This channel is just basic videos of activities around Egg Harbor Farm outside Clinton, WI. I don't like narrating, and you wouldn't want to hear me, so just enjoy the sights and sounds.

Raking and baling pasture hay with IH and New Holland
Переглядів 1,7 тис.6 місяців тому
Clearing off rough forage from one of our pastures using our Farmall 666 gas and New Holland 259 rake, followed by the Farmall 826 and NH 273 Hayliner square baler. The 826 was a bit much for the baler and the conditions. It qualified as an ace (5 kills) with shear pins on the baler. This stuff was garbage, but we needed to clear it off the pasture.

Using our Farmall 826 to cultimulch and the 856 to seed a grass mix on field edges and waterways. Perfect conditions and it even rained an hour after seeding finished.

Farmall 826 vs. 856

messing around with my 1970 826 and 1971 856. Besides the paint job, the 856 has a snappier throttle response, but I still love the sound of the German diesel on the 826. 856 has never had the head removed, but 826 had a full overhaul in 2003.

Nice looking 856
I'm farming my grandpa's land next year, and I am looking for a decent 826. We have one in the weeds but she's gone to the weather and I'd like to find another or something similar
I don't know what your budget is, or your location, but there are a couple in WI that I've seen, including one on FB marketplace that was misidentified as a 756.
Reminds me of when my dad would take me on rides around the yard on his JD 3010
Hello Chris, what size or cylinder length does that mower use? I have one sitting in the barn missing the cylinder.
I wish I could tell you. It was borrowed, but had a generic black hyd cylinder
In our area in Southwestern Ontario we have lots of 856 is but I never ever saw a 826 didn't know the existed and I thought I knew everything when I was younger LOL my dad bought a new 756 in 1968 that was a great tractor, however I never had pedal tractor when I was a kid and I was born in 1959 however in 2005 my parents actually gave me 826 gold demonstrator wide front end International pedal tractor, they said I never had one when I was a kid that was time LOL they got one that wasn't assembled because they weren't sure if I wanted a white front end or a narrow front end 806, my father passed away in January of 2006 so on Christmas Eve of 2006 my mother and I assembled it in the living room, both my parents are gone now and I'm 65 and I'm looking at that beautiful tractor in my Recreation room reliving memories , just watching your video brought back so many memories of the hours I spent looking out over the hood thank you and I love both your tractors!
I think the mustache is the real star of the show here
This is me, dipping my toe in the youtube-verse
Not too shabby! Cutting grass isn't easy with a sickle bar mower, you have to have ledger plates that are not rounded over on your rock guards, and of course the sickle sections need to be sharp as well, cutting alfalfa is easy, grass is not.!
Didn't seem to do too bad. be glad it wasn't a NH 451 3 point mower. Total junk. Overjoyed when the old man finally got rid of it.
I won't lie to you, that was the best pass of the day in the video. The grass was just too tall and thick for this thing. I also learned too late i needed to keep the speed up to help it feed better.
I remember way back in the middle 60's when they used to cut the fields with sickle mowers. I saw hen pheasants with their feet cut off. Apparently they wouldn't leave their nest and the sickle just cut their feet right off.
I believe it! We made sure the dogs were in the house!
Hey we had one just like that. Pulled a jd crimper behind it that had wind rower shields. Pulled it with the 656
I'm sorry with y'all who think the 856is better but I like the 826 I have and it put puts sounds good and it's my favorite tractor on our farm soooooo
Only a suggestion, but operator of tractor, wait for manure to reach the rear of the beaters before you drive forward
That's a clutch suggestion, man.
856 all day every day.
No Joke.
The birds appear to prefer the 826
Ha! They've just had more time to work on the 826. Unfortunately the 856 is catching up fast.
Beautiful red power .
Good Grief 😮
Stunner
Haha, thanks
Beautiful 856. We have one also. The D407 is one of my favorite sounding engines. The hallow thump when it fires up and idles always raises my neck hairs.
I love these long videos of no talking, no music, just work. Has your 567 from your other video treated you well? Might be going to look at one this weekend
567 belongs to our neighbor, but he has no complaints. It's treated him well, and he's very good on prescribed maintenance.
Nice pair of tractors! Both sound nice
Great looking 826 , I have a 856 looking as good as yours same cold starts,,, changed the plugs,, big difference “ happy farming”
I messed up in the video and forgot to pull the shutoff cable halfway out until just before the engine caught. Makes a huge difference, and usually I don't need any assistance getting it started with that trick, down to 25 degrees. I also have the batteries set up as 12v in parallel.
What size tires do you have on the steers
9.5L 15's, I think.
I had my 826 overhauled at 7000 hours. I found an M&W turbo kit had it put on left the fuel just as it was. It dyno's at 115hp. When going down the road in 8 th gear going from TA to the high side you better hang on, snappy doesn't describe it well.
How much did that turbo kit set you back? Sounds like a great add-on!
I can't remember, a Red Tractor guy around the area had a manifold and turbo setting around used , I'm thinking around 600$ I sent the turbo off to have it rebuilt. The M&W kit routes the exhaust to the same hole in the hood as original muffler I just put a chrome stack coming out of the turbo the whistle is great. It changed the performance of this tractor completely.
Always had a soft spot for the 826. Grew up a Deere guybut my grandfather Art had two as his main horses along with a massey ferguson 88
They must be one heell of a tractor, see an awful lot of them old IHs on YT,super video.
They're tough, you can work on them yourself, and you can still find parts for them, as long as you're not going to the dealer to get them!
Obviously the person running the tractor is not smart enough to know that you never engage the PTO at anything more than an idle then bring the throttle up slowly. Other wise it's hard on u joints and gear boxes. 😡
It doesn't sound like you're very familiar with 26-56 series IH tractors. You can feather the PTO engagement with the handle. Additionally, We don't load material against the beaters, so they're not starting under load. The apron is hydraulically driven. Have a nice day.
Man those IH diesels sound great. Lights look great too
The 856 is more powerful
Awesome! Looks great!
I love the 826 I grew up operating one with the diamond cab
Just curious, but what tires did you have on yours?
@@chrisstevens3531 we had 18.4 x 34s on ours
I bought a 1984 782 diesel cub cadette it mowed great I love it
Glad to see you can do it yourself. The tractor sounds great have a good day
Nice looking 826. I had one and I sold it like a fool and replaced it with a 986 because of having a cab. I've been sorry every since. Good tractors. Nice looking job of spreading.
? Plugs
Hi Chris which model is the spreader
That's a JD 550 Spreader. I think they were more popular in Canada.
This is a great video. No BS, no long intro, no excessive talking. Just some great shots and sounds of a gorgeous 826 doing honest work. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Chris looks like spring is here say hi to your dad for me
Will do Larry
Beautiful Red Power ❤
Kind of reminds me of politics today
This compost is less smelly
I agree with you, a lot of BS being liberally spread around.
Good looking tractor!
We have 2+ feet of snow on the ground in central Minnesota and here I am looking for summer videos. The desperation for spring to arrive is unreal, I want summer chores and summer fun.

Nice tractors. Ours has the 310 German
I like yours a lot. I'll bet it's slightly more efficient on fuel.
That is a beautiful tractor! We have a 1026 but I want to get an 826 some day
That's funny because I'm on the lookout for a large-frame Hydro
Love the 1026 on the baler we have some very steep hills here in Central NY
Ih had the devil by the toes in the day a great equipment company from tractors to choppers, implements and a few trucks mixed in!
Nice 86 series
