    Doing the exact same thing to my '06 . I will be installing shorter springs, new shocks ( all around ) , stabler link and shock drop kit . Also cranking the tortion bars down a bit ,so thanks for doing this video ,just what I needed info wise . Good photogrify by the way ,have a great day . PS - after dozens of trucks in our lives ,being seniors , we love our Avalanche ,probably the last vehicle we,ll ever need .

    Thanks for the speedy and to the point info on replacing the brake light. I also have an Avalanche. ( 2003) And I just wanted to let you know that Turtle Wax restore ( ? ) for your box panels, wheel well covers and over the back cab turned my truck an amazing conditioned dark grey - almost black..like it was when it was new. So if you want to try it out you won't be disappointed.

    are you planning to restore all the fade away plastic?

    • @ryanrdiy
      @ryanrdiy 3 місяці тому

      One day I will. Planning to restore with SEM paint. I’d love to get some smooth upper panels from an Escalade EXT so I can just paint match and all I’d have to worry about is the plastics on the lower half of the vehicle.

    I just bought an Avalanche and am trying to figure out if I want to come up or go down for leveling. Do you haul with those springs? How do they affect towing capacity?

    My Escalade has the full width light bar. The plastic was sun faded and chipped. I sanded it from 800 to 3000, sprayed it with 2k clear, along with all the lenses up front, the rear custom tail lights, 2 neighbors headlamps as well. All look amazing. One spray can lasts 24 hours so instead of tossing it, I repaired as many lenses as possible.

      Nice man! Gotta love those spray cans, just have to make sure you have a lot of stuff to clear so it doesn’t go to waste 👍🏾 thanks for sharing!

    i couldn’t get those grommets in the bolt holes without tearing them. I miss driving my avalanche its been sitting for like 4 months needs a transmission rebuild Im saving for a beefier trans rebuild the stock 4l60 cant handle a higher stall converter maybe the truck is too heavy but its fun as hell the way it makes these heavy trucks take off from a stop.

    • @ryanrdiy
      @ryanrdiy 10 місяців тому

      Sorry to hear that man! I got them in by rubbing each of them with some oil. My trans went out January of this year and I had it rebuilt with some upgraded parts and I’m so happy I did. Truck drives amazing. I fall in love with it all over again every time I drive it. You’ll get her driving again in no time!

    You should paint all that plastic in the back I painted mine with rustoleum trim and bumper paint like 3 or 4 years ago amd it still looks good I scrubbed the hell out of it with dawn dish soap and brush then scubbed it with a red scotch bright and dawn then finally wiped it with wax and grease remover until the rag wiped clean. It stands out from all the ones that I see with the ashy gray plastic lol.

    Nice video. My 3rd brake light has never worked since I bought my avalanche 2 years ago. Replaced the light today but no power still. Checked the fuse and it's fine. Any ideas?

    • @ryanrdiy
      @ryanrdiy Рік тому

      Im glad you enjoyed the video! For your issue, I would probably check to make sure you’re getting power at the light itself first. If not and all fuses are good, I’d probably start tracing wiring or try to find a schematic that shows the third brake light wiring start to finish and start checking things. I hope you’re able to find the problem soon!

    Now you need to Raise the front by like 3 Inches.... Because as soon as you put a good 400 pounds of anything in the back, guess what, all you get to see is Blue Skies, No Road.... 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

      @ryanrdiy Рік тому

      Already found that out 😂 I moved a bed packed full of tile a couple weeks ago and it squatted hard. I don’t tow heavy often so not too worried but if I find it a problem, I’ll more than likely add helper bags to the rear. Thanks for watching!!

      Thing is, the most appreciated thing about an Avalange ,besides the styling is the creature comforts ,ride , tool pockets along the bed , access to box from inside ,heated seats ,sun roof , in other words ,a daily driver ,not so much to be used as a full time construction hauler .So who cares about the occasional time you do haul something around ?

    • @hoseqt1
      @hoseqt1 4 дні тому

      @@cecilsabourin9462 Nah, you didn't get it.... I was being Sarcastic.... BUT, since the Avalanche is rated at 1/2 Ton, meaning 1,000 Pounds, and IF you have one that's been ""leveled"" by lowering the Rear, I DARE you, no, I CHALLENGE you to throw a good 750 Pounds into the rear, and then count the stripes on the road in front of you.... This Challenge will NOT be accepted, because you already know why....
