding up?

    • @DAG-gf6gc
      @DAG-gf6gc 9 років тому

      Zach Neely Well i just looked it up and its been over two years since i've bedlined them, i didn't realize its been that long. They are holding up great! Really glad i did this when i did. Living in Idaho many of the trails systems are very narrow and when off camber many times you are leaning and scraping against trees or rocks. I found out quickly that i was getting huge scrapes through the painted plastics that yamaha put on the 2012 SE so that was my solution of solving that problem and its worked out really well. Here's more about the process i went though if you are interested. www.grizzlycentral.com/forum/grizzly-chassis-body/38847-truck-bedlined-my-fenders-turned-out-pretty-good.html

      Hey Titan, As your headed to Horseshoe bend when it hits 45 mph 35 mph you will come to a road called Harris Cr Road. hang a right if you get to Pioneer road you went to far. Go up Harris Cr road about 10.9-11 miles and your unloading spot will be on your right. Ride your atv about another mile or so up the road and you will see an atv trail to your left. Thats the trail we took through this creek.
