More spec work from a couple months ago. Really happy with how these turned out. In this video I talk a little bit about the project as a whole and showcase some of the work. Full project is on my website!

I live in the midwest... home to humid summer air, grass covered plains, and corn, oh and walmart. That"s seriously all there is here lol. In this video I talk about why being a photographer in this environment could even be an advantage. Enjoy!

I was so excited to use this camera that this video was filmed the same night the camera came in the mail! This was also my first time shooting on black and white film, and in 6x6 format. I can't wait to shoot and experiment more with this camera!! What are your thoughts on this camera? Do you like TLR cameras?

    please, have some professional respect for yourself and forget this dream this and dream that camera. Every single one of these digital devices do exactly the same job. Some produce larger images, some produce more vivid colours and some just stay in the middleweight to be all things to all men. You seem to have some talent, concentrate on developing the talent, not the camera. Wish you success.

      Appreciate it dog! I’m obviously investing in my talent. I took a 2 year break from UA-cam to really do that exact thing. I could’ve shot these images with a potato and they would’ve been great. You don’t see pros shooting on Canon Rebels tho. UA-cam is simply a small piece of my business and the GFX in a title gets clicks… most commercial photographers are shooting medium format and while I still love film it’s great to have a digital medium format option as a main workhorse

    Nice content.... That jazz music may be a bit too overpowering the content. Just food for thought.

    Great summary but, please, no silly background music. It’s just distracting and annoying.

    Trevor! Did you know Davy Crockett Used one of these Yashica cameras during the siege of the Alamo in 1836!? Using just one roll of Kodak Eastman 5222 black and white 35mm motion picture film he shot enough sprocket holes to stave off General Santa Anna and his army of 2000 men for THIRTEEN DAYS! Thank you so much for sharing! More people need to learn about the Yashica and its rich AMERICAN history of nearly 200 years. It's imperative to use a lens shade for this camera as well as flocking the interior to reduce reflections. Shooting into the light is to be avoided. Moreover, 400 Delta is usually better shot at 300 or even 200.

    hi! I just bought one of these for my little cousin and have no idea how to get pictures taken on it digitally. how do you do that?

    • @justinkeys523
      @justinkeys523 10 місяців тому

      You could get the film developed at a photo lab and then have them scan the negatives with a digital scanner. Make sure you request the high resolution scans. It cost a dollar or more but it’s worth it. Another way of getting them scanned digitally is developed the film yourself and then scan the negative digitally with either high resolution digital camera, and then invert the colors in Lightroom or Photoshop, or scan the negatives really high end, Epson or canon film scanner

    Thanks, great video, very hard to find this kind of information in tutorials and videos for this camera model... Regarding the operation of the camera when being used... I wanted to find out how far does the crank turns, specifically at advancing the film to the next frame and I can confirm by your sequences between shoots that it is half a turn. Thanks for showing your photoshoot in the processes of demonstrating the use of the camera. Beautifully done!
