We are a couple starting our new journey as homesteaders. We are learning, teaching you from our mistakes as we go, trying to become as self-sufficient as we can, telling stories that will make you laugh and some you won't want to believe, and serving our Lord as He provides for us in unmeasurable ways. We have goats, chickens, a livestock guardian dog named Piper, and a garden all sitting on 15 beautiful acres in the hills of Southwest Missouri. We hope there will be much more to come as we expand our knowledge and our homestead.
Dealing with Water Problems While We Have Had No Water
We are excavating to encourage the water to shed off somewhere besides in our barn. Now a little rain to see how it works would be useful.

Everyone needs to prepare by uniting in one big community together because when things go wrong and the store is closed completely and no one can get food or water and the homeless or regular people and they're also retired people that cannot afford rents or their mortgages insurance are high those people some of them might be good and you can share with them, but others will not be good. They have evil in their heart and they will terrorize people like you with this video and other preppers is not about being secluded and alone. That is horrible. What they can do to you if a group of crazy people go to your your prepping area they will wait for you when you least expect them and they will attack you just like they do and they will take everything for you hopefully only the food and stuff like that and not your virtues, or make you suffer peppers need to realize that prepping means loving each other as neighbors sharing food getting together she support for each other because alone he will all perish just as anyone in the city
Will you need to put wires on the ends to keep the goats out? ( I just know mine would try it. LOL) Also want to add. These are awesome ideas for feeders! I look forward to learning more by watching your channel!

How do you keep the dog from chewing the stick?
We didn't really worry about it. Dryer wood is better, but we were okay with her chewing on it.
Do not use anything but distilled water... distilled water only...and silver 99.99 pure... please... and get a tds meter to measure the ppm , usually 10-15 ppm is good,and strain the liquid through a coffee filter

Sorry it has taken me so long to remember to get out there and count them. 54 full blocks and 14 of the top cap blocks (4 inches tall.)

I second that comment- getting them through the puppy stage is a lot of work. We have two puppies started since we have a large predator load with nightly challenges and a lot of wooded area as well as pastures to cover. I'm already seeing what you're seeing- the promise of the big payoff- safety and security for our farm. I'm excited to have found your vlog as it seems we are on a similar journey. Subscribed! I'm very surprised to say, as I expected to find changes I would make, to report there are none. The pit works great. The change I will be making when I cook a hog this year: I will not use a barrel to burn the wood. I will just keep a campfire going. The barrel burned the wood up too quickly.

So we now have 10 adults and 8 kids. We have to stop and count all the time too. We can't seem to keep it straight, and trying to identify the kids - that is a job. It seems like a process of elimination, "okay you are Esther's, you belong to Fiona, . . ."

She is an Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. We are so pleased with her, she will be a year old this month.
The Chickens look great; we haven't processed many through the years, so my thoughts are: add those golden girls to the flock. I think that chicken tractor deserves some more trial seasons, but... Chicken tractor for sale!? Can't wait to see the chicken processing video or have you found a processor...there is a family in our county that processes poultry. The raised beds look amazing! 👏 Did you grow your red okra from seed last year?
We won't be getting rid of the chicken tractor, just not so gungho to get right back at it when these are gone. We will probably send them to a processor - Shane is not interested in the least. 🤔 And, yes, I started the okra from seed. I still have some, do you want some?
