Nice! Any issues with mould growing on sides of containers?
How’s the drive to the Bluff Hut?
Beautiful site! What camera are you using? :)
Awesome vid
Lovely video, great to see Mt Feathertop beautifully white
Did you guys go up there in June or July?
We want in June it was Queens Birthday long weekend, very different this year, you could ski there!
Great vid, loved the array of footage types, and very scenic.
Great job Matt. We're inspired and looking to see how we can do something similar here.
Go for it!
Nice video 👌🏼
Snow was phenomenal 2 years ago!
Is the trail easy enough to follow with deep snow around?
I've generally found there are enough people climbing in Winter that you can see the trail, if it is just after a storm that might be tricky. Make sure you stay away from the edge by winters end the cornices can be quite large
@@hikingfaith Ok, thanks Matt. Hoping to head up in the next month or so. I guess it's best to aim for a summit day as clear as possible so to avoid the dangerous areas with cornices.
I am considering doing this walk how manny days does it take there and back?
We took three days from melbourne, two nights on the mountain and summited on the morning of day 2 while it was still cold and frozen. We previously tried in two days but it is a big ask and you need to make sure you don't have to be back down the mountain by 5-6pm to return hire gear, too rushed to appreciate it
Matt Ormiston yes I am considering getting into mountaineering as I am an experienced rock climber and I ski so I would love to get involved in this sport. I already have a lot of my own gear all I need is some climbing boots, crampons, ice picks, and a really powerful torch. I have a friend in search and rescue who has done the walk and who can also teach me some ice climbing techniques whilst the mountain is frozen I want to progress through all the mountains in Victoria and then go onto New Zealand and other higher mountains I am sure this is a great start mountain and would be exhausting and a great challenge something even cooler would be camping on the summit maybe you could try that next time :) Did you take a guide with you?
@AIRWOLF CENTRAL No I walked the trail and summit myself, I have been there several times. There is no ice climbing to be done unless you plan to climb in the gullies, many people do it without crampons and ice picks but i like the security they bring. You won't need a guide to get up there. The summit is quite small with little level ground, I would not recommend tenting up there. If you want to do that, go to Mt Bogong, the summit has plenty of space to pitch a tent, but is exposed so pick your weather. It's generally recommended to stay near the huts especially in Winter
@@hikingfaith Thanks yeah i would love to go climbing in the gullies that would be great fun.
Am I correct in saying: if you start at Bungalow Spur Hiking Trailhead and hike to Feathertop and back during November, its a day hike?
thanks for the gr8 video i'll be heading up there shortly
Max hope you have a great time, I'd like to go back and make the true summit next time. Make sure you check what is open on the parks website after the fires
Love the final cut it’s ver nice 👍 Good job Dad
Great vid Matt. Did this climb last Tuesday. Lucky the sun was out and got up and back before clouds rolled in. Did it by myself and certainly didn't feel as safe when you are guessing the path under the snow especially when you know it is so close to the edge.
Thanks, It is an amazing mountains but commands respect, hard to tell where the mountain ends and the cornice starts, especially in cloudy condition
This video Love it
Nice video Dad I like it 😃.
Top video, great scenery and good edit.
