      Hello, We recommend the Pro System. www.epodex.com/en/product/pro-system/ The epoxy resin PRO system is ideal for coating surfaces and making jewellery and small objects. It can be poured up to 2 cm deep per layer. The Resin A-component and hardener B-component are included in each set, as well as the desired colour dye or pigments. Instructions for use can be found on this product page. 24 hours at 20°C to harden and 7 days for full chemical curing to occur. You can use a demoulding spray if needed but epoxy never bonds to silicone moulds :) Team EPODEX

    Do I need to use a respiratory mask when working with this product? Also, what gloves should I use?

    • @epodex-uk3877
      @epodex-uk3877 Рік тому

      Hi :) Our products are chemical products but once cured and hardened they are not toxic and do not pose a threat to one’s health. Our products are remarkably odourless during processing, but we always recommend wearing a mask, protective clothing, and gloves (nitrile). Goggles can also be to protect one’s eyes. When sanding and griding surfaces please wear a respirator mask to avoid inhaling dust. Always work in a ventilated room meaning that the doors to the room are open to provide adequate air flow but do not open the windows as humidity can affect your work. Team EPODEX UK

      Hello Jasmine, This is called a Dirty Pour Technique. Heres how it done: If you wish to create a dirty pour you must first create a barrier (dam) around the edges with our strong, durable masking tape. Press the tape around the entire project. The tape should stick up at least a half-inch. 🎨 Pro Tip: One continuous piece of tape may be difficult to achieve but aim for as few seams as possible. Don’t wait too long before removing the tape. If the resin completely hardens, it will be difficult to remove. For the least hassle, it is best to remove the tape no more than 16 to 12 hours after pouring. Gelling times can be found on our system comparison sheet. You want the resin to be set, but still flexible so that the tape pulls off easily allowing the epoxy to flow down the edges in a slow movement. Upon removing the tape, you will notice some spots that will need to be treated with a paintbrush to ensure full coverage. Make sure you dip the paintbrush in the epoxy mixture before using it. Start using the paintbrush in a horizontal motion, spreading the epoxy over the edges. Do not worry about messing your design up if you have worked with various colours as the epoxy will still flow downwards bringing the design you have created over the edges. Only work on the face of the edges, not the top. Once you have painted the edges with a paintbrush take a stir stick and run it along the bottom of the edges to scrape the bottom drips off. You will need to do this periodically for an hour or two. For a final topcoat of epoxy, you can sand at a higher grit as the epoxy layer will then remove the scratches from sanding. You can round sand the bottom edges as well if needed to give the finishing touches to your edges. Hope this helps :) Contact me for more assistance at support@epodex.com. Team EPODEX

    I am considering using Tile Paint 2K to paint some heavy-duty ceramic bathroom floor tiles as part of a makeover. The area will need to be moisture resistant, and to some degree will need to withstand small water puddles as the tiles go to the edge of a bath. The tiles are not smooth, rather they have a pitted, textured finish - meaning that sanding prior to application of the product might be difficult. Would this product be suitable? Also, would you recommend using a primer such as Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 before applying the paint?

    • @epodex-uk3877
      @epodex-uk3877 2 роки тому

      Hi Tom, Thank you for your interest in our products. We recommend the Tile Paint 2K. www.epodex.com/en/product/tile-paint-2k-all-colours/ EPODEX TILE PAINT 2K has a satin finish and is abrasion resistant. This 2-component paint is ideal for painting tiles subject to heavy wear and tear on floors, walls, and ceilings. In addition, this paint is specially designed for tiles that are in constant contact with water (e.g., in a shower). It is the perfect solution to modernise your tiles in a durable way. Consumption Volumes: 120-150g/m². The quantities listed on our website are for one coat so double up to cover your sqm for two coats which are recommended. Depending on the texture of the tiles, use 80 grit for high-gloss tiles and 150 grit for matt tiles before you apply the product. Then use our Pre-cleaner found in your equipment tab. We do not recommend using a primer as we cannot guarantee the adhesion with our product. Detailed instructions for use can be found at the link above. Once fully cured the tiles are waterproof and chemically resistant :) TEAM EPODEX

    Hello! Helpful tutorial. Whats the best way to ensure that the object being encased is not up against the edge of the mold? In this video how did you make sure the flower petals wwerent sticking out during sanding

      Hi Jimmy, Thank you for your interest in our products. We recommend pouring a thin layer at the base of your mold. Then place the flower inside allowing the stem to sit in the poured epoxy and wait until the layer becomes gel like. This way when you keep pouring over it wont float or move around. Hi, I don't have a scale, can you help me understand how much to mix together? I have Epodex Pro Ultra clear and I want to cast a small peice of turf from the PSG stadium that I got. It isn't very big and will only be about 10cm x 10cm x 10cm. Thank you!

      Hello, Thank you for contacting us. The scale is required to weight out each component so that you can precisely adhere to the mixing ratio of 2:1 (2kgA:1kgB). For layers of up to 10 cm you should have purchased the Pro MAX System. The Resin A-component will say Pro Resin but the Hardener B-component will say Pro MAX. Is this the system you are using? Mixing Instructions: Mix the resin A-component with the hardener B-component in a ratio of 2:1 (e.g. 2kg resin: 1kg hardener). Stir through the edge and bottom of the mixing cup as material will settle there. Ideally, pour into a clean mixing cup and mix again until the mixture is streak-free. This ensures that the resin A-component and hardener B-component are completely mixed together. Pour the resin-hardener mixture onto the surface to be coated immediately after mixing, as the product can start to boil in the mixing cup. Let us know if we can be of any moe assistance :) TEAM EPODEX

    Why is there a 30cm limit? Is that over any surface area? What happens if you exceed 30cm?

    • @epodex-uk3877
      @epodex-uk3877 2 роки тому

      Hi there! Yes the resin can overheat which would lead to cracks, bubbles and yellowing. For deeper castings, we recommend using our even less reactive epoxy PRO MAX. www.epodex.com/en/product/pro-max-system-resinhardener/

    Hey, could you please tell me if epoxy shrinks when it cures? I’ve heard it can lead to cracking the table if you don’t use clamps to make the wood stay in place.. What can I do to prevent the table from breaking?

    • @epodex-uk3877
      @epodex-uk3877 2 роки тому

      Hi Denisa, Thank you for contacting us. The max. material shrinkage after processing is 1%. Cracking can occur from when the wood used is not properly primed and therefore sealed off. The table shouldn´t break if you properly apply the epoxy and allow it to fully chemically cure. Make sure to also apply the necessary legs and bars underneath the table to prevent it from warping as well :) Team EPODEX
