Slant 6 cold start, no choke.

Temp was in the low 20’s, detached garage. Slant 6 with 2- 1920 1 barrels. (See other videos). This car actually starts very well cold, even with no chokes. The block has been decked .100 and it’s running a Hugh’s whiplash cam. Cranking compression is 215psi; it has very good vacuum.

My Slant Six Dodge Dart OD’d!!!
Переглядів 24 тис.2 роки тому
Swapped the standard 833 4-speed out for an 833OD box. The burning question is: Did Chrysler call it called a “3-speed with overdrive” or did they call it a “4-speed overdrive”???
1966 Dodge Coronet update, Cam & Carbs!

Lumpy idle video of the Coronet. 383, 915 heads, Flattops, Comp Thumper, 2500 stall, 3.55/grip.
The best? classic car hidden radio option.
Переглядів 3,2 тис.2 роки тому
Rockville boat radio with a hardwired remote pod, no batteries needed. Duel voice coil 4x10 in the dash. A good option for radio delete cars or if you want to leave the stock radio alone in the dash.
Let’s drive the Slant 6, 4 speed, 1966 Dart!

Short drive in the 1966 Slant 6, 4 speed, duel carb Dart. It was a cool 50° day and the duel carbs do not have the chokes hooked up… she’s a little cold blooded. Sorry for the camera mount rattle.

225 w/ Offy 2x1 and 4 speed
Nice ride....
You pilot it very well
I like the look of that offenhauser dual carb manifold. Seems to work well with the stock exhaust manifold too
Brings back some good memories. I ownned 1976,75,77 and 79 Power Wagons. All were good trucks no bells and whistles just great hard working trucks. I wish trucks like those were still available.
Would you ever consider going to Clutch fan setup ?
Got a 2012 Ram Express single cab short bed brand new . The only Dodge pickup truck that i owned. Always had Ford pickup trucks. Didn't really like that year Dodge, but that truck looks good.
@@Oldschoolrules123 Thanks! I have a 2006 single cab too, check out the video I have on it. I prefer the older stuff a bit more too.
Would u sell it
@@TheGeorgiaMediaGroup Sorry, not currently for sale
@@RodLininski I don’t blame y. It’s. Keeper
Badass truck!
@@RJGeiger-tu9lr thank you!
Nice truck😂
I like it!
I guess it must be fantastic then
Nice cruiser Sir! Congratulations, it is a sweet drive! Thank you for posting this Sir.
I had a 76 Aspen 225 3-speed overdrive. Drove it to the junk yard and a month later spotted a woman driving it around town.
wow --- this is a factory base coronet with a original 383 4v?
Love those old Darts with the slant six. I daily it if I owned one.
Tjat 66 dart looks and sounds sweet
That's not how you handle the steering wheel of a car!
Can I ask what hurst shift stick you’re using? Part number perhaps?
Your cars are really gorgeous. And sound so great. This Dart is mint, love the dual carb offenhauser manifold, and the pretty stock look of the engine. And the sound of this Coronet 383 Woaaaaaaah .
I read you about this cam, on the forum "forabodiesonly" I was wondering if you notice an improvement in fue economy with this cam as it seems to bump torque in the really low range. I' m looking for Towing or RV cams for my 1975 Plymouth Fury. It seems that in 1975 the 225 was at it's lowest power output in history with 95hp at 3600 rpm, so maybe anything can increase torque and hp ^^ .
I should probably trade my super bee for one of those
It’s a great looking car. How much horsepower do you think it’s putting out right about now? Thanks!
That’s a great ride bro 👊🏼
Mine had a 3 speed on the column
A car with a fine and very reliable engine!😊
I have a 225 in a short box D100. Just swapped the granny gear 4 w3.23’s for a 833OD w 3.90’s I’m super excited to try it out.
As 66 Dart owner I approve!!
Bellhouseing used ?
Slant 6 OD bell out of a 70’s duster / D100
Love that combo!! You are so lucky!!
I want to put dual carbs on my Slant. I'm looking for a second carb now. Was it difficult to tune the carburators to work properly together?
Not at all, actually. Much easier than a 2x4 setup.
What that chicken doin in the back seat? 😂
You must be a very fast driver; have you ever driven without shoes? 🚓
Never push the clutch in when starting the car, crank in neutral.
Gearbox A 230 excellent
Nice!
What a great car!
Nice!
Cuándo el motor está frío tarda en encender porqué no se le activa el cebador porqué las Revoluciones Por Minuto están muy bajas; saludos.
Back when cars were cars and teslas were for wimps.
Nice toy.... Love the 2 carbs...
Lord forgive me lol its ugly as hell but id choose it over a new Camaro any day of the week
Sounds so smooth. Those are such great little cars.
Just had to subscribe… any new videos?
Neat, so many don’t take care of these trucks.
Chrysler (or…excuse me…Stellantis) needs to bring a modern version of this engine back. Was that 4 on the floor original to the car?
Nice Dart!
my '76 duster came from the factory with a slant 6, iron case A833OD and 3.23's....love it. to me it's happy cruising speed is about 65 mph.... doing a disc brake BBP swap this winter (build date is 11/75, so it still has 4 wheel drums and 5x4 BP), actually looking at options for the rear, thinking of going to a Ford Ranger rear with 3.08's, which should make a great 70-72mph cruising speed.
Sitting pretty high on the suspension there usually chryslers sag after a few thousand miles
What MPG do you on the highway ?
Now with the over-drive, low to mid 20’s.
@@RodLininski what year is the motor? 225 ? 170 ? Is it stock ?
It’s the original 1966 225. .060 over and decked .100. Mild detailing on the head, Hughes whiplash cam. Offy 2x1 intake with a pair of 1920’s jetted with 60’s. Cranking compression is 215psi so it will pull stumps at 1500rpm.
Very Cool. I plan on put the A833 OD in my 67 dart slant six
I appreciate the basic slant six with overdrive demonstration that is what I will have with my 67 Plymouth. Thank You.
