That is pretty awesome I've always wanted to own Confederate Currency, there's a place here in Ohio called Camp Chase (located in Columbus) which housed Confederate POWs but also civilians, only thing of Camp Chase is the cemetery which I have been too and took photos of all the graves.
Very interesting piece of history. Thanks, Rafael
They used 2 heap them up and burn them 2 separate the different pieces sort the lead from the brass
2024 ... " A little Knowledge ❤ 💯 ". Thanks from New Orleans Louisiana
Glad to see you staying busy and doing well, hope to see you again soon my friend,, Ken Bell
Well said - a rather unpopular weapon during the American Civil War...
Your hand movements remind me of a crack heads
Rafael, love your videos and appreciate your message. Thanks.
Wow, Rafael, thanks for sharing that. It was really nice to finally meet you at the last G-burg show a month or so ago. The fact that you are willing to put that out there so that others can benefit from your experience says a lot about who you are. My first wife spent 30 plus years in AA and took a job with the Salvation Army as a addictions councilor just so she could help others. She had some success stories but also plenty of losses. She never gave up. One of her losses was her own son. That was hard. God bless you sir.
Oh, my belt buckle is the same color on both sides as well.
I found a belt buckle in my old, built in 1920 house in a small town above Johnstown just like that one. Our town predates the flood actually and is really close to the dam that broke. I can't find too much on the belt buckles, I know they changed the design a lot just before and during the civil war, up until just after, where they changed the uniform. I don't know if it's real, I think it's a reproduction, but if it is, it's a really good one. How can I tell? Mine seems to only have the metal slot to put the belt through, and a hook to put through the belt eyes. The back of the belt has some sort of wave pattern all over the back, and there's no other markings besides the US and those waves. And the belt has patina and the greenish white stains.
I love the Colt pockets and their spinoffs! What an informative video man! I found the Bacon copy in my brother's yard in Nashville. Have a non dug one to match. I have the frame and remnants of a Colt Pocket from a KY privy. Serial no. 54265. Any idea what date range this is? good luck to you and yours! 🍀👍
Another great video. I hope you will be at the Vagas show in January.
Sir good day can you give me advice ai would like to cut the cannon ball safe
Sir good day can you give a advice I want to cut the cannon ball I found in the mountain
I just conceived this as idea, and did a search to see if I was the first to do so, and was fascinated to see I wasn't the first. Did you say how it operates? If you did I think I missed it. Is it high friction near the point so it 'holds on' to the blade and is pulled forward or something else?
I have this exact sword only mine doesn't have any markings on the blade nor handle, and also my sheath is not leather, so it might just be a reproduction.
I have one sittin on my back porch for over 40 years. Still some yukky grease inside.....
You mentioned kids n history...reminds me!!! I have an old Winchester 30-30 made back in 1940... I was showing it to my grandson while we were watching a doc. in the Civil War! I'm 65 yeard old,y grandson was 12 at the time... He looks at me then at the gun and asks" Grandpa' was this what you carried in the civil war?!!? I spewed iced tea halfway across the room!
You have a bat in the cave my friend.
Long live the South!!!
He is still part of American history, good or bad.
Yeah right! LMAO
He fought for an evil cause and should be remembered as a looser😮😮😮😮
Actually If you would open your ears and not your mouth . You would know he didn't fight.
Why would I want to celebrate a traitor?
Wow great condition
So literacy was definitely a requirement for cannon operators lol
Confederate Bowie Knife? Ugh, no thanks. If it the soldiers who used it couldn't win the war, how good is it really?
Read a British comparison of the Colt Navy versus the Adams revolver . One British officer in the Crimean War with his Adams dropped four Russians intent on bayoneting him , while another in the Indian Mutiny , emptied his Colt into an enraged Sepoy and was " cloven to the teeth " by the unstopped mutineer . Love the unfiltered British ads .
Besides the historical context of your post, your wonderful comments about treating everyone with respect and dignity was fantastic. Thank you.
Great episode as usual. I lost my father to suicide in 2012. I understand what you’re going through. Cody Pulaski, TN
It's missing It's skirts
Bought one of these up in Gettysburg that was fired in W Virginia.
Rafael, I need a Ames 1840 Heavy Cavalry saber in excllent plus condiion.
Wonderful to see your videos. Thanks for all.
I just found this channel and think I just found a new favorite good work!
Good to see you doing well. Would love to have a James shell . But unfortunately there out of my price range. Very cool shell !
God bless you and your family.
Fantastic, thank you!
Will you be at the Civil War Show in Illinois this month? My neighbor, retired firefighter Bob and I are looking forward to seeing your table. 😊
Really cool to think how it was fired and didnt burst, and now its an amazing piece of history. I wonder if any life was spared from its failure to detonate?
My ears were buzzing! I love the story... Happy Labor Day everyone
Just bought another Carbine from Shiloh Relics. This is an amazing company and the Raphael does a great job finding fantastic condition items at awesome prices. Highly recommended!! PS. The Maynard is one of the best shooting carbines ever made. One of the most popular weapons amongst North-South Skirmish Association shooters. Ask any Maynard man on the firing line at the Nationals and they will tell you the Maynard is their favorite Civil War Carbine.
I believe Eli Whitney came up with a way for mass produced parts for their "1795" pattern musket. The US musket was almost an exact copy of the French Charlottesville musket. It may be the Hall rifle was the first.
Interesting video, interesting topic. But please, STAND STILL. You look like a 4 year old who needs to empty their bladder. It makes me want to go and have a wiz.
I am related to Captain Benjamin Abraham Ford of Company K 25th Tennessee Volunteer C.S.A. - I am looking for information about this unit; is there a place where I could get more information?? Especially his time & service in the war & the uniforms they wore.Captain Ford's daughter Daime B. was my grandfather's grandmother. My grandfather was Carson Guthrie Howard.
Great video
That's a must-have for any artillery enthusiast.
Very Kool!
Love that you said you’re a “caretaker” of your collectibles and relics. That’s very meaningful. Would love if you could share your appearances from the Antiques Road Show with us. Seems they aren’t available on UA-cam anymore. Love your channel.
