G Adventures Lost City Trek, July 2024. Hiking through the jungle for 5 days to visit Ciudad Perdida (the Lost City).
Founded in circa 800AD, the city was rediscovered in the 1970s by local treasure hunters, however the indigenous Kogi people had been visiting the site regularly long before the treasure hunters found it.
Today under the care of the local Kogi people and in conjunction with the Global Heritage Fund and Colombia Government it is a protected site, and being preserved for future generations.
Today tourists, such as ourselves, can visit the site and learn the history of it, the area, and Colombia.
