Great to see this route used . Last time I went up piers gill was about 1986 with my current partner . We are now in our 80s ! It was a clear but freezing day , soup from our flask skinned over as soon as poured .The ravine was covered in thick ice with huge icicles , amazing sight which will stay with me forever! Sometimes it's great when the mist comes down, it's otherworldly up there. I'm going back, going from Wasdale to Piers Gill, Lingmell, Scafell Pike (so my friend can tick it off his list) but I'm really going for the West Wall Traverse up Scafell, back down Lords Rake. Can't wait, been wanting to check out Piers Gill since my last visit
Hi B, Glad you appreciated the video. Remember not to get sucked into Piers Gill, there's no way out for mere mortals without climbing gear. Likewise take care on the traverses, especially if the weather is like it was this day. Have a great visit. Roger.

Hi Dekor, You are correct ... our 2010 holiday was to a friend in Winzendorf and we stayed at the Dorfmeister for a few nights. More pictures and the full set of photos at the loweswatercam website. Search for "Austria"

nice vid, looks great, I'm away to Wasdale in the morning for 3 days camping, hoping to do Scafell Pike and Scafell via Piers Gill and Foxes Tarn if the weather is good enough
