Joe Farnsworth (d), Peter Washington (b) and Dave Kikowski (p) are pillars of an NYC elite of artists with pedigrees such as the late Pharoah Sanders, The Jazz Messengers and Roy Haynes' Band. This gig took place at the legendary Velvet Note in Atlanta on 10/14/2022.

A few of my heroes
Переглядів 434 роки тому
Last year I started collecting autographed 8x10 glossies of my drumming "heroes." Now collecting these has become a serious hobby. If anyone knows how to contact Steve Jordan, Stewart Copeland, or Zigaboo Modeliste LET ME KNOW. My Twitter handle is @AskMe2Sub I'm also keenly interested in acquiring 8x10 pics of the following drummers ... Jeff Ballard, Brian Blade, Art Blakey, Bun E. Carlos, Mat...
STEALERS WHEEL: Stuck in the Middle with You (Home Depot)
Переглядів 956 років тому
Funniest gig I ever played: A guitarist buddy of mine's mom works at United Healthcare, which sponsored a flu shot drive or something in a Home Depot parking lot. He offers me $75 to jam for two hours. Insane concept, but whatever. When I arrive, my buddy has decided that we should accompany the DJ who went on before us. Totally ad-libbed. Check out the half eaten Chick-fil-A sandwich on my sna...
JESSIE ALBRIGHT: Sweet Home Chicago (El Don Bar & Grill)

Had a blast playing with Jessie and Co last month at El Don in Alpharetta. The manager live streamed part of the gig, a tape of which can be seen at ELDONALPHARETTA/videos/1539776759431600/
FOR SALE: Yamaha 10x9 Maple Custom tom tom (Japan)
Переглядів 9786 років тому
This is one of my favorite drums: Sounds as good as similar toms costing twice as much. Sonically, it's stunning: Punchy. Throaty. Resonant. Tremendous mid range. Stays in tune. The perfect rack tom, which is probably why Weckl, Erskine, and Gadd played these for years. Questions: TEXT me at (404) 281-2025

Always a blast subbing for Jessie Albright and Foster Blues.
YELP REVIEWS: "You can't sell drinks to people who leave."
Переглядів 317 років тому
The last time I played , the club's manager mentioned the number of negative Yelp reviews which had listed volume not food or staff as a strike against the venue. To be clear: is no louder than any other club I've played. But rock musicians should watch their volume in order to enhance the enjoyment of 's patrons. GUSTON'S WOODSTOCK: Jessie Albright and Foster Blues

Last night I had a BLAST subbing (again!) with Jessie Albright and Foster Blues this time at Guston's Grille in Woodstock, GA. Wonderful people. Great musicians. Sizable, fun crowd. DRUMMERS: The drum riser doesn't have a drum rug, so you'll need to bring your own. Also, you'll play from 9:30pm - 1:30am. Depending on the crowd, bring some tools to play either loudly or softly. You want the crow...
ISTANBUL 23" MATT CHAMBERLAIN RIDE: When volume is an issue ...
Переглядів 2747 років тому
Here I am subbing again at Fat Matt's with Fatback Deluxe a really great Atlanta-based Chicago and Delta blues act. Volume has been an issue, so at the band's request I've switched out my A Zildjian 23" Sweet Ride (which was really pingy) for an Istanbul 23" Matt Chamberlain ride. I mellowed the Istanbul's sustain even more by adding a 14" Evans E-Ring.

Joe is da man! This is an incredible solo!! Wow!
That´s level 10000000
Brilliant!
The big thing is the finesse he gets at those speeds, he's really got the art of controlling his volume down to a tee.
That’s decades of experience right there. So creative and free. You da Man, Joe!
Great drummer!
Hate to have missed this opportunity. I would have made the drive into the city if I'd known
it was a great drum lesson!
I love the journey Joe takes us on with his solo changing feels, tempos, and textures.
Notice how he is dancing in his chair while soling. He's feeling everything, not just playing mindless chops.
Hey there, love the share of your signed pics. You've got some great ones!
It looks like he’s just chilling up there:0 no tension just finessing
I am amazed. Joe is tremendous, and this is the first time I have heard of him or seen him...... WoW!
Rip joe💥
Shreds indeed! What kind of cymbals did you have up there then? Interesting how he's not using his left foot so much. I often feel pressure to keep it active but this sounds great.
Wow! With Joe you always get your Farnsworth.
It was a pleasure to see him play up close. He was using my cymbals and snare drum for this gig. They’ve never sounded better!
@@HarryJoiner Wow! Amazing. Like you say, up close must have been incredible. I have never seen any drummer switch back and forth from brushes to sticks like that, ever, and I have seen a ton of drummers live over the last 35 or so years!
I’ve got some other video from the show I’ll be posting in a day or two.
@@HarryJoiner Bring them on!
Could someone write the $900 one brand down, please? sorry, i cannot spell it
Craviotto
Wood or metal shell?
metal
Thanks for posting as I'm just concerned that the 9" depth might be too much?? Thank you!
Nice groove Harry! Cheeseburger on a snare!
Chick-fil-A
Dude this is great
Like butter buddy...
