Yessss, needed that breakdown of the hi-hat pattern! Thanks
Is it at full tempo?
Nah, this is an instructional vid so I’m keeping it widely accessible. If I made a straight up drum cover, that would definitely be full tempo. Thanks for asking!
Great stuff! Thanks for putting it together. Really helps to create new grooves on old themes.
amazing!help me o lot!thanks Jeff
Much Respect. You made the Drum lesson very easy to understand. I see your an expert at Drum Rudiments. Thank You ... Very cool .... Please do Surfin USA by the Beach Boys
I so wish I could play this
Jeff - awesome - nice and clean - no over playing - great job. What muffling ring are you using on the snare? I love that tight dry sound - no overtones. What is that ring?
Hey Mark, thanks so much! That’s called a Big Fat Snare Drum, made in Massachusetts and starting to be available in many places. It’s actually a thick sheet of Mylar that sits on top of the entire drumhead. It lowers the pitch and dries out the overall sound quite a bit. Nice tool to have.
So far best instructor ever !thanks!!’
Where is the bass drum tutorial for this song?
Excellent!!! And funny comment at the end of the video lol
One of the best Wipeout lessons. Love it.
Good
Good technique and analysis of the song, but every other transcription of the beat I've seen shows, for the second bar, accents on the 1, the and of 2, and 4.
Love it!!!
one of the best lessons techniques, thanks Jeff
Hi Jeff very nice teaching 69 year old drummer Robin Gladman male thank you
You’re a saint! I could not figure this beat out. Thanks a ton!
Thx
Great breakdown, Jeff!
What's the tempo tho?
125bpm, 4/4 time the whole way.
Very nice feel and neat playing! Im a guitar player but my girlfriend is a drummer so im always appreciating drummers! I played this song in summer of 2019 for a Berklee Camp and that song really was something to play. Also great sound!
Thanks so much Vicky! That's awesome you're getting involved at Berklee; I graduated from there in 2011. Loved it.
@@jeffhaleproductions I got some scholarships for some online courses but i cant aford to study there, i wish. Its and awsome place for all ive seen and heard, lots of great musicians come out of there.
A+++ Stevie would be proud. I didnt know he recorded twice- makes sense now.
Thanks so much! I once had the chance to mess around with a ProTools session of the original 16-track 2" master tape of this song, which confirmed it.
Great video, Jeff! Well done! Best wishes, Chris!
Awesome, that looks hard af!
Anyone can learn it - with a repetitive fine motor skill, it can be boring to get in enough practice to where it becomes usable. So do this for the duration of a movie and then see where you're at.
This is dope
Haha thanks man!
Awesome job! Can you do tutorial?
Hey Michael, so sorry it took me so long, but I have uploaded an instructional video for this song to my channel.
would you be able to do an instructional on this?
Hello! Sorry this took me so long, but I have uploaded an instructional video for this song to my channel.
What the hell.. This is one of the best ukulele clawhammer videos that I've ever seen. I have my own German uke clawhammer channel in German, but your style is far from what I cover in my course. Could you add a slow version so that I can see what you're doing? GREAT!
Hello! Sorry this took two years, but I have uploaded a tutorial for this song on my channel with a slow version.
