That room man… how could you stand the acoustic caos. Put some foam on the walls!
why those drums setup like a jc penny catalog
lol. It was the initial setup. It is greatly improved since then .
That kit sounds incredible. It’s nice just hearing the raw sound without processing. Enjoy!
Definitely my last choice of sizes for drums, I just can’t get behind power toms, but if that’s what you love the most then rock the hell on my friend! Reference kits are so nice and high quality no matter how small or big they are, and that finish is stunning!
I feel the same way about shallow toms…can’t stand ‘em’ lol. Boring look, everyone has the exact same sizes. My kit is fresh and exciting:). I do love the finish. It’s like a work of art. What do you play?
@@ks7507 I just love the sound of shallow toms personally, plus I’m a short guy, so I can’t set up power toms comfortably at all. All the Reference drums are absolutely works of art, and of course the Masterworks kits too. I currently play PDP and DW, but I’m making the switch to strictly DW soon, love the sound of their drums and their hardware is the best in my opinion. If DW went to crap though, Pearl will always be my 2nd go to choice for drums and hardware, I really love Pearl!
All the gear, no idea
Hilarious. My setup has greatly improved since the initial first setup and play.
Instead of sawing off the hi-hat stem, look into a remote mount hi-hat, as it allows for more convenient hi-hat and pedal placement.
Man went to Guitar Center and ordered one of everything...
Late life resurgence? Ya, I had one too. My story is long...I almost had a career as a drummer, then, babies! 😏 Well, I should have stayed on track & I would have been much happier. Fast forward 20 years & the urge hit me to play again & my chops were practically gone. Tried a few local cover bands to simply play out & have fun, but, old fuckers are far worse than young & hungry musicians! Had a little fun practicing & playing a few gigs, but, I'm 60 now with a worn out construction worker body & I'm done forever...unfuckingfortunately!! Get your chops back bro & maybe go out & have some fun again!!
Sick ass drum set
Nice kit man!
That sure is a pretty kit. I would go with two fewer toms. I tend to use even sizes; 6, 8, 10 and so on down to 18. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely beautiful , i love 60s,70s,80s,early 90s, music i love big huge drums power toms etc your great man keep rockin on brother!!!
Thank you!
15K??
Congrats Dude!
You can get Pearl bbc1 masking plates to cover the tom mounts on the bass drums.
Hey man, this unboxing video is putting smile in my face. It is also my dream to have a drum kit like this. Btw Congratulations 🎉
Giving those drums a workout. Rock on, brother !
What a kit 😂❤❤🎉😮😮
Fantastc,,right on brother
Enjoy that kit, I had a Sonor Phonic Plus kit back in the 80's ( Nicko McBrain set up), sold it because it wasn't very practical for small gigs. Wish I still had them.
Had my foot tapping
Hey. I was watching your videos around a year ago and I can hear some good improvements. Keep it going. All the best.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. Drumming is fun…there some viewers who are way too serious. lol. One day, I want to get other drummers a chance to play this monster kit.
@@ks7507 yeah man, somtimes life is about having some fun.
Hi uncle Kyle, it’s me Georgia, I can’t wait to see you and Stanley bye love you
Hi Georgia…love you!!! Miss you and Jack 😊
Are we allowed to ask what it cost with everything
You can ask. Just look at the Pearl Drums Price guide for hardware and drums. It cost a lot of money. Thats why I saved for 10 years.
Man , you nailed it. I am liking your drumming . Screw the " anti-ergo comment. Doesn't even phase you
Thank you, appreciate it! Drumming is fun. No time for haters 😎
To much gear and not enough skill..
It’s never enough gear! It makes me happy, that’s all that matters.
Too many periods, not enough ‘o’s.

Midlife crisis kit 😂🤣😂🤣
I saved for 10 years to buy this…long before a mid-life crisis.
@@ks7507planned ahead. Smart man. Need some stage lights tho. Light that sucka up.😂 Seriously, beautiful kit.
@@ks7507 yea man I'm just being a smart ass , beautiful pearl drum kit by the way 👍 🇦🇺
@@michealmccoy9249 it’s all good. There have definitely been some haters out there. Lol.
Молодец! 10 лет копить - это дорогого стоит! Сколько эта красота стоит, если не секрет?😮
Cymbal list pls
Hi there…from the drivers seat left to right…all Zildjian’s…18” Rock Crash Brilliant (1991), 17” A Custom Medium Crash, 17” K Dark Crash, 16” A Medium Thin, 12” A Custom Splash, 16” A Custom, 18” K Medium Thin Dark Crash, 12” A Splash, 19” A Custom Medium Crash, 20 K Custom Ride (1991), 18” A Medium Thin Crash, 19” Rock Crash Brilliant (1991), 10” K Splash, 19” Ultra Hammered China, and 14” A New Beat Hi Hats (1989)
So you have enough money to buy them. If you spend that amount on lessons it would better investment. Your playing abilities are lacking..
Cool perspective. I really don’t care. I play for fun.

The neighbors when you're loading it into the house - "ah shit".
Lololol so true
Nice set up, but my question is about the hi-hat rod. Does it get in your way when playing the upper toms. Because I had to place mine in-between my toms so I would stop accidentally hitting it. Because I'm thinking about shortening my rod and getting another one as a backup. I was just wondering if you have had that problem.
Hi, thanks for the view:). Honestly, sometimes it does get in the way. I do plan on sawing off some of the HiHat Rod. I’m just not willing to buy a saw for a 1 time use. I have to find a machine shop somewhere.
Why does anyone care how big this set is and how it's set up ? It's his preference. As for skill, I've seen great drummers on big and small kits and I've seen crap drummers on big and small kits. It's his money and he's obviously worked hard to be able to spend it how he likes. For many of us it's the enjoyment we get out of playing. It is neither your money nor your drums. In my somewhat humble opinion the negative opinions come from drum snobs.
Amen brother! Thank you!
Congrats on getting the kit of your dreams. I am absolutely jealous but happy for you. I call myself a cellar dweller. Never been in a band. I have had the pleasure of sitting in with mostly cover bands in the 80's. Always played for fun. Almost fifty years so far.
Thank you! 10 years of saving and this is the payoff. This kit is so much fun to play. I hope everyone can experience being able to purchase their dream kit.
Looks great
Can never have too many drums or cymbals
Sounds great man!
Drumkit sounds great...
Put some industrial rubber under rack feet to raise it up.
Have fun and keep rocking to hell with what they say nice kit
Awesome, thank you!
Bello/Magnifico.👑👑👑👑👑👑🧨
I used to have a 5 piece set similar colour many years back, the guy who bought it from me gigged and recorded with it. Quality stuff
I would avoid using the bass drum mount holes. Leaves too much space. Get some double rack Tom stands and it looks like you need some single rack stands that could clamp on a stand. Less space between the drums the better
that hi hat placement and height combined with the snare angle is anti-ergonomic...
Nah. My setup works for me just fine.
Are you saying that you think his hi hats are too low to have the snare that high and angled in with the somewhat high rack toms? I myself have the opposite. I like the hh's a lot higher than my snare because when arms are crossed, I don't wack my wrists together on a groove since I haven't retrained myself to play hi hat with the left hand open style...
Man you suck , it ain't no thing . , thet is on of your sorts in every walk of life , but have a nice day , this is the comment section right
Nice Kit
No easy for a lefty playing on a right hand set up. Doing very well tho. 💪
I can’t play a lefty setup at all. Lol. I tried, but I’m more comfortable as a righty.
Classic version… ua-cam.com/video/BETILacy_M8/v-deo.htmlsi=2g6jzT01AF0vONko
Congrats on the kit! We only go around once, really happy for you, enjoy those huge drums!
Thank you!
80's depths. They sound huge though.
Yup! More drummers today should change it up. Everyone uses 10x7, 12x8…boring.
@@danrivera7 I don’t what it is, but every drummer thinks they need to drum-splain everything to me about my kit. I’m good, thanks.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I would suggest moving the 13x15 to where the 14x16 tom is and put the 14x16 tom to the left of the hi hat on a tom holder. It would fix your lug rubbing issue. Obviously the other toms would have to be shifted over as well. I'm just confused as to why you would have a 14x16 tom and then a 16x16 floor tom right after it. It is literally the same drum. There is no tonal separation. Killer drums by the way. I love Pearl drums and power toms.
I’m not offended. At least you were respectful…so many jerks out there. I couldn’t disagree more, for two reasons. 1) My 16x14 mounted tom is 2” shallower than the 16x16 floor tom. And 2) the mounted tom is 6 plies 7.5 mm thick, the floor tom is 8 plies 10mm thick. There is a clear difference. 6”-16 mounted toms give complete tonal range.
@@ks7507 Are you sure about reason number 2? In an old 2014 Pearl catalog on their site, it states that toms/floors that are 14 inches in diameter and up, are 8 ply 10mm. Maybe the shell recipe has changed. As far as reason number 1, I don't see how a 2 inch difference in depth would make much of a tonal difference considering the shell thickness is the same. The resonance would be shorter and the note would be a little less deeper. The pitch would be almost identical. I don't hear a big difference. In all fairness, I'm not in your basement. Lol. I have a Pearl MRX kit with 8 -10 -12 - 14 - 15 toms (16 -18 floors.) I have the 15 to my left. (2)18x24 kicks and also bought 2 18x22 kicks as well. Couldn't make up my mind so I bought both. I have been wanting to buy a Masterworks in reference specs. I bet your kicks are monsters. I have a couple questions. Do the drums blend well together? Do the kicks resonate good, or are they a little stiff due to the really thick shell? I have read posts about the kicks being stiff with no resonance. Who knows? I love big ass power toms too man. Lol. Every kit I have owned has had power toms. It's the only way! I know the Reference floors are like cannons. I played on a Reference kit yrs back and I remember the floor toms being ridiculously loud and punchy. Sorry for the long winded response and all of the questions!
@@MrGuitarandvocals I think I know the specs of my kit. Check out the 2020/2021 catalog. And yes, for reasons stated, it makes all the difference.
@@ks7507 You're right. They did change the recipe. I didn't bother to look at the later catalogs because I didn't think the recipe would be different. I figured that's what the Reference Pures were for. My bad.
Bello/Magnifico.🤑🤑🤑💰💰💰
