Celtic fan here, coming in peace lol. Turnbull is a special type of player but the game aggressively moved away from his style. It's now all positional and more about 1 on 1s and athleticsm, the creativity comes from the driled movements as oppose the kind of individual creativity Turnbull possesses. A perfect example is of Roman Juan Riquelme. He was a world class version of Turnbull's general style and at the top of his game at Barca until Van Gaal came in. Van Gaal used the kind of positional system which is now meta and both Riquelme and Van Gaal flat out refused to work with each other. Turnbull has been brutally unlucky that, that system has become almost fundamental at a certain level and that was particularly true once Ange came in at Celtic. As for Miller? The opposite is true. His skillset is perfectly suited to how the game has developed and it's simply not possible to judge what kind of player he will even end up never mind how good he will be. I hope you get top money for him whether my club is willing to pay it or not. Someone will, but I hope it's us lol.

It has got to be Lennon Miller for me. The boy is going to be a huge talent.

Hanley has performed very well under Clarke for Scotland. He was one of our best performers at both Euros we’ve been to and hasn’t put a foot wrong until the other night. Of course, this has been in the middle of a back three where he can be the meat and potatoes defender which suits him. But again, he was good against Portugal. Clarke was desperate to get him back even though he’d barely kicked a ball in months before the summer because he believes he’s our best centre back and doesn’t trust the others. At the moment, he’s trying to save his job so playing guys with potential is difficult, and it’s not like we’re stacked with quality waiting in the wings (apart from injured players).

This is a proper legend of the Scottish game. Regardless of club loyalties, characters of the game are well respected. Still cannot believe he's not managed to shake the Scottish twang from his accent. Well done mate, excellent work 💙

An absolute fantastic interview. A real genuine and honest player who was a club legend at Queens. To have Lyle (117 goals) and Dobbie (166 goals) at Palmerston for a spell together was awesome. Met him at Stephen Dobbie's Testimonial Dinner and they signed Lyle's photo when he scored his 100th goal at East End Park.

Good podcast guys really enjoyed it, for me the standard of officiating has seen no immediate improvement under the Willie Collum and John Moss partnership. I get that our broadcasting angles don't help, but some baffling decisions at the weekend.
