Are thoes made in China? I know the sunex ones is have were made in Taiwan and only cost me 15 a set which is cheaper than my local harbor freight (cheap tool store in usa). With the leads removed and switched to reading AC volts, the display on mine fluctuates a few millivolts and the frequency display is unstable. If I then short out the inputs the millivolts and frequency stabiliise, but not quite on zero. If your meter doesn't do that, it will likely be the function switch not working or the amplifier circuit faulty. I have never been inside my meter as one screw is hidden under the serial number label. If the meter is under warranty, I would just return it.

      Just depends on what functionality you want from the meter. If you want power measurement capability, then this Testo 770-3 would be my likely choice. If you don't want power measurement but would like inrush current, then Testo offer the 770-1, the UT216C is a similar price and functionality. About half the price of those is the Kaiweets / Habotest HT208D. If you just want basic AC / DC current measurement, then you could look at the Extech MA443, or the Fluke 323 or Flir CM72 if you want a top brand names. Thanks for watching.

      Certainly continuity function wise it doesn't appear to be happy at all. Unfortunately, there is no support direct from Uni-T, so can't get any feedback from them as to what the issue is. I was able to jam 3.5mm double ended bits from klein in there and make more useful with t7 for knives and other things. Replacements would be easy to find from other donar screwdrivers. I've even lost a cap or 2 on the back and end up taking one off a spare.

  • @MattHmm-rq6dn
    @MattHmm-rq6dn 14 днів тому

    I hope you noticed that was a 4 pack of rhe stanley. You get 4 of them for 25 pounds. Which makes sense they are between 2 dollars and 4 dollars here in stores in the US. They are cheap picket pen style screwdrivers. The klein is great quality and with the extension well worth the money. A side note fatmax or stanley sells a nailset/punch that uses thoes bits on the other side for ph1 and slotted. That one is kinda useful and when I did buy it az uk imported it. The dewalt branding of rhe nail set screwdriver kis what we get in the usa mostly the same. You didn't get the idea from my sbld did you? If so now I guess I'm a influencer 😆.

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 14 днів тому

      That will explain why the price on the Stanley is similar to Klein, but the quality just isn't there. I have had the Stanley for years, would imagine i picked it up at a local hardware store rather than on Amazon. The Klein is nice quality, just not the right size bits come with it for me.

    Hello friend, I need your opinion. Which calibrator do you recommend? You can see at first glance that the MR 9270s is of better build quality, but in terms of accuracy and functions, which one is better? Or which one would you choose? Thanks and regards.

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 19 днів тому

      Depends on budget and requirements. The MR9270S does have more functionality, but you pay for that and if you don't need it or won't grow into using it then you are spending quite a lot of money. For some of the functions the MR9270S does have a little better resolution. If you just want a unit for messing around then I would opt for the SG-003A or LB02. If you want something for more professional for fault finding, then I would go for the MR9270S over the SG-004A if budget allowed as it seems to have better stability. My units are quite old now though and never had firmware upgrades. If you re looking for specific calibration on critical plant systems, then I would stay away from these units and look towards the more well known brands.

      Depends on the level of accuracy that you want from the device. If I want to use the SG-003A for calibration purposes then I would send it away to a calibration lab for independent verification on a regular basis. If I want to use it for general fault finding, then I can sense check the output functions of the SG-003A with a multimeter and then use the output functions to sense check the input functions of the SG-003A. Log all those results and carry out the tests on a regular basis to build up the trend. For external calibration, regular would likely be annual, for sense checks it would more likely be on a monthly basis. Thanks for watching and your question.

You can simply just lightly gamble that they will work and if not they go back which is the nature of az. They seem to be ridiculously tough 5% cobalt made in usa and don't flinch at hardened steel or cast iron. When you find something local that works well and it's reasonable to replace it's hard to gamble per say. I do remember a tome were carbide tungsten ceramic ect drill bits were crazy price's. Now with these low end manufacturers we have our pick of pre exotic tools at good prices such is progress. When drilling out hardened chrome like you did I tend to multiple automatic center punch the area or rough up the chrome area that will get drilled out first so the hardest part dosent destroy thr bits. Appreciate the video as always !

      I think M42 drills are best used in a pedestal drill or lathe where there is stability, they are a bit too brittle for use in hand held power tools. M35 is probably the best compromise out there for hardened steel and stainless. They seem to have done the job and were backed up by their warranty, so I can't complain really. I have seen a few Spyder wood drill sets, but nothing for steel in the UK. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    is 216C better or 208B?

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 Місяць тому

      The 208B appears to be aimed towards more professional use than the 216C is, but I have not tested the 208B. It has a few more features an industrial electrician would find beneficial and of course can measure a higher current than the 216C. For more DIY use I would stick with the 216C unless you can get the 208B for a better price.

    It's a clever solution indeed! When I saw your problem first thing I thought of was get a rotary tool with a diamond bit (round disc with a curved profile) and make a spot for rhe ball dentent to sit in. That's what they should have done in the first place I know ares and other random rebrands use such a method. That drill press setup looks mighty stable too which would make that solution even easier than free handing it. Just a thought then yoy can use any position you want. Nice koken "nuckle bar" that knulring looks fantastic. I have a 3/8s drive nepros one myself and it's a peice of jewelry! If you ever want a extravagant screwdriver get the wood handle nepros.

    They look reasonable most certainly better than aldis or Parkside. I know for myself I tend to buy a set but only use 2 or 3 of the sizes. If the company offers a set of 2 with the most common sizes ussaly that wins 🏆. I assume most of your sockets (recipticles outlets) use pz 2? I've never had my hand on a double socket for over there so I don't know. Pz here is relegated to ikea furniture basically it's why people assembling it get so angry at stripped screws since there using the wrong tip. Though jis or lazer tip don't seem to have the same issue with pozi. I agree the chunky gedore are quote appealing like we are use to with wera. I use a small wooden handle tweaker 3mm top would be the conversation from bell systems from 1909 and I ended up carving groves in it so it wasn't so slippery. Like me most people use what they need and the box goes in the bin so makes sense to save on the packaging unless it's a blade system we're they include a tool roll.

    • @three-phase562

      Most of our outlet and lighting fittings tend to be slotted screws, hence the flat blades. The pozi/slotted screws are usually in the breakers. Industry wise the pozi are used a lot in contactors, although I do tend to see hex headed screws now as well. Larger sized contactors we are on nuts and bolts. The cardboard box is just sales literature really, but I know some people do like some of their tools in tool rolls, but like you say that is mostly for the swappable sets.

      Well said and thank you. The us uses thoes combo on alot of thing hex on big breakers sometimes up to 19mm for comerical. It's funny here our "sockets can take philips slotted combo or square (torx if you really want). Just don't see poszi much.

    Appreciate the bench testing and accuracy verification, I bought one as a result. Looks like these were discontinued for a while in the US around 2022 but now they are available again through the Testo website. Supposedly the ones sold in the US were/are manufactured in Germany and other countries are manufactured in China. I’ve been looking at a lot of clamp meters and settled on this one, difficult to find one that measures Kw, there are only 3 that I could find Fieldpiece SC480&680, Testo 770-3, and Redfish IDVM550. Thanks for the video in helping me make my decision!

      Glad the video helped. I think a few companies have struggled the past couple of years with product availability. There are a few others out there that will measure power from the likes of the big brands Flir CM85-2, Chauvin Arnoux F407 and F607, RS Pro 158B, think there are some units from Uni-T and may be even CEM that are rebranded. I like the Testo unit though, hope it works out for you.

They also have Extech that do offer a lot more, although they are part of the Teledyne group now. Not sure if Extech do a power clamp meter though, I think all of the Extech instrument are rebrands, mostly from CEM.

    inferior construction when crimping non-insulated spade terminals the crimp dies twist because of the excessive free play in the tool joints causing the dies to twist out of true making a poor crimp, I would not recommend these overpriced crimpers bite the bullet and get yourself the proper KNIPEX or similar quality brand

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 2 місяці тому

      I have not found excessive play in the tool joints on my set. That may appear over time of course as they get used more. Certainly the dies don't seemed to be sized very well for some of the crimps that I have. I don't doubt that the Knipex versions will be much better. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @MattHmm-rq6dn

    The pipe wrenches that go on a breaker bar are a rebrand for sure! They go by Aries oem tools titan ect and are a made in Taiwan. That knipex instation striper pliers is interesting and I'd watch that comparison but in the end I know knipex is and will continue to be kilometers ahead in quality 😀 (I try to fit in the metric stuff when I can). Even in the US I own one laser tool that came from Amazon UK the 200mm speed wrench (like thoes pipe wrenches you showed) and it's reasonable quality. I was looking for an alternative to the Japanese TOP brand which are in the 30 to 40ish us dollars to get here laser was under 20. The top was considerably better and worth the extra money but the laser didn't go to waste it opens bottle caps well at the lunch table 😆 seriously that's it's use now. It's rare I have bought a brand that you have overseas for your market so I thought I'd share. The test it failed at was a old set of gas pipes we have around extra crusty it slipped where's the top or knipex cobras didn't even with 4ft if pipe on them and us standing on it. I think it's just s rebrand light duty use item and will be used as such.

    • @three-phase562
      @three-phase562 2 місяці тому

      I think Laser rebrand quite a lot of the tools they sell, likely from obscure manufacturers like the one you stated. The installation pliers certainly do not compare to the Knipex version in terms of quality. Not sure if they get much use on vehicles which is where Laser seem to put most of their tooling towards. In my experience Laser are popular with DIY mechanics, |I have not seen them much in professional garages. Appreciate you watching and commenting.

    The only sonel tool I have is the floor and wall insulation resistance testing plates sonel prs-1 something I think would be extremely useful for you when testing motors on pads and exposure to nearby potential conductive parts on motors including in fault conditions. In this case Effective protection is ensured by the reduction of floor and wall conductivity such that under operating conditions the worker is not exposed to the risk of contact with potentials other than the potential of defective equipment, i.e. hazardous electrical shock currents. Such a solution is based on the insulation of the test stand from the ground and equalizing the potentials of conductive parts (using non-earthed equipotential bonding) which are not a part of the electrical circuit to supply the test stand ( Usually If external conductive parts can be reached from the test stand within a distance <2m, insulating shields with at least a 2kV electrical rating is provided.
