Jonah’s desire to not see Israel receive their due prevented him from obeying God in brining the Gospel to Nineveh. Often we can disobey God thinking our reason is virtuous like Jonah.

This sermon series has been so encouraging. Thanks, Jake for you diligence in conveying these truths. We will need to go start at your first sermon and work through, as we have missed many. We sure miss you all.

I think the US is the prostitute of Revelation 17. One way of looking at the prostitute is that she is restraining the beast. When you ride something, you restrain it and keep it under control. In 2 Thes. 2:6, the Antichrist is revealed when the restrainer is taken away. America acts like the police force a lot of times in the world trying to keep the peace. There has always been governments restraining anarchy. If America is taken out of the way as the restrainer, what kind of power would fill its spot? So if the beast throws off it’s restrainer like in Rev 17 and 18, then it could fit the 2 Thes. 2:6 passage. One EMP or nuclear strike would change the standing of the current police force of the world. Just a thought.

What a wonderfully preached Easter sermon. Grace and Peace are not merely feelings but rather they are objective realities for those in Christ.
