I have bought a second hand trials bike to learn the off road skills that will help me on my big bike. How much fun can I have for £1,000?!

The TET route from Whitchurch to Congleton had some soggy and muddy bits that meant a bike got stuck. An epic adventure with @Laramoto 🏍️🥰

Helping the farmer count new lambs with my drone.
Переглядів 934 місяці тому
Found a quiet road for some motorcycle filming and a curious farmer stopped for a chat. Then we tested if he could use a drone to count the new lambs born since his visit the day before.

The best motorcycling road in Mid Wales... Probably
I've absolutely loved watching this. Brought back some amazing memories I had in many of the same places. I've just subscribed 🎉
Not a good start to the trip by overtaking on double unbroken lines.
Another great adventure, Lucky Gurl.
There are hours of roads within 5-15mins of Nerang. Such a shame you didn't experience them.
@@dancotton3199 I know, I kinda hadn’t realised how big Australia is and had to make progress. At least I know where to go next time and take it slower.
What an incredible place to ride….great video 😊👍🏻
@@thebingleywheeler Thank you! I can’t wait to go back!
Sooo green right now lol, glad I know you have already done this 😂fab video xx
@@rebeccachristie1969 I need to go back soon, I’ve hardly seen anything.
Was this the new 19" front wheel version with the lower seat height?
@@reachforthesky1849 No, I had the 21” wheel, 2023 model and the seat was on its normal setting.
Having done that myself. I felt your pain. Nice to ride along side you a few weeks ago in Exmoor 👍
Aww, hello 👋🏼 It’s not the best experience but it sure makes it funny afterwards 😁
Was there last week, stopped at a lovely hotel 6 miles from the pass, so got on it early and stayed all day ❤
It’s worth getting there early. Sadly we almost got blown away by the wind and the rain so the ride down wasn’t as fun as the one going up. Last year we were there at the end of the day and roads were empty, bliss!
Was there last week, now I want to go back.
I want to go there again, too!
Love that road ❤
Me too 🥰
I have the same one, bought it new in 2005...still runs great!
@@lumenlarry6197 I almost wish I have kept it! Really impressed with the way it handled and how comfortable it was. A brilliant bike!
Good job of getting the bike up by yourself. I have ridden with guys who expecting someone else to pick their bike up.
@@Tankerman Thank you! I always try to pick the bike up myself first. I did need help a couple of times because of the way it fell and it was too heavy but I still had a go doing it by myself 💪🏼
Those gym sessions seem to be paying off. 💪
Yes! That was the idea 😉
Ar mez vous contre les loups,, quand on vous dit n'allez pas
Love the commentary
Glad you were entertained 😂 I was watching it back! 😂
Fuck is such a great word, well done picking the bike up. 😊
It’s a very versatile word 😂 Thank you ☺️
At least you didn’t drown the engine 👍🏻
I know, lucky ☺️👍🏼
Thank you for replying 👍 :)
Great video thanks for sharing. Is that a Givi adjustable Aeroflo screen? If so, how do you find it? Thanks
Airflow
Thanks for watching. It’s the original screen that comes with the bike, I haven’t changed anything on it. I have found the screen was too low and it’s not adjustable so I had a fair bit of wind buffering.
👍🏻
Maja!👍🍀
As long as youre having fun. For your next adventure you should try a enduro race.
I might train up to that one day 🤞🏼
Mega maya,,,love gixer bob ❤
Thanks Bob, hope you are doing well 🤗
Hi Maja considering a Tuareg can I ask your inside leg measurement? I’ve got a 31 inch, and currently on a g310gs which is 1 inch less in seat height. Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, I think I’m 29 inch so sounds like you’d be ok on it 👍🏼Best to take it out for a rest ride and see how you like it.
The bike looks an absolute blast 🙂
It’s such a giggle!
@@Biker_Maja I bet 😀
Love it! I've just bouht a 2008 Rev 3 to return to trials after a 30 year break!😀. It's an awesome way to keep fit, improve bike skills and have fun!😃
Oh yes, it definitely keeps you fit, doesn't it! 😊 Happy trailing!
Doing what you do would be a dream job for me, ie organising, running ang guiding motorbike tour groups. I know there'll be loads of stuff behind the scenes that needs doing, but I guess the main thing I'd like to know (and you may tell me to toddle off and mind my own business!!) is does it give you a living, or do you have other work that helps pay the bills? To be honest, how you run your bike touring business would make a great video!!
Hi Phil, it sure is a dream job and even the long hours of plotting the routes and planning are worth it. It can make a good living, yes. I do have other streams of income but that's how I roll. Not all eggs in one basket 😉
Good idea, will help to improve basic skills and fitness🙂
That’s the plan. Let’s hope it works 😁
Felling old? Buy a trials bike!
My tip would be to find somewhere big and open, like a field or carpark, and practice riding figures of eight, learning to steer with your knees. That was the revelation for me coming off a road and then later an Enduro bike. Learning that low speed, low centre of gravity control.
You’re right! The reason I got this is exactly that - to master the slow manoeuvre of the bike and gain confidence to take a bigger bike off road and stay on it 👍🏼
AWESOME, that was a sloppy mess for fat road tyres to slosh through, I think I'd have just given up and left my bike stuck, so bloomin well done getting it out.
Hahaha, if we have left her bike there she’d have to go pillion on mine and neither of us wanted that 😂😂😂
@@Biker_Maja 🤣
Doing this 2 day trip in September...thanksnfor the insight
You’ll have a fab time! Lara and I are back there in August for more training.
I did this section a few weeks ago, but on a tiger 1200 rally pro, I turned around at that really muddy section. Didn't fancy getting stuck and trying to pull a big adv bike out on my own 😅. Great video!
Thank you! I did think about turning aroudn but Lara was too quick and went for it. I'm glad my KTM had better tyres on or we would still be there dragging my bike out 🤣
@@Biker_Maja it's more fun to just go through when it's two people! I did go on the section before 3 shires head and dropped the bike and couldn't turn around. Sadly my GoPro battery died before that moment 😅.
👍😎👍🏍💯
👍😎👍🏍💯
Which trail is that maja? Few other decent learner / larger adventure bike trails in north wales are hidden lake (lake just west of llyn aled) google plus code for start point = 3869+X59 Betws-y-Coed, end point = 39W2+XRC Betws-y-Coed (Great for a wild camp, some deep ruts more of a challenge for 4x4s than bikes but need to pick your line) plus bomber lane barmouth, albeit you probably done that one already. Another stunning remote track starts = P6Q7+RCP Dolgellau, not too tricky. The freedom and beauty being able to ride off road brings is worth the pain and a few scratches on the KTM, but then you already know that!
This bit is from Cyffylliog towards Foel Gasnach. The toughest bit of the day for me. Thanks for the tips, I’ll plot them out and ride them. My poor KTM has many battle scars but that’s what they’re made for, I’m ok with it. All part of learning and practice, right 😊
It's all just practice and confidence. You're doing well. 😀👍🏍
Thank you ☺️ I’m not going up! I am having lots of fun even when it scares me!
Yeah ✊ KTM Forever
Ah ruts...love 'em! I have a nice little crater on the inside of my right calf where i tried to send the front wheel down one rut, and the rear down another...the bike launched itself skyward and i had a slightly painful landing 😅. All part of tge experience i guess. You're right to take it carefully tho...may take a while but I'm sure you'll get there and have great fun along the way!
Thank you! I’m sure I will get good at it, practice makes perfect and all that 😊
Nice one, great video 👍🏻
Thank you, subbed back 👍🏼
Absobloonlutely you get it, I feel exactly the same way, it is like learning to ride again, part scary, part exciting, all fun! 😀
Exactly! Lots of fun even when I have to remind myself to breathe 😂 I can't wait to get good at it!
@@Biker_Maja me too.... It took me 30+ years to get average at road riding! 😀 Hahaha
@HippoDrones Haha, I don’t have THAT much time anymore 😂😂😂
