Usually I am the one taking the photos on this channel but we decided to switch it up. My fiancé Macy is proving how easy and fun a point and shoot is. Hope you enjoy the video.
How to take GREAT PHOTOS in BAD LOCATIONS | Canon 1DX MKIII

I live in the midwest... home to humid summer air, grass covered plains, and corn, oh and walmart. That"s seriously all there is here lol. In this video I talk about why being a photographer in this environment could even be an advantage. Enjoy!

I was so excited to use this camera that this video was filmed the same night the camera came in the mail! This was also my first time shooting on black and white film, and in 6x6 format. I can't wait to shoot and experiment more with this camera!! What are your thoughts on this camera? Do you like TLR cameras?

I am so in love with the art of photography, especially when I'm capturing love in real time.
Nice images. Can you show us how you edit your photos? I love the look of them.
Thanks i have a video coming out soon all about that! Be on the lookout!
nice colors in whole video and also photos
@@marcinsypniewsky thanks man shot on komodo and gemini
please, have some professional respect for yourself and forget this dream this and dream that camera. Every single one of these digital devices do exactly the same job. Some produce larger images, some produce more vivid colours and some just stay in the middleweight to be all things to all men. You seem to have some talent, concentrate on developing the talent, not the camera. Wish you success.
Appreciate it dog! I’m obviously investing in my talent. I took a 2 year break from UA-cam to really do that exact thing. I could’ve shot these images with a potato and they would’ve been great. You don’t see pros shooting on Canon Rebels tho. UA-cam is simply a small piece of my business and the GFX in a title gets clicks… most commercial photographers are shooting medium format and while I still love film it’s great to have a digital medium format option as a main workhorse
Nice content.... That jazz music may be a bit too overpowering the content. Just food for thought.
Ya like jazz??
Great summary but, please, no silly background music. It’s just distracting and annoying.
Ya like jazz???
Kills me when I see people with their lens hood backwards on the lens. Other than that quite nice!
@@micheljoffres37 no lie I totally forgot hahah I agree
Good soundtrack
Did you use an external light meter?
@@YesItsLu lol nah I just used my mirrorless camera
@@trevorlovatto I got the lghtmeter app and with this camera you can’t go higher than 500 on the shutter speed but the app be telling to go high as hell. As well as the f stop can’t go below 3.5
Trevor! Did you know Davy Crockett Used one of these Yashica cameras during the siege of the Alamo in 1836!? Using just one roll of Kodak Eastman 5222 black and white 35mm motion picture film he shot enough sprocket holes to stave off General Santa Anna and his army of 2000 men for THIRTEEN DAYS! Thank you so much for sharing! More people need to learn about the Yashica and its rich AMERICAN history of nearly 200 years. Learn more in my new youtube short "the untold history of the Yashica Mat 124G"
Awesome story man I did not know! Thanks for sharing. Love the history behind some of these cameras
What kind of film did you use?
It's imperative to use a lens shade for this camera as well as flocking the interior to reduce reflections. Shooting into the light is to be avoided. Moreover, 400 Delta is usually better shot at 300 or even 200.
hi! I just bought one of these for my little cousin and have no idea how to get pictures taken on it digitally. how do you do that?
You could get the film developed at a photo lab and then have them scan the negatives with a digital scanner. Make sure you request the high resolution scans. It cost a dollar or more but it’s worth it. Another way of getting them scanned digitally is developed the film yourself and then scan the negative digitally with either high resolution digital camera, and then invert the colors in Lightroom or Photoshop, or scan the negatives really high end, Epson or canon film scanner
I have gone through tree 1DX MK III ..... my first one 956k actuations, my second I dropped filming out of a sunroof with 367 k actuations and my new one I picked up in January 2023 it has currently 240k actuations......I simply love it and currently looking to buy another new one before they disappear ........great video !!!!!
Did you use any external light meter?
I own one of these beauties it’s fabulous for street photography get people interested in what your doing allows you to shoot some nice street portraits
Nice video! Beautiful shots, skillfully done, Beautiful model with what appears to be a great personality!!! What's not to like!
Nice video. Which lens did you use?
Thanks, great video, very hard to find this kind of information in tutorials and videos for this camera model... Regarding the operation of the camera when being used... I wanted to find out how far does the crank turns, specifically at advancing the film to the next frame and I can confirm by your sequences between shoots that it is half a turn. Thanks for showing your photoshoot in the processes of demonstrating the use of the camera. Beautifully done!
Wow! I have one of these and have not gotten around to shoot it yet, The photos are great and very sharp. I can't wait to shoot it after watching your video!
damnnn the video quality!!!!!!!! here before you got blew up on the internet!!1
Shoot more on the Yashica! Good work.
#Superb Trevor and Wife (V) #Londonlovesyou
Nice vid! What camera did you use?
Canon 1dx mk3
This made me happy
Beautiful! Love the range of shots
From an instructional or educational point of view would love to know what ISO film you used, as well as aperture and shutter speed
do you know by chance why did my shutter counter reset randomly? one day i took 5 shots and after a week without using it, the shutter count went back to "1" shot..
Photos remind me of some adult swim backgrounds lmao
Canon1dx3 :) such a great piece of gear!!!!!
Cool shots! Also love the way this video was shot! 🔥
I love that camera! ❤️ Nice video!
Pere Marquette! Such a cool place. This is a very cool exercise and I think you did a really nice job patiently seeking out the bits and pieces (light, composition, texture, contrast, lines) to turn common items into interesting shots. "I bet she got a Joy FM sticker." Classic!
Haha shout out Joy FM
Stoked on how this came out. You did a great job, keep killing it.
Thank you my man! I am trying my best
It was a fun shoot! Love your work ❤
Hi tôi cũng dùng dòng máy này
The lens on these is as good as anything I have used. No vibration so you can slow the shutter right down. I use Portra160 and 20” square prints are a knockout.
Great shots! Just picked up the none G, which I prefer the look of.
This video is misleading, film photographers dont have girlfriends
Seriously of course they do 😮
We do, and they are our favorite models!
Really great photos, and the music you picked for the video really matched your girlfriend's vibe perfectly!
