There will never be a perfect motel. You get what you pay for. We just came back from Disneyland. We stayed in castle inn suites. It wasn’t perfect but we literally went there to sleep and shower. I’ve heard amazing things about Tropicana - as you said personal preference.
Thanks for the review. I don’t like bugs. I had planned on staying there due to location and price. But now I’m look8ng elsewhere.
Glad I could help! There are several down Harbor Blvd that are much better and really close to the parks so next time we are going to try one of those.

That is a huge Disney ear haul. Nice choices. I love, love the Ursula Coach purse and the Main Attraction backpack is beautiful, has always been one of favorites 😍 . You have a lot of ears & backpacks love it!!
